🎵 I'm Spinning Around 🎵 Get Outta My Waayy :) Interesting vlog Flora, you must be over the moon with the ❤rate recovery numbers. Wouldn't worry about blood pressure, up & down like a fiddler's elbow ! Overall, shows you've reaped the benefits of all that hard work, after a lengthy spell of EVBCovFluNovoMonkeyPox lurgy ! Definitely looking a lot "Happier chicken" post this test, than the last 😁 You, Fi & Ti have a great day ☀️ 🏃♀️
My questions is if you can trust the results of a random lab test. It would be interesting to have the same test done in a different lab and see if the results are the same.
Interesting video. Do not trust their VO2 Result vs the Bath University though which uses a much better standard. An 8 increase is seriously significant and based on what you were saying about your last 18 months it does seem highly unlikely. I am yet to do any VO2 tests, but am a trained athlete and would definitely recognise that sort of increase. How do you feel about it? Also, the 9% BF cannot be correct?!
Having a background in data science and fitness I always these deep dive fitness test videos. The muscle oxygen data was interesting, as you imply, a VO2 max in high 50s would be typically be able to run a sub 3 hour marathon. I'm guessing the protocol you used was some form of ramp test, I guess like anything it's hard to exactly compare exactly unless the same protocol was used previously (and ideally the same equipment).
@@neil1974uk yes exactly this. The other test was more like 30 minutes I believe so would have showed up a lower VO2 max - I believe most tests are 10-15 mins, 20 mins for elites and the like. So hopefully (🤞) this is more accurate & can be replicated next year!
I'm 47 years old and have a VO2 max of 57. I do run about an avg of 60 km/week but I can't run a marathon in 3 hours. More like 3:15 if I really put in a good marathon block and everything clicks.
My garmin says 52! It said 54 last year when I was in proper training. Lots of reasons why it might not show up higher, probably partly because I purposefully don’t do max efforts nowadays. We’ll see if it starts to change as I pick up the workload a bit ☺️
@ Thanks Flora, I’ll be curious to see what happens! At 45 years old my Garmin tells my V02 max is 46 which is supposed to be pretty good for my age, I’ve often thought of taking the test to see if the difference
@@lazzaboyman8003 hey! Depends which one you get. I got extra bits I didn’t show in here, but this link will show the different tests & get you 15% off: alixr.co.uk/?ref=Flora
I think/hope the BF% is quite off. Female *Essential* body fat is about 10%. It is very difficult and unhealthy to maintain a BF% less than that. Those who maintain such a low BF% will likely have hugely compromised health, immunity and fertility. If you take a look at examples of females with about 10%, you will find physique competitors. Their bodies are much more cut than yours with great muscle definition and visible abs. I am very surprised the test administrator did not either realize your result of 9.7% was incorrect or counsel you that it is not healthy for females.
@@Bobbie-e5k I agree it seems low!! But we did speak about a lot more than I shared on this vid in person, it just didn’t make the cut. I figured the vlog was long enough!
@@Bobbie-e5k if you’ve seen any of my other content you’ll know I’ve spoken at length about this subject since I started this channel. Honestly when I was filming the results voiceover it was days after I had spoken to Alixr about it so I had forgotten what we discussed, and either way and it isn’t the bit I wanted to focus on.
RIGHT just coming back to this because I also wanted to know what happened! When we spoke about the results on the testing site, the results were higher. When I eventually got the full report, for some reason just the subcutaneous fat levels were shown instead of overall fat. They’ve apologised for the error and I will clarify with others too. It’s a busy time of year, things sometimes do slip through the net, but thanks for bringing it to my attention.
@@shaylorcyclingwahoo goodness, I guess this is why people don’t share their data. I always mention that this is *HIGHLY personal and can’t be compared between people* for exactly this reason. Thanks for watching!! Alixr have shared a 15% link if you want to book the VO2 max or any other test: alixr.co.uk/?ref=Flora
Great video. I've been to the Alixr guys twice now for vo2 max tests and really value the results
I love videos like this. Great data to get back from the testing. Congrats on 58 vo2max, that's amazing improvement! =D
Thank you! I always find them so interesting too, which is why I wanted to put as much into this one as possible! Glad you enjoyed ❤it
No don't spoil :(
Congrats Flora! Going through the misery of the VO2 max test was worth it to see such a great number 😄
@@hotelvasthorizon thank you!! Agreed 😅
I always find the testing super interesting! Thank you for sharing! You’re scoring is amazing especially, after ebv. Go, Flora! 🙌👏💗
Wow vo2 max 58 that’s amazing, well done flora 👌great video with lots of information 👍
VO2 max of 58 is very impressive , well done Flora
Found this really interesting, thank you for the insights, really useful for another data geek 👍

This is great Flora, I’m curious if your Garmin had estimated your V02 max and if it was different to this test?

What does your watch predict your V02Max as? Be interested to know how accurate watches are.
@@tomgubbins it says 52 atm! But since I’ve not been doing any all-out efforts (purposefully) it’s not surprising it’s not 100% accurate.
