@@windsordrums Yes! And you learned how to play just a millisecond behind the beat like Buddy. Charles Otis, who Jimi played with before he got famous, was one of the major drummers in that style. If you listen to the song “I’m Your Puppet” you can really hear that style - it was very common in the south in the 50’s and 60’s. The guitar work is very impressive here, but many people will not have full awareness of how you and the bass player locking in is what is giving this performance that “special thing”.
Hey, this video just popped into my feed, and I was concerned at first thinking. Who the hell would even attempt this? But I have to say that this young man absolutely nailed it, and he has brass balls to go for it like he did! I'm 70 years old, young now, and have been teaching guitar for around 25-30 years, but I've been gigging and recording up and down the west coast of America for years. I like to think that a few years ago when I was absolutely in my prime I could have attempted this, but I don't know that I could have taken it to the level of this young man! Really well done dude, congratulations on nailing this incredibly hard tune. I mean, you had The Bravery to not just crank the gain up to 11:00 and let the Distortion box do the work. You backed off on that gain and let the tone come through your hands as it should. I could go on and on, and this is just a comment on youtube! You have a new fan, liked and subscribed, from the Pacific Northwest! 🎸🎶🙏💯💖🎸Jim
Love gives one the courage! Having to front this, I discussed the sections with them all - this was the only time it was played in its entirety As mentioned elsewhere, perhaps Windsor could retitle the clip as it is a bit misleading!
Very brave of you to play this song...the greatest rock song ever written, by the greatest guitarist to ever pick up the instrument. Nice work, really enjoyed it, love to see you live sometime!!!
Oh wow. That's an amazing cover -- very nicely does that song justice. I agree with someone below who wished the girls had vamped Buddy Miles along the way through earlier parts. But man that's not an arrangement to undertake lightly and you guys nailed it. Thanks for posting!
Love it or hate it, that's up to you BUTT, Jimi has left a very important message to Love~! FOR Us, the people, we still look for Jimi. We hear his music in the wind. We hear it in our hearts. It's beginning to become clear why Jimi was killed isn't it? Jimi ended the war. Jimi started the change that has effected everyone. We will end WAR forever! A new day is upon us! Listen to the WIND and when You are just right His peace will be in us all; The Highway Child: ua-cam.com/video/8TjHY62Humw/v-deo.htmlsi=Ref28h0DZeYDlMyH
Incredible job in getting the Buddy Miles feel on drums.
