If you would like to go deeper, switches made up of the same materials, example would be stuff like Alpacas, Moss, Rose Noir would most likely sound the same. Keycaps though.. cheap as fuck ABS vs GMK affects the sound profile quite a bit. PBT tends to have a deeper sound too, if compared to GMK, both with the same thickness per se.
Out of all them I prefer the yellow Gateron switches. They have this nice mushy sound, but I kinda hear the spring when letting go which I wouldn't enjoy. Maybe with a different keycap I would enjoy them much more. As for the other switches they have a subtle sound difference in tone.
Keep in mind if ur buying the gaterin yellow it’s super smooth and if ur just hoping into it like me it will take time to adapt to cuz it’s super smooth and like me I hover my finger over the key and that resgisters as a clikx

I have the Gateron Browns, my current favourite switch. A bit surprising as I've had a TON of different switches and all of them are for me worse than the Gateron Browns. I have them in my Keychron v8, modded with 55g springs and they sound different then in this vid. They're pretty quiet. What I love most is the high actuation and the smooth travel after. I keep trying out new ones to see if they're better than the plain old 'boring' Gateron Browns but so far Gateron keeps coming out on top. :-) Switches I've tried are: Kiwi BobaU4 62g clear Zealios v2 62g (the worst I've ever had surprisingly considering it's reputation) Drop Holy Panda (1st batch) Aliaz Silent 60g Switches that I've ordered but not yet delivered: Kailh Polia LCET blue pink

i got a tester of 7 testers each one of the gateron optical switches and honestly whites are so scratchy and loud even after lubing... maybe it is only my batch idk but keep it in mind

Which of these has the softest click? I have very long nails and I tend to press my keys with the tip of my nails so the softer the switch the faster I can type
To me they all sound very similar - sure, „side to side“ you can make out small differences, but isolated I wouldn’t be able to tell which switch is used.

What i learned from this:
Switches - each has their own sound.
Keycaps - basically all sound the same

I bought a prebuilt custom keyboard with gateron yellows (fully lubed) and it definitely sounds nice.
The Greens sounded nice, as did the Yellows!

To have tested both; the blue one have a secondary internal moving part that clicks, the brown are like reds but with a bump

what did you do with those switches and keycaps? they all sound like they don't sit snuggly in their slot, very rattly
