Don't you think it depends on at what height we are stopping the paper... for example, if the paper is thrown from origin, and the ground is x - axis then you are right. but if you either shift the ground up at x = 3, the answer is different or if you start somewhere on the negative y axis But if the question is to find range of projectile when it is maximum your answer is correct.

Range for the question is R=2qv³B/mg² v is the velocity projected. Initially velocity is only in y direction not in x direction .so that velocity exerted a magnetic force in X direction=qvB .

You can check that by right hand rule point thumb upward and all fingers in direction of magnetic field.Palm gives us direction of force .you might feel it as left but if you see from the position infront of you it is right side .Sir told in the vedio once check that. and consider equations and force it respective directions.

We can calculate it by analysing upward and downward motion independently
This is helical motion then treat like as same concept that projecting a charge in magnetic at angle theta , v costheta help in forward and force perpendicular to v sintheta componet help in circular motion. In this force components mg helps in downward motion and force due to magnetic field helps in circular motion. By write both eq in horizontal and vertical we can easily calculate many parameters like pitch of helical motion, time period for revolution, angular momentum etc.

@@harshthakur7204 nah when 1)they collide they have same height from ground + distance travel in horiontal dirn is same ,collide at same time 2) using momentum cons we can easily find velocity in x and y as gravity is non impulsive 3) vectorially apply defination of e and find velocity of each mass , then do m1v1 +m2v2 /m1+m2 (again vectorially) or can do only in y dirn because ultimately we have to find max height so only v(in y dirn) is required
Sir I don't face much problem in concepts and analysing questions but mathematics hinders my physics, when in advance questions differential equations and complex integration is used, I fail to understand approach. One such example is charge projected towards current carrying wire, and we are supposed to find distance if closest approach. I was able to make a some of equations but couldn't find answer by compiling then together. What should I do?
