I’m very mixed on the show. It’s definitely not Goosebumps, but I somewhat enjoy the alternate visions for the stories from Goosebumps. The most impresssive part of the show is the darker approach to the stories. I don’t blame you for not entirely enjoying these episodes. I would rather an anthology series, but they don’t make shows like that anymore, unfortunately. This episode and episode 6 are definitely the standouts here. I’m glad to hear everyone’s opinion on this show. Thank you for these reviews Michael!
They butchered all the goosebumps story lines. They could’ve stuck with the anthology storylines. Unfortunately, Disney has to cater to the young folks.
I really feel like these remakes are made to please THE MOB by rewriting history to what they see fit. History is not written by the victor but rather THE MOB. Scary to think about what can even be trusted anymore if even goosebumps can be cast into the sacrificial fire that THE MOB continue dance and sing around...
Your review sums up what I did thought about this episode, it's the best of the bunch of episodes but it's still not enough to make me care further about the other aspects of the show.
I am not a big fan of the Go Eat Worms book (imo it’s kinda one of the bad goosebumps books) so even if they ruined it I’m not gonna care much. Also, saw the first two episodes, and stopped watching after I saw what they did with the haunted mask (did not like how it went from generic slasher mask to Gollum from LOTR). Also, out of all the characters, Lucas is the only one I like, and I think he could work well in a Goosebumps book (maybe as one of the characters that does pranks and stuff like that)
I definitely think that was the best episode so far (although I do like the Slappy one a lot). I feel like a Goosebumps serialized show could work. An idea I had was to maybe center the story around the Phantom of the Auditorium, since that clearly ties into goosebumps. And maybe all of the haunted objects are cursed because of the phantom’s influence. With more respect to the source material, better writing and acting, and less focus on relationship drama, it could work.

I wanted a serialized Goosebumps show though.
I don’t think this show’s gonna get better Michael.
Of course not, but him tearing it to shreds is the only joy an OG fan like me can get from this series

You can't blame "catering to young folk". It's a kids horror series.
The problem is plain old bad writing and disrespect for the sourcr material.
Moving to a new place gives me Goosebumps 'pun intended ' California to Nevada❤❤
I feel like the drama works...if it was in a different show. Goosebumps should just be focused on horror, twist endings, humor and stupid stuff.

I'd love to be on your Q&A. Do I need to provide my question now or later?
Great video, what is the best series for the goosebumps covers in your opinion.

I watched the first episode of the show and stopped. It was horrible.
Im just sad there isn't a kaiju worm :(
