sounds like a mixture of Purcell and Handel
I like Delphine Galou, but just imagine the young James Bowman singing this!
Delphine Galou appeals to my ear. It's very rare to find a countertenor with the depth of a natural female alto, many times there is a strained falsetto sound. She appears to be singing historical English pronunciation.
This could just about have been composed by Purcell. It is English in style and content. Contrast Handel's Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne and you will see how musical style on the continent, particularly under the influence of Italian composers, had moved on by this time.
To me, this sounds very similar to Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks.

This is wonderful! The countertenor has a strange accent when he sings, it isn't very pleasant to listen to.
There is no countertenor, but Delphine Galou sings alto part and her voice sounds like countertenor

I was almost disappointed to discover that that alto is a woman; I thought I'd heard a really amazing countertenor!
