I like how no information was left about this plane so we had to do our own research. For those who wonders, this plane is N301AX made by Archer, a startup based in Palo Alto. The plane has 12 motors, 150mph top speed, 1.5 ton weight, 75kwh battery, of which only 37kwh is available for cruise and 60 miles of calculated max range. The plane made its first hovering at the end of 2021 Sadly I think it’s not very useful, at least to me. I thought it would be a good future commute aircraft but (rated) 60miles of range is way too limited. It’s probably faster to just drive my also eco friendly electric car which ranges 520mi and I don’t have to worry about it dropping from sky or emergency land in someone’s backyard

Fuel gauges are pretty accurate so you know exactly how much fuel there is but the same can't be said about battery percentage. Avg lion batteries start deteriorating after 300 or 400 charge cycles. Also conventional helicopters can safely land even after their engine shuts off mid air.
This thing flies itself. Their is a joystick and buttons. That is it. Not as fun, but definitely not going to fly very far, as any batteries so far have been quite the let down. It has eight power hungry electric motors. So far the batteries don't last more than 15 minutes which to me, that is chopping into safety quite bad. Battery technology has a long way to go. Not even that. Normally if a helicopter looses it's engines to some sort of defect, for example overheating, it can still rely on autorotation to land safely. In the case of this helicopter it has way too small rotors and can't make use of this feature. Real life example V22 Osprey. That's also the main reason why American presidents aren't allowed to fly with it due to limited safety measures if the engine cuts out

No, there is an APU (auxiliary power unit) that can be deployed on the ground or in the air in a emergency. Most of them are small turbines, not propeller driven. I SAID MOST OF THEM.

Just for your info there is even a small propeller in every big commercial jetliners as well which runs on air and gives ample amount of electricity for air conditioners and lighting inside the aircraft
No, there is an APU (auxiliary power unit) that can be deployed on the ground or in the air in a emergency. Most of them are small turbines, not propeller driven. I SAID MOST OF THEM.
