Wahoooo an international flight attendant layover in GERMANY! This was one of my favorite trips to date. What must I do next time I'm here?! Thanks for being here and watching. - JJ / Vlogs mentioned in today's video: FRANKFURT: ua-cam.com/video/Lu-m1MYPfwE/v-deo.html LITHUANIA: ua-cam.com/video/2n3CaWWkJcA/v-deo.html
A Christmas market, depending on the time. Also try visiting maybe a castle or visit wine country. And you pronounced Mainz just fine. Yes, these pillows exist, we also have square shaped pillows often happen to be smaller. At a hotel though they should be a nice square shape. There's a whole lot to see, explore and enjoy. Come back for vacation and let us know beforehand. Maybe we can help make your stay a bit more enjoyable and memorable.
What I love in Frankfurt is the „Goethe Haus“, the house where the famous German author Johann von Goethe was born and grew up after 1749. Unfortunately the house was bombed in the last war I think, but it was built up again and is an exact replica of the original. If you like quaint old buildings, that‘s the place to go. What I also liked in Frankfurt was a tower near the main station, and if you go to the top, there‘s a lovely restaurant and bar with a view of the whole of Frankfurt. It‘s called Main Tower, Main being the name of the river that goes through Frankfurt. „Main“ in Main Tower rhymes with wine!
In Frankfurt? Or Germany as a whole? Frankfurt is arguably the least interesting city in Germany, unless you're into banking/stock exchange stuff. However in every German city you should be able to get curry wurst (curry sausage) that's delicious 😁 Berlin and Munich are nice cities with international airports. Hamburg is nice too if you like to party. My fav city in Germany is Dresden. It has a lot of history and (rebuilt) historical buildings and great food. But I don't think they have international flights hehehe
Hi Julia, I wrote a comment a few days back but somehow i cant see it :) When you are next time in Frankfurt you could visit Heidelberg. It's only one hour train ride from Frankfurt and it is a beautiful tiny city with an old university, lots of students and the beautiful Heidelberger Schloss (Heidelberg Palace). Also it is one of the more sunnier and warmer places in Germany. When we were students we used to chill at Neckarwiese and have a picknick. Also Philosophenweg is nice.
I am barely into this video and had to hit pause. You don’t just talk a good talk about being grateful…I can TELL you are. You took the time to film flowers and trees!! Wow
Hi Julia, I'm German and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay in my home country so much. If you have the opportunity, please come back soon for a vacation to see more of the country, because Germany has so much to offer! By the way, your German pronunciation of "Mainz" was perfect,
I am happy you had fun, next summer will definitely visit Germany. My late boyfriend is German / British Canadian so will be great to visit and have a memorable time for his life.
It´s impressive how fresh you look after the long flight/time change and only a nap. Your pronuncation was perfect!! So excited that you are in Germany!!!
I have to admit I love to see when you come home and Luna greets you, she is so excited, it is like she is saying, hi mom, hi mom, play with me mom, play with me mom! LOL 🙂
Hello Julia. It was an awesome video. As you said, the best way to know a new place is walking and enjoy its beauty. I loved everything you showed in this video. Frankfurt is a beautiful city and so clean!! Glad that you had a chance to walk and toured some of the area where you stayed. That shop were they had pets stuff was cute!! The little stuff dog and the bed certainly looked like Ms Luna. Too funny! I hope the rest of your week goes well. Stay safe and have fun! Cheers.
I spent three years of my childhood in Mainz (you are pronouncing it correctly 🙂) so it is so nice seeing it again, many years later, in this vid. Thank you! 🙂
Hey Julia, I'm from Brazil!! Thank you so much for your channel!!!! I simply love watching your videos, you're so sweet and such a nice person!! Your videos bring me peace and calm me down after a long day!! And a big bonus: I learn so much vocabulary and grammar with you!! Thank you for sharing your routine with us, hope you never stop it😘
Fantastic trip! I'm so happy that you're so grateful. I recall a few years ago-when you were furloughed, you were so sad. What a blessing. Love your curly hair.
Germany is sure a very beautiful and prosperous place! Especially taking into account their turbulent past 105 years. I was very impressed with all of the scenery you were able to capture. Thank you for a nice treat!!
Thank you Julia! My mother and grandmother went to Germany in the 70’s and enjoyed it, too! I would love to go to Frankfurt , myself! Very good video! See you in another video! Blessings!!!
Julia, I am so glad that your hotel was in an area where you could enjoy a nice walk. You were so lucky to get to see a slice of "quintessential Germany". Didn't it almost seem like a town out of a fairytale? Take care. Please say hi to Eric and give Luna a big hug. 🫂❤️✈️🙏🌎🕊
Grazie Giulia ! Bellissimo video Francoforte e' veramente una bella e storica citta' tedesca.... Thank you so much for this interesting video Ciao or Bye...
Hi Julia, thx for sharing your tour. The comments, presentet whit a smart smile and the plan to comeback for a vacation to see more of the country is awsome.i´m an old german guy.Stay well
The best feeling in the world is when your dog is so excited when you made it back home! Thanks for sharing Germany with us. I liked Kirschgarten the most, the flowers were beautiful!
This was a great video Julia! I too have been fortunate to go to Germany twice now and I absolutely loved it!! I definitely plan on returning to see more of this great country.
Julia Interesting video!! Beautiful architecture and very clean city! Certainly one of the benefits of your profession spending time in other countries!! As always, Luna very happy to see you again. Very glad you have the opportunity to see your parents so soon after this trip. Regards Jennifer and Duncan from Canada
Thank you! I had the same thoughts about it being a very clean and also beautiful city. Heheh coming home to Luna is always the best part 🤗🐶 thank you as always for watching!
Julia, what a beautifully shot video. The music, the filming was so well done. Made me want to go to Germany! You have gotten so good at these vlogs/filming since I started following you (way back). Side note, one of the things I love that you do is put in the books you're reading. As an avid reader it's great to hear a review on a book (live) before i buy! And I always love to see Luna and all the lovin' she gives you when you arrive home. Have an awesome week! Love from Massachusetts
Thanks so much Marti! This was one of my favorite videos to date to film/edit 😊 I’m glad to hear you like the book sections, I love to read & share that with you all. Hope you have an awesome week as well!
Germany is so beautiful. Glad you were able to see a bit of it. I've been to Mainz before. And your first Mainz pronunciation was right. It's such a cute, cozy town. I personally like it a lot better than Frankfurt. how did you like the wine? I've never had a Gewurztraminer. The hotel pillow is interesting...🤔 have a good day and stay safe 🙏❤️
My Uncle-in-Law (retired Air Force LT Colonel) now a Southwest pilot lives and flys out of the the DFW area. We had a great visit last year. Love Texas!
Hi Julia. So glad you are enjoying Germany. I lived there for 13 years. The first 4 years, in the Air Force, in the city right across the river from Mainz, called Wiesbaden. The City Hall is called a Rathaus.
I know Wiesbaden better than Mainz and I remember seeing all the U.S. servicemen and women when I visited in the 80s. I used to work for GM Overseas and would regularly visit Opel just up the road in Russelsheim and we'd stay in Wiesbaden (My boss lived in Konigstein.) I don't like Frankfurt, so even when I attend the Frankfurt Auto Show or Automechanika, I stay out in Wiesbaden.
Beautiful!! Germany is definitely on my bucket list!! Some of my ancestors on my dad’s side of the family came over from Germany. I don’t know German at all hardly, but I’d very love to go there and explore!! Thanks for taking us along on your trip there!!
Hi Julia, I thoroughly enjoyed that video of your trip to Germany. So grateful that we can also see so many beautiful places with you, without actually going there. Germany looks so neat and clean. I was waiting to see what magnet you would pick up, it was a cute one. I always, always love to see the way Luna greets you on your return home from trips. She is so super excited to see you. Take care can't wait to see your next vlog. Keep smiling your beautiful smile, have an awesome day. Hi to Eric. 🙂
The Rheingau is southwest of Mainz. This is a famous wine-growing area and offers a great landscape. The Schwanheimer Dunes in the middle of the city is worth a trip. Also the river Main and the shore in the evening is great. The Römer, the city hall. Apple wine is typical for Frankfurt. Walk along the Museumsufer. The iron bridge. Maintower for an overview of Frankfurt(Mainhattan). The Gewürztraminer you bought for you and Eric is a great wine with intense aroma. The grape comes from the Tramin area in South Tyrol which belongs to Italy. The Dolomites are spectacular. You pronounced the city of Mainz perfectly. I am German and i am very happy that you like my homeland so much. The old town of Mainz and Frankfurt. Spätzle is said mainly in the south of Germany. Handmade spaetzle(noodles) taste the best. Many greetings from Stuttgart
Thank you so much for posting these videos Julia! All these countries that you get to visit are incredibly beautiful! I have my in person interview at DFW next week for FA!
Thanks so much for watching them Joshua! Congrats on getting the in person interview and good luck, be yourself, thank the recruiters and HAVE FUN! You got this!
I've never been to Germany, but from what I saw on your vlog, it's a beautiful place. I think the cobblestone streets are so cool, and maybe someday I'll get the chance to go there
The Christmas markets are so beautiful and and the buildings are so magnificent and have so much history! Love it 🍂🍃❤️🍁🍁🍃🤎🦃🦃🤎🍁🍁🍃🍂🧡🧡🍂🍃🍃🍁🍁🍃🍂🧡🍂❤️🍁❤️🍂🦃🤎🦃🤎🤎🤎🦃🍁❤️🍃🍂🧡🧡🍂❤️❤️🍁🍁🍂🧡🧡🍂🍂🍁🍁❤️🤎🤎🤎🍁🍃🍂🧡🧡🧡🧡🍃❤️🍁🍁🍃🧡🧡🍃🍃
In WW2 my dad crossed the Rhine just south of Mainz “Mines” with Patton’s 3rd army. Patton famously stopped mid crossing and (let’s say tinkled) in the river. Was on a Rhine River cruise in 2019 and didn’t think to look for where that was until we were past the spot. Gives me a reason to go back.
What a fantastic 💕Trip Julia yes Christmas markets will be starting in a lot of European cities . That was a fair walk around town ,at least the weather stayed kind for you 😜 Have a Good week🥰
Enjoyed your video , pretty cool watching what fascinates you during your layovers in Europe ! And … wow those boots of yours were made for walking 😂, good job 👍🤗🤙
Dear Julia, thank you so much for this amazing vlog! I always enjoy watching your videos! You are really awesome! Thank you! Lots of love from La Plata, Argentina! ♥️😘
If you want to take longer river cruises, go with a Danube River one. Rhine cruises are less scenic; there are numerous industrial sites along the Rhine. The Danube has a lot of beautiful towns like Buda and Pest in Hungary.
If you cruise either the Rhine or the Danube, you will likely do most of the cruising at night other than the particularly scenic bits (the Wachau Valley on the Danube and the Middle Rhine between Koblenz and Rüdesheim on the Rhine). I'd choose more by the port stops than the river. I have cruised the Rhine between Rotterdam and Basel (which I believe is the entire length navigable by cruise ships) and the Danube between Giurgiu and Regensburg. It is hard to choose between the two. You are right to say that there are more industrial sites and perhaps also more commercial traffic on the Rhine, but the Danube also has its share of commercial sites and commercial traffic. Another way of choosing is that a typical Danube cruise will give you capital cities (Budapest, Vienna and perhaps also Bratislava). A Rhine cruise will typically feature one capital (Amsterdam - it's not on the Rhine, but most Rhine cruises go there) and some smaller towns and cities (Strasbourg, Basel, Koblenz, Köln). Even so, what you see is itinerary-dependent - pick both the itinerary and the cruise line wisely, as they are all different. Julia has mentioned elsewhere in the comments that Eric is half-Swiss, so perhaps this would tilt them towards a Rhine cruise. I was in Mainz on a river cruise last year and have happy memories of visiting the Gutenberg Museum that Julia went past at 3:50.
Very enjoyable video. It is great that you take advantage of your layovers to explore, record, and share them with us. The endings of your videos are also entertaining with the many ways Luna greets you upon your return.
These travelogs remind us to embrace the journey through life. Tnx 4 sharing once again. Weather can B fickle & U lucked out. Eating without drinking anything? Oh oh.
LOVED Germany. The architecture, atmosphere and genuine friendliness was a treat. Learned Wienerschnitzel, a fav, is like a tenderloin. And was great. Have fun!!!
Looked like such a wonderful mini-trip for you! I’ve been to various cities and towns throughout Germany in my younger days and agree that the architecture and cobblestone streets are breathtaking. Amazing job that you do!😊
Have amazing beautiful time in Germany Julia and enjoy have fun! So happy for you that you are in Germany! 🧡🧡🦃🦃❤️🤎🍁🍂🍃🍁🤎❤️🍂🍂🍃🤎❤️🦃🧡🦃🦃🧡🧡🧡❤️🤎🍃🍂🍂🍂🍃🍁❤️🧡🧡🦃🦃❤️❤️🤎🍁🍃🍂🍂🍃🤎❤️🦃🦃🧡🧡🧡❤️❤️🤎🍁🍁🍃🍂🍃🍁
Hi Julia, I am glad that you enjoyed the city of Mainz (your first pronounciation was 👍) That city is much better for a 24hrs.-layover than Frankfurt: smaller, a more historic city center, almost everything within walking distance. In general, it is a 'cozy' town. I was a flight attendant with Lufthansa (yes, it's me on the wing of a 747-400 at the airport of Santiago de Chile) from 1982-2015, and your layover reminds me of my countless layovers in the US, which I enjoyed very much. I can also remember my layovers in Dallas, which were extraordinary, because in the late 1980's to the mid 90's we used to stay there for a couple of days, flying from DFW to Mexico City and back to DFW before flying home to FRA the next day. I really enjoyed it very much and I will never forget it! When I came to the US, I always felt like home away from home. Thank you very much for sharing your impressions of your layover in Mainz, and always happy landings!
Always love your joyful spirit when you are in a new city. My wife and I always love walking when we travel to a new city. Keep smiling Julia. Safe travels and many blessings from Pennsylvania❤️
Just found your channel and I so enjoyed your video. Thank you ever so much for giving us a glimpse of that beautiful city. I truly enjoyed it so. I hope you always have a great experience with your passengers and that they show true appreciation for all that you try so hard to do for them. Thank you for sharing your world with us beautiful lady. Your doggy is adorable.
Always enjoy your vlogs Julia!! You have a calming and soft personality. Hope to meet you at the gates 1 day! Always enjoy seeing Luna 🐾💕. Be well! 🙏✈️
This was a very fun vlog! We've been to Germany twice and loved it both times so we are really hoping to make it back soon. Thanks for taking us around Frankfurt!
Me thinks this vlog might be yet another favorite of mine. That architecture just takes the breath away. And you can't miss the iconic tinder woodwork on those buildings. Yes@6:15 that does look like the Luna girl! Oh I've had spetzle before love it! Very cool magnet. Wow you covered some big time real estate with your walks! I have family roots in Germany (most from Stuttgart) so that adds extra meaning to this video.
This is DEFINITELY a favorite Vlog of mine for sure. From the food, the buildings, the streets ahhh it was just wonderful. How cool that you have family roots in Germany!! Thanks for watching ☺️
Wow! What a great vlog! I loved seeing all of the architecture & the cobblestone streets! The town was absolutely beautiful & yes, I think a must for dad & I! Thank you for the chocolate-I loved it:) 🤎
Great video and I‘m glad you enjoyed Germany ! There are many other great cities as Cologne, Düsseldorf, Munich and my absolut favorite BERLIN !!! 😊 I am living between Cologne and Frankfurt. Please stay as positive as you are. You are such an Inspiration 😘 Nina.
I spent 2 weeks in Germany … I loved it. I don’t know how to speak German… if the shop owners didn’t speak English they would go find someone that did.
I just came across these “flight attendant life” and I find you and the stories very interesting. I’ll keep following ☺️ Since I can no longer travel as I did long ago, I can at least do it and enjoy it through you 😉 Thank you for the views 👍
You got a late harvest Gewurtztraminer. It should be fabulous! Usually, late harvest wines are on the sweeter side but I've had late harvest gewurtztraminers that are not very sweet (thinking about how sweet a late harvest reisling can be). I'm interested to hear what you thought of it :-)

@@JettingJulia I really love watching your flight attendant vlogs on your UA-cam channel
This is probably my favorite video of yours. The soundtrack was amazing, the architecture in Mainz was stunning, all topped off with a Luna cameo!
Thank you! ☺️

Cobblestone was used as ballest in sailing ships. NY City re-used them for roads (alas, probably ALL paved over by now)

Oh oh.
Thank you! I hope my videos inspire others to live life to the fullest - in whatever way that looks for them! hahaha I was so thirsty!
LOVED Germany. The architecture, atmosphere and genuine friendliness was a treat. Learned Wienerschnitzel, a fav, is like a tenderloin. And was great. Have fun!!!
This was super cool. Thank you for sharing your experience 😊
Looked like such a wonderful mini-trip for you! I’ve been to various cities and towns throughout Germany in my younger days and agree that the architecture and cobblestone streets are breathtaking. Amazing job that you do!😊

@@JettingJuliaYour welcome and I am so glad 😊
I live in Germany, but I‘ve never seen a pillow like that. Mainz rhymes with Heinz. Well done! That wine you chose is delicious.
Thank you! 😊 Glad I pronounced it correctly!
Thank you Jetting
Hello Julia. The Black Forest is just a little bit south of Frankfurt, it is nice there if you love hiking. Regards from Berlin, Germany.
Awesome definitely got your steps in. Cool sites you able to show.Fantastic memories your making and sharing.
Loved this video so much.....wow, Germany looks so beautiful ! Thanks for sharing this trip on here Julia! Happy week!
Thank you! Germany was beautiful ❤️ I can’t wait to share more destinations with you all soon!
I like the vibe of this. 2 of my uncles were Air Canada and US Airways Pilots 30 years each. You’re video is great.
Hi Julia,
I am glad that you enjoyed the city of Mainz (your first pronounciation was 👍) That city is much better for a 24hrs.-layover than Frankfurt: smaller, a more historic city center, almost everything within walking distance.
Thank you very much for sharing your impressions of your layover in Mainz,
and always happy landings!
Thanks for the tour . Germany looks like a great place to visit .
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Be well! 🙏✈️
Hi Julia !, I flew to Bulgaria in 2013 and the downtown area was much like that !. I loved it !.
This was a very fun vlog! We've been to Germany twice and loved it both times so we are really hoping to make it back soon. Thanks for taking us around Frankfurt!
Amazing layover Julia
Wonderful experience. You were great on explaining what you saw. I have been to Frankfurt, Germany... A lovely place I though as well.
Julia, THAT'S the way to do a proper tour video in a pinch. Everything look awesome over there and hope to see what you'll offer next...
Thank you! This was one of my favorite videos to film & edit, glad you enjoyed.
I think it’s so cool how you are so brave to not only always explore a foreign city but a foreign country on your own!!
Thank you! I definitely always still keep safety in mind but I’m not afraid to go solo if I have to 😊
Such impressive and detailed architecture! As always Safe travels. 🙏 💕
Thank you! I loved the detailed architecture too, sooo pretty! 🤗❤️
Finally made it to this video..... looks like an amazing layover.
Wow! What a great vlog! I loved seeing all of the architecture & the cobblestone streets! The town was absolutely beautiful & yes, I think a must for dad & I! Thank you for the chocolate-I loved it:) 🤎
Thanks mama, you and dad would LOVE it there ❤️
Great video and I‘m glad you enjoyed Germany ! There are many other great cities as Cologne, Düsseldorf, Munich and my absolut favorite BERLIN !!! 😊 I am living between Cologne and Frankfurt. Please stay as positive as you are. You are such an Inspiration 😘 Nina.
The first music in this video was so eerie 🙈
That hotdog cheese food looked so delicious! 😋
0:36 - welcome to Mainz :-)
Thank you, I loved it!
I hope you had a great trip and have a great week
What a beautiful trip. Germany is so beautiful and seems so peaceful.
I spent 2 weeks in Germany … I loved it. I don’t know how to speak German… if the shop owners didn’t speak English they would go find someone that did.
Wow, you’re in my home country ❤ hope you enjoyed it
I just came across these “flight attendant life” and I find you and the stories very interesting. I’ll keep following ☺️ Since I can no longer travel as I did long ago, I can at least do it and enjoy it through you 😉 Thank you for the views 👍
Awesome Video Julia Germany looked so Beautiful
You got a late harvest Gewurtztraminer. It should be fabulous! Usually, late harvest wines are on the sweeter side but I've had late harvest gewurtztraminers that are not very sweet (thinking about how sweet a late harvest reisling can be). I'm interested to hear what you thought of it :-)
Great trip thank you for sharing 🌈
Thank you for watching 🤗
