Little trick with recall for Trinity is to run the opposite direction and playfully yell "here Trin!" make it a game of her catching you vs the other way around. I start with toys or treats with stubborn dogs. Great video guys!
Wackiest thing in Wall Drugs? Maybe Joseph walking through the store holding the camera whispering " looking for something wacky, looking for something wacky" qualifies. And Trinity is surely a wise puppy. She knows her limits on the trail. Great video. We've been here. Fun attraction for sure.
If you run out spots in the USA, you can go to the Canadian Badlands, it's about a hour and a half drive Northeast of Calgary, Alberta. The main attraction is the town of Drumheller where the giant Dinosaur museum of fossils and skeleton statues from actual Dinosaurs.
Thanks guys! We are bad friends!!! We need to catch up on your class C adventures!! I don’t know how you made time to watch this with all ya’ll have going on. 😂 -J
Great video guys!!! You’re exactly right, there are tooooo many places to see in this country!!! Wine bottle holder is the winner winner seafood dinner!!! Don’t know if you guys have ever been to Galleto Meadows in Borrego Springs, CA, but there is a collection of over 130 animal metal sculptures within about a 5 mile or so radius. The largest is a 350 ft long serpent or sea dragon which is most impressive!!! We boondocked for a few days there 2 years ago in Anza Borrego Desert State Park…loved it!!! 👍😃🍻
Had coffee and pie at Wall drug about 10 years ago, both were awesome. It is good Trin knows the truck means she needs to run and go pee, get some energy out. Very glad to see she has put on a little weight, she no longer looks like an abused puppy mill mother, you guys are doing awesome with her. Parenting is never easy. If you are heading east on Interstate 90 when you get to LaCrosse take Highway 14 to Madison, the scenery is worth it. When I would come back on Interstate 94 I would take highway 190 south off Interstate 94 and head through LaCrosse to get to Highway 14. Hope you guys stay safe and healthy.
Totally the wine bottle holder for the win! It was wacky and kind of creepy too. But the key chain the EMPLOYEE found (for Joesph) was a good try. That climb was sketchy! Glad you didn’t get hurt. Love how much fun you’re having.
My fiancee and I are older, and we adore you two. I can't wait until you get south. She can't travel with me, because her mom is 101 years old, and lives with her. You're a good man, Joseph. That is rare these days.
Thanks so much! We're looking forward to a leisurely trip south beginning late next week. The definition of "Leisurely" will depends very much on weather. 😂 -J
We’ve been to Wall Drug twice in the past twenty years or so, and boondocked at the Wall the last time. You missed out not having a meal at the cafe! Beyond the normal burgers and fries, the hot beef sandwich special is outstanding and underrated! I had it both times! Inexpensive and good! They even serve cheap beer when you want something more than ice water! Also of interest, the young people working there come from all over the world to spend their summers there and learning the language and culture!
I was with Kalyn and expected some eye popping with the keychain. The wine holder made me laugh out loud, so I guess it won the wacky award. 😅 I always love a good scramble so your backyard exploration was right up my alley, or gully.
Have driven that enchanted highway many times!! Stopped and enjoyed every sculpture and just marveled at American ingenuity!! So many memories!! Can't wait for you guys to start visiting the Museums and Veterans memorials!!
Lots of cool things there however, I think you two are the cutest couple ever! always know I’m gonna enjoy your content your transparency it’s always refreshing.
A good way to train her is get a 15 to 20 foot lead. It will work better than the extend lead because there will to be any tension. It will be loose so she will feel freer. You also might want to look into getting a GPS tracker on her. She is such a good dog. Just love her.
Trinity got the zoomies!!! 😂 as I’m sure you guys know try not to chase - stand there and just say treat and hold the treat in your hand and maybe she’ll come back more quickly?? But regardless, we all just love seeing Trinity and her awesome eyebrow color!! great video you both
Hi , Another great video, sorry mate team Kalyn for the win, that bottle holder just WOW. I so enjoy your videos, the way you both just go with the flow , the banter you have with each other. You have become my favourite RV,s show online. Just keeping it real, well done guys , look forward to your next video. Thankyou Aussie Fan 💜
Gonna give it to Joseph. Popping eyestalk buffalo was a good mix of localness(is that a word?), cuteness, and creepiness :) Love the pheasants, something about giant birds just gets me lol
Trinity trusts you guys so much and her crawling on her belly down those rocks was just precious❤ if I had to vote for the rockiest thing I think it would be the one the wine bottle holder but they were both great but the dog with the eyeballs popping out I seen that one several times throughout different stores so I don't think it's quite as unique like the dog upside down holding a bottle of wine
Ok I think the pup wine bottle holder is wacky and the keychain is weird, so points for both of you! 😂 I’m so happy you two share things in states that I never knew existed! More places to add to our travel bucket list! 🚐❤
After 2 years and over $1000 invested in training my dog to “come” reliably, I finally hired a trainer to teach me to use an e-collar properly. I was SO opposed to the idea, but it’s been the best training decision I ever made. After a short amount of training, I almost never have to buzz her and she has been 100% reliable about coming when called for about a year now-even when chasing rabbits or squirrels. She gets to run and burn off energy and I don’t have to worry. ❤🐾
Very much appreciate the rec. Is this ecollar a vibration or shock (no judgement! Just curious because I know both exist and want to know which worked so well for you) -J
I've been to Wall Drug. Ate there - food okay; had the $.05 coffee - not bad; bought a very nice western shirt - still wear it often. Wall dug is an okay place and your right , it's easy to get lost there. I really liked the dog wine bottle holder. Kalyn gets my vote.
We love The Black Hills and Wall. I’ve drove The Wall but not camped there YET. Morning visits to Wall Drug require the fresh cake donuts. Did you find the dragon?
I'm happy you are safe and not hurt from falling. Trinity is so lucky to have you both. She looks so healthy , but I have to know how much weight has she gain since you have welcomed her to your family? She looks awesome . ❤
You missed the best part of Wall Drug...the donuts!! We've made a point to go that way four times just to get the donuts! The museum is worth an afternoon too. I loved the enchanted highway. It's definitely on our list of places to visit. Thanks for the video!
@OpenRoading Well bummer! Next time we're there I'll ask if they contain dairy. I'm sure you aren't alone and if no dairy, they need to definitely advertise that!
A good way to train your dog is to use a shock collar. You don't need to shock them to get them to listen most of these collars have a vibrate button that is what I use on my dog. He is a 110lb German Shepard and the vibration mode is enough to get his attention
i love your channel so much. i was just there a couple months ago in the badlands boondocking spot and kept bouncing between there and Custer state park for 2 weeks. loved it so much after going back home to Chippewa Falls WI. for a few weeks i went back and did it all over again.
Born, raised and still in ND. Thanks for making a great video while traveling through. Honestly I’ve only been on the enchanted highway twice. The fish are my favorite as well. Safe travels.
Lord, you all scared me to death, hiking down the rocks. I think the wine bottle holder wins the wackiest thing. Definitely a great video thanks for taking us along.❤
Did you get to try the homemade ice cream while you walked around Wall Drug? I highly recommend it! I think Kalyn had a pretty wacky gift. The Badlands are certainly worth the trip. Been their once and it's spectacular
We didn't. Kalyn can't have dairy (Messes up her stomach) so we generally don't even look to see if ice cream places have dairy free options. Sometimes I'll try something but I don't like being the guy who's enjoying an ice cream cone in front of his wife who can't have one. 😁 -J
Lots of great destinations in this video!! I RVed North Dakota and loved it. Then I made my way to South Dakota were I was caught in a hail storm a couple days later. They were golf ball sized hail. I had to get a new tow vehicle and ended up getting a new RV! But I enjoyed the trip!😂
We stopped at Wall Drug once on a road -trip. Actually, make that twice. The first time around, it ended up being closed, as I think it was out of season. We came back around on our way back up about 3 weeks later, and it was finally open. Very quirky place. There's also a very cool car museum called Pioneer Auto in Murdo.
If i remember correctly, the sign at the bathrooms in Wall Drug was new to me. Since then, I've seen it elsewhere: Gentlemen, get closer, it's smaller than you think Ladies, please remain seated for the whole performance 😂
LOL! So we recently saw signs on the outside of the bathrooms in a resturant in whitehorse Large Letters "MENS" Above it in very small letters "this is not the" then below the "Mens" - again in small letters "bathroom. It's behind you. This is the ladies restroom" And then it was the same in reverse on the other one. -J
You all put in so much work with her she is blessed that you guys found her and then you give her a loving caring adventurous life ❤ I have a German shepherd and a Belgian Malinois and to teach them to come command I would make them sit and stay set the leash down on the ground like just a 6-foot leash and then tell her to stay walk away and each time you do it you can go a little bit further a little bit further out from her and then tell her to come and then reward her with a little treat like they make duck jerky for dogs it's at Walmart or anywhere and I just tear it up into tiny pieces and keep those pieces always with me that way when she comes give her a little piece of a treat for her reward for coming when called and also whatever command you want to use if you want to say here Trinity or come Trinity but just have one command you could even do this with a long long tie out thing and then use it as a tool to bring her closer to you if she's not doing the command I don't know if any of that makes sense
Did you visit the back lot at wall drug? I think k there is wackier stuff than what you guys found. Those jackalopes are weird. People don’t talk enough about the donuts at wall drug. They are good!
In the badlands one time my wife got a little close to the edge. She had to sit down. The sandstone made her slip and did not have the proper shoes. I went down to rescue her and wedged my butt between two rocks and she used my legs to climb out. This was also the same day i bought my first set of Merrells from Wall Drug. Glad you didnt tumble down the rest of way!
I vote for Kalyn's, the wine holder. Joe, trust yourself in the process of the competition! Lol Also, Kalyn, I was terrified you were going to slide/roll down that hill!! Gah! So glad you're ok! Joe, you are now my hero for helping Kalyn on that crazy narrow hill! Don't you guys do that again! 😅😅 Marilyn C PS: we camped at that Badlands boondock and loved it so much! Also, i can't believe we missed the Enchanted highway! Next time!
We are crazy from time to time. We've come across some rattle snakes in our travels - none yet in SD but I know they are there. Rattlesnakes fall under one of those categories for me where the fear outshines the actual statistics. Don't get me wrong - I don't want to get bit (can't stand snakes!) and I'm going to be cautious, but the actual chances of getting bit are super slim. Some quick googling shows me that in the state of South Dakota 160 people were hospitalized over the course of 11 years due to snake bites. Now there's no organized tracking data so let's be generous and double that number and it's 29 people per year, for the entire state. So... statistically I should be more afraid of getting injured in a car crash (141 traffic fatalities in 2020 in SD) than a snake bite. Just my (unsolicited) unique way of looking at things 😂 -J
I went Wall drugs in the 70s the only thing the same was all the highway signs. When we where there is was a traditional soda fountain small restaurant. Small gift shop and drugstore items. Very small most likely smaller than a modern CVS. Safe travels.
Buffalo with bulging eyes would be something I'd want, so that has to be a winner! We dry camped at Wall Drug when we were there. There's an area in the back parking lot RV's can stay. We did. Maybe we'll get to the Wall boondocking place you stayed at sometime.
If you ever find yourselves in South Western Ohio, then Jungle Jims in Fairfield is defiantly worth a visit. At 200,000 sq feet, it is a self described Foodies Paradise. It’s not so much a supermarket, more of a smorgasbord of international food that is well worth a visit!
Wine bottle holder wins for the wackiest thing. Kaylyn wins by default because Joe is disqualified for soliciting help. 😂 Looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks for sharing your wacky adventures.
I think I'm only 10 seconds into this video but I just wanted to pause it for 1 second and just thank you very very much for taking in that sweet dog and thank you so much for the videos of every Friday it is something I look forward to I have a lot of respect for the both of you I hope this doesn't sound weird but I just want to say thank you because you both show everything is really like and I just think you both are very very real and sins here and most of all they're clean videos I enjoy watching them
Those sculptures are amazing pieces of folk art. 100% respect to the extraordinary (and probably eccentric) artist.
As much as I have fun - the incredible amount of work that had to go to planning, building, and installing them. Just wow! -J
Little trick with recall for Trinity is to run the opposite direction and playfully yell "here Trin!" make it a game of her catching you vs the other way around. I start with toys or treats with stubborn dogs.
Great video guys!
100% That's how I got her to come back to the RV in the beginning of the vid (Not shown). -J

Thanks guys! We are bad friends!!! We need to catch up on your class C adventures!! I don’t know how you made time to watch this with all ya’ll have going on. 😂 -J
The key chain was wackier. My husband says your hubby did not cheat, he was being resourceful. 😅
Trinity is such a sweetheart! 🐕 We love wacky attractions! We'll never complain about those! 😊
Great video guys!!! You’re exactly right, there are tooooo many places to see in this country!!!

You don’t say you’re cheap….you say you’re frugal! That’s us!
haha! We are cheap in some ways... and in other ways we save up money to go see bears. 😁 -J
@@OpenRoading 😂😂😂
The wine holder wins for me!
Noooooo! 😂 -J
Totally the wine bottle holder for the win! It was wacky and kind of creepy too. But the key chain the EMPLOYEE found (for Joesph) was a good try. That climb was sketchy! Glad you didn’t get hurt. Love how much fun you’re having.
Hey! Did you have to throw me under the bus like that? 😂 -J
Wine bottle holder for the win! Love watching Trinity enjoy herself!
One of our favorite things is to watch her run. She has such a good time. -J
Trinity knows how to love life that's for sure! -J
Love it.Fair winds and following seas!

Love this episode!! 😊
Thanks! This series was very fun to shoot. I'm looking forward to editing the next two episodes! Just wrapping up tomorrows member video now! -J
We have passed the Geese SO many times and never took time to break off to see the rest. Thanks for showing these. Probably worth a detour!
Just a quick one! It's kinda fun to be honest! -J
I was with Kalyn and expected some eye popping with the keychain. The wine holder made me laugh out loud, so I guess it won the wacky award. 😅 I always love a good scramble so your backyard exploration was right up my alley, or gully.
Haha! I think laughing out loud is a good gauge for how wacky something is! -J
Great video! Loved all the sculptures! My favorite was the one with fish! As far as the wackiest thing from Wall Drug was the wine bottle holding dog?
I have to admit. I laughed when I saw it. 😂 -J
Have driven that enchanted highway many times!! Stopped and enjoyed every sculpture and just marveled at American ingenuity!! So many memories!! Can't wait for you guys to start visiting the Museums and Veterans memorials!!
We do hit 1 museum on this trip! -J
Lots of cool things there however, I think you two are the cutest couple ever! always know I’m gonna enjoy your content your transparency it’s always refreshing.

The sculptures were very cool!!.
Looking forward to more.😊
Next 2 videos! Lot's of wacky! -J
Joseph for the win!
I need to tally these. I was losing big at the beginning but I feel like the second day of voting is swinging my way! -J
16:33 Wall Drug signs remind me of Anderson's Pea Soup signs 100 miles up and down hwy 101 in CA 😁
If you stay going east on I-90 stop by Mitchell at the Corn Palace Great video again! Safe travels!
I believe it was closed on the day we were going to be going though so it didn’t make our list. -J
The WINE holder cute and imaginative is a winner
Man... I really thought the bug eyes would have done it. -J
Trinity got the zoomies!!! 😂 as I’m sure you guys know try not to chase - stand there and just say treat and hold the treat in your hand and maybe she’ll come back more quickly?? But regardless, we all just love seeing Trinity and her awesome eyebrow color!! great video you both
Trin loves running full out. She's quite fast too! -J
I vote for the wine holder. But I love ❤ Joseph’s expression when he shows the key chain eyes 👀 bulging. LOL😂
I thought it was cool! Kinda sad I didn't actually buy it. LOL -J
Now this was a great episode!!! Really enjoyed all the stops you made. The dog wine holder was the wacky winner.
Hi ,
Another great video,
sorry mate team Kalyn for the win, that bottle holder
just WOW.
I so enjoy your videos, the way you both just go with the flow ,
the banter you have with each other.
You have become my favourite RV,s show online.
Just keeping it real, well done guys , look forward to your next video.
Thankyou Aussie Fan 💜
So encouraging (Other than the bottle holder part). Thanks so so much! -J
Gonna give it to Joseph. Popping eyestalk buffalo was a good mix of localness(is that a word?), cuteness, and creepiness :)
Love the pheasants, something about giant birds just gets me lol
One thing we couldn't capture right at the Pheasant artwork was the wind whipping through the mesh gave off a really cool sound! -J
Awesomeness! Great video!
Trinity was a wild spirit before she found you, so it's no surprise she resist from time to time! She so cute
She's got her stubborn independent streak for sure! 😁 -J
@@OpenRoadingour veterinarian told us the in dogs, stubbornness equals intelligence. Trinity does love her zoomies.

We really enjoyed this “off the beaten path” adventure. -J
Very entertaining. You guys crack me up.
Awesome! That is one of our primary goals! A guaranteed smile on Friday (Or whenever people happen to click on it) -J
The wine holder is my pick for wackiest item! I like its funky/clever take on a mundane item. The keychain is cute too though.
I do like your definition there. Funny/clever take on a mundane item. Love it. Even though... you voted the wrong way on it. 😂 -J
Whenever operating an eye popping keychain I believe it is customary to make the sound "Awoooga" as the eyes pop out. 😁
My husband says Fisherman's Dream #1 💚
Safe travels 🙌🙌 God's peace
O love the Eyeballs!!
After 2 years and over $1000 invested in training my dog to “come” reliably, I finally hired a trainer to teach me to use an e-collar properly. I appreciate you pointing out these things - is there a book like the one you used in Alaska for those viewing areas?
When you said this was gonna be wacky, in no way was I expecting to see the three of you unlocking the parkour level! 😆👏
Joseph's key chain for the win!

I vote grasshopper. Nathan votes fish. Emma votes pheasants. Lily votes fish. Caleb votes all of them! 😊
It was close for us between the grasshopper and the fish. A lot of discussions were had. 😂 -J
Love the ice water tasting!!
haha. True foodies review free water. 😁 -J
We love The Black Hills and Wall. I’ve drove The Wall but not camped there YET. Morning visits to Wall Drug require the fresh cake donuts. Did you find the dragon?
We did! I think that's coming up in 2 weeks! 2 wacky attractions down, 7 to go! -J
The key chain for the win. Congratulations Joe. 🎉
I'm going to have to say the wine bottle holder for the win!
NOoooo!!!! -J
The wine bottle holder is the most unique.
But..... was it "Wacky?" 🤪 -J
I'm happy you are safe and not hurt from falling. Trinity is so lucky to have you both. She looks so healthy , but I have to know how much weight has she gain since you have welcomed her to your family? She looks awesome . ❤
Vets estimate she was 2 when we got her, she's now 3 and I believe she put on 15 lbs and holding steady. -J
Ive seen the wine bottle holders before so its Josephs popping eyes for the win!
You missed the best part of Wall Drug...the donuts!! We've made a point to go that way four times just to get the donuts! The museum is worth an afternoon too. I loved the enchanted highway. It's definitely on our list of places to visit. Thanks for the video!
Unfortunately donuts usually have dairy ingredients that mess Kalyns stomach up. 😪 -J
@OpenRoading Well bummer! Next time we're there I'll ask if they contain dairy. I'm sure you aren't alone and if no dairy, they need to definitely advertise that!
What a fun video! The wine holder is the winner for me 😀
Oh my goodness, what a fun whimsical video!! (except for Kalyn's fall, hope you're okay) Enjoy the journey!!
A good way to train your dog is to use a shock collar. You don't need to shock them to get them to listen most of these collars have a vibrate button that is what I use on my dog. He is a 110lb German Shepard and the vibration mode is enough to get his attention
I vote for the wine bottle holder. You have found the wackiest road & drug store on 1 trip.
Way to go. Trim likes to explore on her own.
❤🇨🇦 Cdn. Dave
Wine holder hands down…😂 couldn’t figure out what it was.. Wall Drug changed a lot since my last trip there back in 1987 👍
I won't tell you what year Kalyn was born in.... 😁 -J
i love your channel so much. i was just there a couple months ago in the badlands boondocking spot and kept bouncing between there and Custer state park for 2 weeks. loved it so much after going back home to Chippewa Falls WI. for a few weeks i went back and did it all over again.
I don't blame them. Custer is also beautiful and a place we want to go back to sometime! -J
Weve been there several times!
Camping at the Wall was our first big trip and we loved it! Also the 5 cent coffee at Wall Drug was very good!

That's right! I forgot about her dairy allergies 😢
Wine bottle holder for the wacky WIN!! 🥴 Sorry, Joe. Nice little tour though.
The fish one for sure!
I think those fluffy sandles were wackiest 😊
lol! A write in vote! 😂 -J
The kids say Ms. Kalyn wins because "Mr. Joseph kind of did cheat!" 😂
Only kind of though! -J
I gotta disagree with the kids😂. Joseph sought expert local guidance.

Wackier stuff for sale? We had to find something we could buy. We did breeze through there (not shown). -J
Trin makes it look so easy 😂 -J
@@OpenRoadingfour on the floor gives Trinity the evolutionary advantage.
I vote for Kalyn's, the wine holder. Joe, trust yourself in the process of the competition! Lol
Also, Kalyn, I was terrified you were going to slide/roll down that hill!! Gah! So glad you're ok! Joe, you are now my hero for helping Kalyn on that crazy narrow hill!
Don't you guys do that again! 😅😅
Marilyn C
PS: we camped at that Badlands boondock and loved it so much! Also, i can't believe we missed the Enchanted highway! Next time!
Kalyn won that one! My wife would so want that…with bottle of wine!!😂
Haha. It would be a conversation starter for sure! -J
I wouldn’t have ventured down in there. Rattle snakes! You guys out venturing on that loose hillside crazy.
Definitely the dog!! the eyeballs one was just goofy
Counselor... I need a clarification on the difference between wacky and goofy. 😜 😂 (I'm only mad because you chose Kalyn's over mine. lol) -J
@@OpenRoading You HAD to ask! 😂 OK!
Whacky my def: Weird, unusually funny, out of the norm!
Goofy my def: YOU! 😋

Wackiest - wine bottle holder
🐾 Trinity for the win 🐾🐕🦴😆👍
I went Wall drugs in the 70s the only thing the same was all the highway signs. When we where there is was a traditional soda fountain small restaurant. Small gift shop and drugstore items. Very small most likely smaller than a modern CVS. Safe travels.
Okay, the wine bottle holder definitely wins. I’ve seen the popper keychains at Five Below.
Hey! No hating on 5 below! They can sell wacky stuff too. 😂 (But it does make it less unique for sure) -J
It’s the most wonderful time of the week!
Nomadic view. Is awesome. Very windy but really cool place to stay
Buffalo with bulging eyes would be something I'd want, so that has to be a winner! We dry camped at Wall Drug when we were there. There's an area in the back parking lot RV's can stay. We did. Maybe we'll get to the Wall boondocking place you stayed at sometime.
It can't be beat! Just can be a challenge to find a level spot sometimes. 😁 -J
Omigosh you guys scared me half to death when Kalyn fell! 😮very scary! Hope you’re not too banged up. Y’all be careful now.
She’s doing fine! Just a bruised ego with Trin waltzing across with no issues after. -J
That sounds really interesting! -J
Key chain most definitely!
Wine bottle holder wins for the wackiest thing. Kaylyn wins by default because Joe is disqualified for soliciting help. 😂 Looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks for sharing your wacky adventures.
I think I'm only 10 seconds into this video but I just wanted to pause it for 1 second and just thank you very very much for taking in that sweet dog and thank you so much for the videos of every Friday it is something I look forward to I have a lot of respect for the both of you I hope this doesn't sound weird but I just want to say thank you because you both show everything is really like and I just think you both are very very real and sins here and most of all they're clean videos I enjoy watching them
Dog wine thingy for the win🎉
Love the keychain!
