I know your wife has battled cancer, when my son was 18 months old I almost died having surgery to remove most of my colon due to pre cancer and history of Crohn’s disease. 3 more emergent surgeries within weeks. Our son is now 16 and while I will take low dose chemo in an attempt to battle Crohn’s disease in other parts of my GI tract, I now have none of my larger intestine or rectum plus a permanent ileostomy, for the first time in my entire adult life (I’m 41) I’m truly loving my life the healthiest I’ve been after recovering from even more surgeries a few years back. I lost two uncles to colon cancer.
My uncle was taken in 2015 from cancer my daddy 5months later from kidney disease my best friend a year later from a rare blood disease and last summer my baby cousin was 15 when brain cancer took him away I'd like to think Jesus came all the way to Kentucky all the way from heaven to walk with them and talk with them thanks for this song

I finally got to see this video. This video was made at my cousin Cody Bundick house in Blanket Texas. The woman and young man is his wife and son. I use to work at Brownwood hospital. Last year on February 7, 2014, I was told I have breast cancer but I don't now. I am now cancer free Thank God. I am alive and well Thank God, the fight was hard, very hard but I won the cancer didn't. I loved this song Coffey, and the video.

Beautiful song. I'm sorry for your loss. I've felt the sting of cancer too. My father and brother, wife's mom and others have gone on to heaven after battling cancer. My wife is a survivor. Wrote a song for her back in '06 and did an 18-city tour together with some other artists to help cancer patients. Might have to go again and have you come along my brother!

Not too long ago I laid a man to rest that wasn't related to me by blood but he was like a grandfather. He has done many things for me from spending long days and nights at the fire station training me or just talking. Coffey brother, this song has touched my heart I love your music. First I just want to offer my condolences to those of you that have lost loved ones. I pray for those that are suffering from sicknesses. May you be healed and the road not so long. Coffey, I didn’t know you lost a parent. My condolences to you and your family. It seems like I’m going through a very dark tunnel and I’ll never see the light. Last year in October, my fiancé passed away unexpectedly with Congestive Heart Failure. I had the sweetest Chihuahua who ironically enough had CHF too. She grieved herself to death 4 months later. My mammaw had cancer of the stomach and passed 26 years ago but the problem is I’m watching my mom go through all the same symptoms. Her health is declining at a good rate. I thought I’d get a little time to process all of this but no unfortunately I received the news that my dad has 4-6 months to live. His heart is extremely weak. I feel alone. The worst fear in my life came true. I’ve asked God why. Only he knows and has the plans. My apologies to you Coffey or anyone else. I wasn’t trying to make this about me. I saw the subject matter and my plate runneth over I guess. Beautiful song. Beautiful lyrics. Perfect vocals. Heart and soul. Wonderful personality all coming through on this song. I remember sitting with my mother when she found out she had cancer and sitting with her during treatments and holding her hand and she took her last breath.
So many want to make music to get rich. I am sure you want to make a living doing it but there is something more I hear in your voice and your music. I hear your heart and soul reaching out to people and your need to share it and it helps give us, less musically eloquent people a voice to express how we feel. I am a mother, I also have stage 3 HS that has started attacking my brain. I don't know how much time I have left but this song helped me to feel at peace a little bit more with what is coming. I know Jesus will come all the way to NC for me and children. Thank you for writing this song and thank you for being a singer that sings with his heart. I hope you have peace :)

Beautiful song. I'm sorry for your loss. I've felt the sting of cancer too. My father and brother, wife's mom and others have gone on to heaven after battling cancer. My wife is a survivor. Wrote a song for her back in '06 and did an 18-city tour together with some other artists to help cancer patients. Might have to go again and have you come along my brother!

Not too long ago I laid a man to rest that wasn't related to me by blood but he was like a grandfather. He has done many things for me from spending long days and nights at the fire station training me or just talking. Coffey brother, this song has touched my heart I love your music. It seems like I’m going through a very dark tunnel and I’ll never see the light. Last year in October, my fiancé passed away unexpectedly with Congestive Heart Failure. I had the sweetest Chihuahua who ironically enough had CHF too. She grieved herself to death 4 months later. My mammaw had cancer of the stomach and passed 26 years ago but the problem is I’m watching my mom go through all the same symptoms. Her health is declining at a good rate. I thought I’d get a little time to process all of this but no unfortunately I received the news that my dad has 4-6 months to live. His heart is extremely weak. I feel alone. The worst fear in my life came true. I’ve asked God why. Only he knows and has the plans.
My apologies to you Coffey or anyone else. I wasn’t trying to make this about me. I saw the subject matter and my plate runneth over I guess.

It gets me every time I hear this song, beautiful.
So many want to make music to get rich. I am sure you want to make a living doing it but there is something more I hear in your voice and your music. I hear your heart and soul reaching out to people and your need to share it and it helps give us, less musically eloquent people a voice to express how we feel. I am a mother, I also have stage 3 HS that has started attacking my brain. I don't know how much time I have left but this song helped me to feel at peace a little bit more with what is coming.
