It does make me wonder how it would do today with how much people travel to airbnbs and what not, and with how much the nearby main land has grown. However, it being only boat accessible certainly cuts off a huge amount of customers.
This property has always struggled financially, with it going through numerous hands over the years. In addition, the property was subject of a substantial investor fraud and as such fell into massive disrepair. The property is currently owned by the creditor and they haven't put a penny into the property either.
As far as the beach, this island has had drastic erosion in recent years, partly due to storms, and partly due to its location as a barrier island and the various ocean currents.
