Some of these so call medical personnel's are too unprofessional and heart less. Jamaica needs an independent body to regularly monitor these facilities. One life is too many. My condolence to this poor girls family
I know she got pregnant young....but guess what she's still a human being. She had the mind to have her baby and go back to school... this devastates me my belly is literally burning me everytime i see this story..... SO SAD
This situation is heart rending, as a man and a father, I am not in support of these young girls getting pregnant at these ages of their lives. But, I have the experience of being into the maternity wards on more than one occasions, and hearing nurses asking young mothers if when they were doing what and what if it never hot etc etc. I think they treat young mothers with a lot of disregards. Condolences to the family.
Some of these nurses and doctors need to go court and face some real charges they take people life fe play house. And even though money can’t bring her back but the mother needs justice for her child. I can imagine what that poor girl was feeling. Bcc her body don’t fully develop and to watch her suffer tru pain like that breaks my heart 😢😢😢😢😢
She signed that paper for her daughter to do a C-section and in the case of deeper emergency a hysterectomy. The body can reject the blood given to them, removing womb can be a way to save them. They hesitated and went against the mother wish. That's careless
What is wrong with these doctors and nurses in these hospitals in Jamaica? Didn't they know what blood type she had before she went into labour? I am not a doctor or nurse, but my knowledge would tell me what to do in the little girls' case. This is hard to take in.
Some of these nurses don't care about the patients they treat them like they are nobody 14 or not she's someone's child alot of carelessness cause people's life in these hospitals no sin goes unpunished

Wow ,my heart goes out for this family, especially the mother of this teenage mother, GOD coverage and intervention continually with prayers.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👀🫵👍🫶💪
If a lot of us got pregnant the first time we had sex we would have been teen mothers, they handle these teen mothers horribly all over Jamaica. I don’t want to hear anything because this was because of negligence, they DO NOT provide proper care to these young girls. I have heard stories that some of these nurses hit and deliberately ignore these girls while they are in labor. They will say things like “u never did a bawl so when u did a tek man, a woman u want be so tek pain like woman etc.” very unprofessional and they need to be held accountable. No compassion from some of these female nurses, I wonder if they don’t have mothers, sisters, nieces, daughters. Unu fi do BETTER!! I do not know this young lady but change is needed.
Whilst not ideal for children to be pregnant she is still human the level of disdain that is meted out to young girls in this situation is alarming.Tbe nurses scorn these young people am totally against such a behaviour
This has been a long standing issue in the Health Sector for decades, no solution and no justice. 😢 Majority of these health care workers are heartless, they have no love and compassion for the people they serve. My condolences and prayers go out to her family. Beautiful soul gone too soon. 😢

They simply don't care end of story. I had a family member who's now 57 and had her first child at 20 in Jamaica who's now 37 and almost every day she would tell the story of how they the nurses treated her so bad because they thought she was younger because she didn't look like 20 they curses her and treated her so badly and and i also knew of 3 more situations like that so yes they couldn't care less about you so sad

Maternal death is really too high in Jamaica. There is a responsibility to be taken by both country and people. Many don't understand that giving birth is not just carrying a child and pushing them out. Each person may have associated risks that they need to identify if possible, before having chindren. Some you will never know until pregnancy sadly. There are also somethings that once it occurs, it is hard to reverse or rectify.
You cannot give the family comfort only God can give them that inner peace and comfort.peace comes from God not from man.God will grant the family his peace and comfort.there strength is in God.God will take care of them and carry them through in this time of pain
This rips my heart in two. Two investigations needs to be done... who is the father of the child as she is underage and full investigation as to what transpired at the hospital. This is 2024 going into the 2025 too many mothers are dying in Jamaica. My sister was in labour for hours before another doctor who came on the shift yelled to the staff to get this lady to the operating room and they did an emergency C section that saved her life. Hardly anyone cares.. Thank God he came on shift.

What steps or solutions were discussed to prevent teenage pregnancies, yet responses focused on lawsuits and providing more education to those who are already well-informed? Doctors are not the problem to begin with. Solutions 1. No sex before marriage.
They were likely unable to control the bleeding. Additionally, it was mentioned that she had a rare blood type, possibly O negative. Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal death. I wonder if she received regular antenatal care, as this could have identified her as a high-risk case. Her mode of delivery should have been discussed and agreed upon before she went into labor. She appears to be petite, and I believe a natural birth may not have been suitable for her. High-risk cases should be monitored in hospitals rather than clinics, at least during the last trimester of pregnancy.
