Bun 1.1: Bundows is here
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 бер 2024
- Bun 1.1 adds Windows support! Bun is a fast JavaScript runtime, package manager, test runner, and bundler all-in-one. JavaScript is complicated. Bun exists to make JavaScript simpler.

as awkward as devs are one camera, its in my eyes the only way and best way to do this stuff.
That's how you know bun is legit 😎
The lighting, focus and interactions make it seem like they're straight from a video game ;) But yes, this is good
@@lucappelman8558 Maybe they used AI to do that... or it's just a trip.. I don't know it's not that deep or important the release is awesome
They're authentic and will get better with time, just like Bun :P
Just give them a damn table or desk so they can rest their arms as they talk instead of just standing still, they will probably feel 10 times mode natural
I still love the fact that they took the authentic side of things, they probably did it by themselves, thinking devs should talk to devs
Even if they obviously are not comfortable with it.
Also I though it was an april fools joke but this is gonna be one heck of a tool to use
This is one of the nerdiest presentations I've seen lately. Reminds me of 80s and 90s.
Their posture and t-shirts tell everything.
I felt the same thing. I like them.
And that is just positive thing!
@@wltr-dev Yeah, of course. Bring back the glory of the nerds :D
And that’s great! Love it - pure passion.
i thought bundows was an april fools joke
it isnt?
@@reiskoryphae nope, it's real!
It kind of is 🐧
i have been using it since more than a week or so
Me too
Fireship guy is gonna go crazy...
waiting for his video drop
Waiting for his reply to your comment 😃
I'm sure he already done a video on bun tho?
though I suppose it is an udpate
Ok don't bother reading my prior comments
why all of them look like they have a huge machine gun pointed at them behind the camera
the founder guy is really like about to explode and just barely holding himself back
I thought we all looked like that socially. Wait, don't you code?
someone please give them a chair
They write javascript, please understand
Jarred looks like a bun
As a developer or rather someone who hasn't been infront of cameras a lot, I know how hard it can be to be on the camera. So good job bun team!
the presentors are so akward on camera and god i love it, keep up the good work.
This is totally heygen right?
It's like those stereotypes where an Asian is good at math or a white person sits in an all-Asian conference room for prestige only. These guys are so awkward the first thing that comes to your mind is that they have to be great programmers.
@@happy_thinkingjmjmjmjj
You guys are so young and are already on cutting edge as engineers. Thank you so much for making this video inspite of being introverts. I relate to that anxiety. You guys rock and are inspiration to all the budding devs everywhere.
Code report gonna go CRAZY
Excited about fireship's video on this
The audio is soooooooo daaaaaaamn crisp. God its like ASMR.
The production is perfect, but then their awkward 1000 yard stares are just killing my soul from within 😂
they need to lower the audio quality 😭 because it feels so weird. maybe add some background music
@@angeloverlain I agree. Not necessarily lower audio quality, but pure silence makes it feel very unnatural. I think it's a noise reduction thing.
I love too see awkward technical persons in front of the camera instead of marketing people using buzzwords they don't even know the meaning of lol.
Keep up the good work guys. You're doing an amazing job and please continue like this :)
With 13 contributors thanked and an April 1st release you know this is going to be good.
"Bungenieer" I needed that word
😂😂
bun intended
Bun release for Windows:👔🥶
My wedding day:🗿
April fool's day: 💀
I am also waiting for the bun to the windows
happy birthday bro
@@kxhu yo💀💀
@@raviking7601 I ultimately ended up continuing to use Node.js.
Please don't joke. 😢🙏
That's a "bug in Bun" 😊
Why does this feel like Pied Piper ad 🙃
True
I was gonna quote Richard's speech just a second ago.
@@mohitjain5552 I hope they find their Russ Hanneman...
I watched this whole video
and did not understand a single thing
but for some reason I feel like my life has improved
This better not be a joke
bro is making the DON'T MOVE challenge
Mannequin challenge
Bro is generated by AI
brodie need to chill with that entrance i almost grabbed a weapon smh
0:01 lmfao
lmao he is comin for me dude!!
The chosen date for this event doesn't inspire any *confidence* 🧐
Bungenieers really talked like technical people not marketing stunts, that was so cool... our bundows friends welcome to the party, we there already @linux 😁
Bungineer, Product Bunager, I loved it.
That might be a "bug in bun" haha
I must say, the way you present your product is very pretty and comforting.
Great job, keep it up!
I love Bun! Thank you for all the hard work you do, I know it can sometimes be a thankless task. Bun is seriously cool and I LOVE that Node has a competitor now.
Damn, this is a huge update. Good stuff guys, keep it up!
The trusted dependencies list is my favorite feature. It really is a safegaurd for ensuring security in applications by letting you know what packages are executing.
Probably the best of the presentation I've seen that includes core team members instead of someone flashy. Looking forward to use Bundows! Kudos to the team.
Don't tell me, this is april fools joke 😢
yes.. it's a joke. We are still at v0.5.3 alpha. No cluster support from NodeJS
Lol
Wait what? How can you comment 9 days ago when this video only published 20 minutes ago????
@@hongphuc5497 scheduled post
@@MelroyvandenBerg doesn't seem to be a joke, installer works and I made a test project, seems to work fine
4:54 I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS FEATURE FOR 5 YEARS NOW. AMAZING
You guys are killing it! Thank you so much for this amazing update!!!
Compiling a static binary bundling SQLite is awesome. I hope Bun 2.0 throws in a web view.
ngl I expected a rick roll after running that command
That guy in the intro genuinely scared me shitless. It looked like he was about to punch me
Great job guys, love the focus on content!
Hey guys, I used to not know what to do with my hands when presenting either and I found myself feeling quite unnatural trying to figure it out. A hack you'll see used by a lot of TED talks etc is to simply gently clench one hand into a fist, and then the other hand grabs the wrist above the first, and you let it just sorta hang down. It's a totally neutral position and means you don't have to think about it.
You guys are seriously crushing it
As a Developer and a stage fright person, I know how hard it can be to be on camera, love how you guys yourself are making videos to showcase your stuff. Good job bun team!
wait i feel this video is ai generated
😅
focus on hands
Nah its just devs are weird
Nah, just nerds in their natural habitat
@@realldonaldtrump lol
I love you guys, thank you for your contributions!
Wait a minute 1st April?
Suspicious.
Fool
yes.. it's a joke. We are still at v0.5.3 alpha. No cluster support from NodeJS
How is your comment 9 days ago when the video is just like 30 minutes ago (at the time of upload)?
@sanchogodinho probably glitch in reality, happens from time to time 🐓
With this type of presentation I immediately feel more confident in the product
I'm super excited for the future of Bun!
Excited to see developer coverage and benchmarks of this release. Bun's performance claims have always been... dubious, to put it lightly. Real world scenarios just aren't as simple as "JavaScriptCore is faster". However, I want to be skeptical, not cynical. This is a major release you guys should be proud of, and I hope it turns out to be a huge success.
as of now it seems a drop in replacement for my webapps. Pretty nice having my apps run faster "just like that".
how Bun has 70k stars in github if the benchmarks are dubious?, honest question, maybe is the marketing, or?
Nice announcement! My feedback on presentation though: Stay relaxed and comfortable when speaking. Ashcon did an awesome job using hand gestures to convey points, but the other presenters felt stiff keeping their hands at their sides. Loosen up, it goes a long way keeping us engaged!
I agree, Ashcon did a great job and the small change in hand gestures with the others would make the presentation feel more relaxed and overall more professional.
I thought I was watching an AI generated video
thats how you can tell theyre good programmers lol
Guys, they aren't presenting at WWDC - Chill
Respect your opinion, but I think they were fine. These guys have probably been no-lifeing it for weeks to get this stuff out, arms full dinosaur mode over their machines. I'd need to stretch my arms too! Commend the bun team on their new release and helpful presentation.
I love these fellas and love bundows so far!
To make these shots less awkward, just zoom in a bit more and leave some more headroom on the top above your heads. Third guy did great though.
Great work guys.
Goddamn jared
Look what they've done to my boy 😢
He lost all his hair for this bun release 😢
from developers to developers. good luck bun team!
Amazing update, great work by the whole team. Congrats!
You know the update is gonna be good when you see how committed devs are.
Fantastic!
Keep pushing the tech forwards.
Thanks so much guys!
This is truly marvelous work.
The day node is finally replaced with a new king
Did you notice 1st April?😭
Sorry to say this, but this is not gonna happen for at least a year.
@@ShakilShahadat Yeah, I know, I just have high hopes for this project. The thing stopping me from using it full Remix/Next.js support. Also I know there are other features waiting like HTTP/2.
@@lucdevnet My team is waiting on HTTP/2 as well.
Why 9d ago 😭😭
UA-cam recommendation may gain you a new user. I impressed with bun's advantages, and I will try it.
I wasnt paying attention until i heard the removal of terminate batch job
This looks so threatning. Don't stop!
The voice is very clean and clear. The words are very concise.
Great job guyss, congrats on the release
Bun's video production is top notch. Very cool!
the announcers are hella uncomfortable. definitely feels like a developer out of his element.
This honestly sounds amazing! I might actually try to use it now.
This reminds me of all of the dev teams doing their conference presentations on Silicon Valley
Today i just showed a colleague my bun installation on windows + wsl and on my mac - showed him the speed, the build speed, he was bedazzled. When asked how can he install it on windows, I said - they didn't make it yet! Lol - I literally last installed bun on my machine 3-5 days ago - and now this video just came up on my feed like gospel!. Went to your website and yes - there is windows install command - which was not there before!
The guy at 3:15 is the most confident guy out of them all
Great work guys. Awesome presentation good job
Bun shirts go hard I NEED ONE
I LIVED FOR THIS, THANK YOU
You figured out the apple style presentation faster than Samsung
🥰🥰🤩🤩Thank you for creating bun!!!😍😍
Thank you for doing this great job!
Is this video made by AI?
I like how bun's mascot is actually one of the humans.
"I can see what he is doing. He is cooking."
I couldn't see this video over my huge native application-trained biceps.
I like this team. Thanks Bun
I've been waiting for a windows release for bun. Let's GO!
Thank you for your work
I don't know why but I smiled throughout the whole video
He is the human version of "bun".
Why is everyone commenting about their presentation, focus on the product. I'd rather have these guys present a product than some CEO that talks about ambiguous features that are geared towards investors
idk what the bun this is but im mesmerized
Yeah, they are super awkward on camera, but I am really impressed by the courage you guys put up to make this video. Loved it and yeah, looking forward to Bun.
I was waiting for them to say "April fool guys" at the end of the video.
Syntax highlighting in the stack trace, that's a feature I can see coming to a lot of other languages
this doesn't look like an april fools joke
super high quality video.
YESSSSSS! Bun is amazing JS runtime.
They are the Bungers
Hot Cross Bun, happy easter!
🔥🔥🔥 This is going to be fire
can you ask these guys to please stop staring at me
Really exciting stuff!
Great video! Excited to use bun! I think the videos would look more natural of you guys were sitting at your desks rather than standing up while presenting.
Great work , Go Go Bun team!!!!
Bun has a bright future 🎉
Love your work guys! And yes, it's so HAAAAAARD to talk in front of the camera
Super!!! This is awesome!!! Thank you a lot!!! 🎉
you are doing great! Keep it up!
I don't even use JS anymore, but I really appreciate the ecosystem growing in the way Bun is doing. This performance improvements are no joke thing
Except for the brown guy with the blue shirt, he's as calm as a brown cucumber
