A Codeplug is just a selection of settings and channels. You can program channels in by hand. Or you can get the Moonraker Codeplug, which has virtually everything, but is extremely complicated and populated with too much stuff.
I don't get it. I understand how this is useful for manual dial, since if you already have a contact programmed in and you'd like to access a different tg or pc, you can dial it and it goes away after some time to the original tg, but how does this work on your normal channels with a pre programmed tg?
That's an excellent question. And i'm not certain because I don't have the radio hooked up at the moment to anything that can give me dmr. I would guess that channels would operate the same if they are dmr
I can’t find the page to change hold time in my CPS for my 868 or my 578. I am using the latest firmware and CPS for both radios. I recall seeing the page you show in the past that you show but no more or any other page where I can change hold time. Evidently my manual hood time need to be increased so I can do manual dial. When I try it goes away after I key it up and try again in a few seconds. 73 W5HJ
Hi Hank, it is in optional settings. And there is a tab on the right hand side called digital function. On the 868 I believe you cannot choose infinite
@@digitalanaloguehamradio yes I figured that out and have changed my delay to 30 seconds on my 868 which works fine for me. I will also do my 578 today.
Hi there , I've searched everywhere for some help and found your videos a great help . I am stuck with a massive codeplug I'm trying to prune and add bits of other codeplugs to. Is there a way to delete multiple channels from the list and move multiple channels up and down in the CPS? I've tried using Notepad ++ to edit CSVs but when imported back it leaves large gaps in the channel list, same with zones ...i don't much like the Anytone 878 CPS
do a search for N0GSG contact manager. I would think it would do what you’re after I can’t guarantee it. But allows you to mess about with Codeplug’s to your hearts content.
Good question Brad. If it is set to the default settings. You can dial into a talk group but after a while it will disconnect you. The digital hold times can be altered so you can stay on their indefinitely on the 878 and above
@@n8ibz1 it’s very easy to make another ID. Sorry to hear that. Nowadays you require a password which is set up in your DMR brand Meister self-care. Add it prevents people being able to use your number
I had flat quit using my Anytone because of these settings. Thank you.
Awesome thanks for watching
Thanks for doing these videos ! Very helpfull to have these settings explained in a way anyone can understand.
Thank you mate for the feedback
Thank's for that. Another piece in the 878 puzzle drops into place :)
Awesome. Remember I have loads of . 878 Videos in my collection.
Did not know this. Thank you for putting this on UA-cam. How did you learn this?
I have done some work beta Testing the radio.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for video do my head in going from a talk group then to find out i was back on the same one
Glad it helped it is a silly system. Why anyone would want to go back to where they were before is beyond me.
Thanks, very useful. Explains why when I do a manual dial on a specific channel it's kinda stuck there forever for me.
Yes and everybody’s use case is different. I like it to stay there forever. Some people just like to visit a talk group for an hour etc..
Hi there if I bought a anytone dmr. Radio in the UK can I listen to all the UK channels on it with out putting. A code onto it.

If the hold time is short does that mean if there is no activity on the channel (talk group) you may become unlinked?
if hold time is short the link will go and you will be backon tg you were on before. Although there are exceptions

In CPS, export the channel table, do mass updates in Excel, then import it back.
Can I access zello with it?
No Afraid not
Context? Why is this important? Use case?

I had my dmr I’d stolen and then it made my radio useless. Lol how I don’t know but someone in Salt Lake City was using it, why, have no idea
I’m in WV

If you have a brand Meister self-care account add a password to it. And They will not be able to use it anymore
