right now this is my figure of the year. the transformation is a blast and the robot mode is gorgeous. the cannon mode i've never even used..but still its the best figure i've gotten all year.
I keep this guy at work to display and play with and, by far, he is one of my favorite Transformers as of late. I didn't know much about his comic version, but he is a 9/10 for me! HIGHLY recommended.
Nice tank and robot mode but the 2nd alt mode seems like a last minute thrown together idea. I'm really digging the nice blue colour to him, you don't get many transformers nowadays that have a colour like that and a very unique head. What I'm liking about the new Generations line is that its covering all these other lines with their releases, we still get universe classics robots like Thrust, you get comic figures and war for cybertron, there's alittle bit of something for everyone, nice review
Not sure if this has been mentioned but I am thinking the M17 is a reference to the Marvel Comics #17 in which Straxus first appeared. Picked him up yesterday. Very happy. Great review!
I haven't seen much at all of the generations figures in stores. I've only managed to get my hands on war for Cybertron Optimus, and just barely. I sure hope they become more abundant as time progresses.
hey peaugh! i'm into tanks and i already have voyager bludgeon, so i'm wondering what else is available, such as darkmount and hailstorm? and which would you recommend?
Now all we need is a Leader Class Spanner and a Cybertronian mode Blaster and we could recreate the cover to the comic! Yea...Leader Class Spanner. We'd see Animated Omega first.
when ordering on Kapow toys and it says You can buy them anyway and check the quantity we have in stock for immediate deliver in the checkout process. does that mean you can look at how there are or you have to buy before you can see how many there are
@narutoman876 I actually got him the same day and he is beautiful. The 0% kibble is amazing. I'm waiting to get some more cash to pick up WFC Prime and Soundwave so I have them all(i'm not counting cliffjumper as he is the cheapest most over-used repaint in my opinion)
Very Awesome Figure of the Comic Legend now we just need one of Thunderwing & I think all Original Comic Characters will finally have a Toy. BTW Man are you feeling alright your Voice sounded kinda Down?
Straxus at last !!! god I loved this moronic brute :D Pity they didn't even try to give him a toy form in G1 , it wouldn't be that hard really - a flipformer would do. Way better than what pictures suggested. We've aleardy got the team of his rival so maybe time for a new Blaster and Perceptor ? The char I'd love to see the most is Scrounge though... so simple and so much potential! Sweet review :)
Not to point out faults or anything, but you forgot to mention pulling apart the arms so you can bring his torso down and peg into his waist. I know its common sense, but just seems a little misinformed since you're pretty thorough with your transformation explanation :)
The alt-mode is descent, the middle mode really is meh, the robot mode on one hand looks cool, but also has a few very irritating spots like the gaps at the ankles.
You know that its not really a review if you don't give your opinion. Do you like it? Is it totally awesome? How does it compare to other generations figure? Do you think this will be the best of the generations line? SPEAK UP!
Man you REALLY need to up the volume of your voice in the actual review, I have to turn the volume up to hear you and when I do that the intro blasts my eardrums. You should be able to do it easily in Audacity or any other audio editing program. He looks a little too fat in robot mode but he has some nice detailing and great articulation. Vehicle mode looks a little SD but it it doesn't look too bad. I'll probably snag him.
@TheShardFenix Megs has to be the best deluxe in a LONG time WFC prime is great but he has a little kibble and a little floppy, the WFC Cons are much better then the autobots. Cliffjumer at least has a new head this time, but still pretty lame
I have vague memories of Straxus from the comics...cool to see he's getting a toy.
I love the stories involving Straxus.

Wow! Even as a kid I never imagined there would be a toy for Straxus. Next thing you know there will be a toy for Scrounge.
Great review, peaugh. Can't wait to add him to my collection.

JUST paid for one, very much looking forward to him getting here!
this figure reminds me of cobra commander (mainly the face and color scheme)
Just got this guy today! Does anyone else notice that he has the Triforce of Wisdom on the back part of his tank mode/backpack?
this is an awesome figure! glad i picked him up.lookin forward to more videos!
i did not expect his turret to be the legs.
thats different.
very nice work that provides both the turret rotation and a waist joint.
Seems like his third mode is some kind of anti aircraft gun thing
I haven't seen your vids since 2008
Great one mate another great review Darkmount looked great. Thanks for sharing with us all the best for the future.

Well over all its rather nice looking transformer and having good articulation for transforming toy is defenetly bonus.
@MrSoundwave64Z i think it represents ablative armor
@Clifftothemax Oh,
Okay...
Thanks for the feedback!
^_^
cool figure! his face reminds me of the Enclave soilders helmet from Fallout 3
just gave this to my boy and wow, its a great toy ! I was impressed with it
hey peaugh! i'm into tanks and i already have voyager bludgeon, so i'm wondering what else is available, such as darkmount and hailstorm? and which would you recommend?
Straxus is a baddass decepticon from one of the best Marvel Transformers comics: Return to Cybertron.
Reminds me of the space marines.A axe is an overstatement it's essentially a pickaxe.
@megaprime951 You could consider it a tank but its a half track with a turret
Wow, he´s even better than I thought, i´m sooo getting him.
the head reminds me of shao khan mixed with hawkman/hawk girls helmet. i really dig his arms, no pun intended.
another great review, but as with universe galvatron it should have been at least a voyager class toy
passed him up for the retool Skullgrin, and that transformation is a bastard the first few times round!
Very nice review man, awesome figure!!!!
Great review! Is there a way for the figure to wield the tank cannon in botmode?
Now all we need is a Leader Class Spanner and a Cybertronian mode Blaster and we could recreate the cover to the comic!

@peaugh are going to do a collection vid sometime ?
will we be seeing War For Cybertron Soundwave and Megatron any time soon?
1:51 Reminds me of the Starcraft Siege Tank
@Strife159Highloch also, he has the try force.
I like how that there is molded in Tri Force on his back pack.
See it at 4:53
i'm waiting for the repaint, Skullgrin, which I hope would have a better headsculpt
will we be seein the wfc soundwave an megatron soon?
His head looks like it's supposed to be a cobra thing from G.I. Joe, or Brak from Space Ghost, or the Brak show, whichever you like.
is this straxus of the transformers comic G1? or is another straxus
Do the clip-on weapons work with Recon Ironhide and Brawn?
Very Awesome Figure of the Comic Legend now we just need one of Thunderwing & I think all Original Comic Characters will finally have a Toy.
BTW Man are you feeling alright your Voice sounded kinda Down?
The brightness of that white background seems to cast a shadow on the front of the figure. It's hard to see.
Straxus at last !!! god I loved this moronic brute :D Pity they didn't even try to give him a toy form in G1 , it wouldn't be that hard really - a flipformer would do.

Sweet review :)
I am so getting him you transformed the top half off screan so i didn't see it all but My friend Emgo did.
cool, finally it came out, yay
@vistar411 delxue hasgeneratiosn is delxue only, at least thats what i heard
I can't get his Heall spurs out
Is it just me, or does his head and color scheme make you think of Cobra Commando from G.I. Joe?
Awsome!
@clerzerkerTOto7 Reviews don't involve opinions. They review the figure.
did they made a G1 toy of Straxus?
wait, wasn't blaster's nemesis soundwave?
is his neck on a swivel or a ball joint?
when you were doing the top half i really couldnt see what you were doing.
again a must buy for me.
i thought he was a voyager until peaugh started turning him around and i could see he's liek a deluxe.
Cool figure, not sure why they designed the ankles the way they did though.
He tortured a random robot andpainfully repuilt him into the image of Optimus, and he was called, NEMESIS PRIME!
i thought hes going to be bigger.......until i knew how the generation lines going to be deluxe only!!!!!
hmmmmmm is it jst me or does the head look a tiny bit like Cobra comander's?
He's an Energon Miner!
Not to point out faults or anything, but you forgot to mention pulling apart the arms so you can bring his torso down and peg into his waist. I know its common sense, but just seems a little misinformed since you're pretty thorough with your transformation explanation :)
hey peaugh u know y they never released a leader blackout or grindor
EPIC.
Like the review but next time try to get the intro music and your voice on the same volume level.
Is Strax a deluxe or voyager?
The alt-mode is descent, the middle mode really is meh, the robot mode on one hand looks cool, but also has a few very irritating spots like the gaps at the ankles.
lol i would love to see a true howitzer transformer instead of a tank that can have the threads angled but for a "third" mode it wasnt bad
reminds me of the GI joe snowcat.
He looks like a ninja
looks like a crossover for warhammer 40,000
FOR THE EMPIRE!!!!!
You know that its not really a review if you don't give your opinion. Do you like it? Is it totally awesome? How does it compare to other generations figure? Do you think this will be the best of the generations line? SPEAK UP!
Why does he remind me of Beast Machines Rhinox?
Man you REALLY need to up the volume of your voice in the actual review, I have to turn the volume up to hear you and when I do that the intro blasts my eardrums. You should be able to do it easily in Audacity or any other audio editing program.

Peaugh, where do you get all your transformers? Also, how do you pronounce the word "Peaugh"?
@wakko1337 So you are saying that a movie review should just go over the plot of a movie and then that's it?
badass
Isn't he the guy who tortured Optimus Prime in the parallel universe where optimus turns into nemesis prime?
His face reminds me of a Space Marine...........Hail the Emperor!!!
i thought Soundwave was Blaster's nemesis
Repaint him Megatron and you could have the Megatron Clone that he tried to take control of
So basically, he's a trigger-happy Miner...
i used to have a transformers toy but i don't buy them any more because i was scared of breaking it
at first i thought the axe was a crossbow
Hey Peaugh, at :37-:53, you sound hushed, why is that?
@TheShardFenix Megs has to be the best deluxe in a LONG time WFC prime is great but he has a little kibble and a little floppy, the WFC Cons are much better then the autobots. Cliffjumer at least has a new head this time, but still pretty lame
actually that really isnt an axe, its called a mattock :D
looking at him in robot mode all i can think is a transformers version of cobra commander im i the only one who see's that?????
@peaugh O-M-G?!
His face reminds me of Depth Charge
no he was comic only charactor
straxus is the leader of polyhex hes so dangerous even megatron himself is scared of him believe me look him up
@TheShardFenix Get WFC Megatron he is Amazing
super want
lol he has triforces on his chest!
