Doctor Doom is such a great villain. I love how much he cares for his people. I also love how he is a master of tech and magic. I just like the idea of a tech user who also uses magic. These reasons and more are why Doctor Doom is my 6th favorite Marvel villain.
Before reading the books of doom my version of doom was FF 2005 with Jessica Alba. Yeah. And I’m afraid the majority of people don’t know the real doom.
Citizen Of The World My top 5 favorite comic book villains are 5. Killmonger 4. Poison Ivy 3. Venom 2. Joker 1. Harley Quinn Yes I know three of these are officially antiheroes, but I only consider very few characters antiheroes. I could’ve probably done a top 10 comic book villains list. Since I have top 10 DC villains and a top 10 Marvel villains list. However, I just wanted to say my top 5.
Citizen Of The World See 2 things. 1. I don’t like the term antihero. Since most of the characters that are called antiheroes I don’t consider antiheroes. The characters you just mentioned. Punisher is a villain in my eyes, Red Hood is just a justifiable villain, Constantine is just a hero with a smoking problem and other things, and Blade is a hero to me. There are very few characters that I actually consider antiheroes. The only ones that come to mind off the top of my head are Red X, Namor, and Meta Knight. My definition of antihero is different from what other people define it as. 2. I have no way of reading comic books because I don’t live anywhere near a comic book store. Even if I did everything is closed. Before you recommend online comic book reading I hate reading books online with a burning passion. A digital copy of a book is no substitute for the real one.
Quite honestly one of my favorite character of the marvel universe . He feels like an balance mix of black panther as ruler as his country. Doctor strange with his magic and Iron man for his tech. No matter how you feel about the way he rules his country he made it better.
Doom saves his enemies child. Names it. AND SAYS HE WILL PROTECT IT IF IT EVER NEEDS IT! NOT WHEN HE WANTS TO. That right there. Is why I love doom. He is evil. But he is still kind. Think about it. His people love him. And then he selflessly says she is welcome whenever she feels she is need it. Not only that but if she NEEDS his power. He is willing to man up and help. Sure he will fight Ried and the others but that kid he pretty much said "This child is off limits to any form of harm." And this is doom we are talking about.
Dr. Doom is my absolute #1 All time Favorite Marvel (and Comics) Supervillain! And he's more of an anti-hero, he has a saving grace- he always keeps his word, once given, and he works fantastically with most superheroes & supervillains he works with. Its a rare Dr. Doom tale that falls short of expectations. Hope to see him in the MCU and teaming up with (or dealing with) Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, & Captain Marvel. Valeria was Doc's girlfriend in his younger days in Latveria. Maybe he can even be the Infamous Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I think that adopting an orphaned boy and making him his heir just because his mother was loyal to him and died in his presence should also count. Was done in one of his old comics when he was still a full time villain so was even more shocking. I would really like to see Doom interaction with Kristoff his son more frequently since he seemed that genuinely cared for the boy, but sometimes (like in Superior Ironman) writers seems to forget that Kristoff exist.
Would be pretty interesting, I could see the MCU giving us a really interesting anti-hero in Doc Doom. They did surprise us with good guy Skrulls after all
With galactus also rumored for the MCU, I would be totally ok to see Doom fighting with the heroes to stop him. But later to turn on them with stolen powers of Galactus.
Doom: *finds out about this and crushes and shatters glass* “Who dares bully the Goddaughter of Doom.” Valeria: *sniffles* “Billy” Doom: *calls school* “I hear that there is a boy named Billy bullying MY dear goddaughter. Who dares to hamper the brilliance and confidence of Doom’s goddaughter and who is the teacher that allows such distasteful actions to take place within their classroom”
As a side note, Dr. Doom was created during the height of the cold war. The United States, while they did not like the Doctor, acknowledged that Latveria was the only country in eastern Europe not under Soviet domination. Therefore that country got full diplomatic rights.
