Always enjoy Tim's low growl. The guys all had such funny grumpy faces, especially Tim. Like how it started in black & white & then shifted to color when they put on the glasses. I noticed they had the same girl & guy who were the fire dancers in "Playing With Fire" in the background as extras.

That's not actually the case, that everything is set to be done live. They layer studio recordings because they can, as per their own statements. They enjoy and understand that there are differences between study recorded versions and live versions and they appreciate both equally in different ways. Most songs they do also don't make it to their live shows so they use creative freedom like layering. It was definitely Austin on that high part on top.
This is one of my favorite Hunter Hayes songs! It sounds like freedom / flying with a home base to me. Home Free did a great job - the “rose colored glasses” were a cute touch 😍 I love how both you and Home Free helped me appreciate the song in a new way 😊

@@officialmortius I'd say that he's adding an element of distortion to his tone. He's not really pushing or straining, he's just adding some resistance in a way that distorts the pure tone. If you think of the sound as water coming out of a faucet and you stick a finger in the center of the flow it doesn't change the amount of water coming out but it will change the shape.
