Tying a Peacock Hurl Nymph with Kevin LaGoo

Kevin LaGoo demonstrates tying the Peacock Hurl Nymph, a simple fly he uses while volunteering for Project Healing Waters. This is a great beginner fly using only three materials: hook, peacock hurl and flash. A good trout fly that you can tie up quickly in several variations which Kevin discusses.

For at least a century, a peacock herl body with what we call a soft hackle collar has been considered a top fly.
It’s one everyone should have, and Ive used them in all sizes to good effect.
