I rent tillers once in awhile and at those prices I could buy one. Would it stay a tiller very long probably not…😂 But great video and helpful info. Thanks for the shoutout in the description!! I was definitely missing your videos!!
Dang, Chris! I should bring my old snowblower down to you to fix up! The manufacturer went out of business decades ago; and I can't get that thing to turn over.
Thanks Mick! What's a snowblower? 🤣🤣🤣 I've bought engines for those before but I've never seen a snowblower in this area. I know you guys get a lot of the white stuff there.
I have an Amish friend that gets these motors out of Canada for 80 used one on my mom's old troy built tiller last year got 2 session on it runs really good I talked to him the other day he has a shipment of 440 duromax 150 new in the box I'm going to pick one up for the 707e
I would love to see a tear down of this engine and see what cam piston flywheel comparison to the predator 212. I work with my nieces husband part time and in the building he works in his mom and her parents ran a tractor, lawnmower repair and sell business for over 40 years it shut down and my nephew started his business in the building and I have my race kart motors and tools there and when I’m not helping him I’m working on my stuff. It’s a big building and in the back it’s full of old chain saws mowers weed eater’s tools parts etc and I found a new in the box a Briggs cr950 just like this with a water transfer pump. I was thinking about buying it but I wanted to see how it compares to the predator.
Thanks for the suggestion Jason. I think I have another CR950 Briggs under a bench somewhere. I'll order a gasket kit and we may have a look inside one. I'll admit I'm curious myself. From a few feet away you'd swear you're looking at a Chinese clone engine.
I looked at the one at work and it looks like it has the same bolt pattern side cover, valve cover, head etc. I did take the pull start off the flywheel cover and try it on a predator but the depth was different and it didn’t work. It does look like it has a better stock exhaust than my predator and my 212 Ducar.
@@Jasonkartracing Great info Jason! Earlier this year I purchased an AlphaWorks engine to have a look. It was kinda like the other Chinese clone engines but there were some major differences. The normal clone head gaskets wouldn't fit and a few other things were off. I wondered how the Briggs would compare to that one too.
You would think the Briggs is just a 70mm clone? I think it was project farm who had the engine in one of their videos and it didn't do very well. Chances are it's just a Chinese with Briggs stickers? Or have you found different?
The champion 224 are a match of ducar and predotor parts and some other parts childishness concepts says not to buy for gokarts or mini bikes. But you seem to like the odd ball stuff
The Champion engines are a bit different from the Ducar and also have a unique shaft rocker arm system that is highly sought after, very strong and they hold up well under high spring tension. The Champion rockers alone typically sell for $25. I like looking into the odd stuff. You never know what could be lurking inside. Those $49.95 179cc LCT engines have a 54mm forged steel crankshaft with the best balance and smoothest running engine out of all of the imports. Sometimes less is more! Thanks for the comment!
@@geraldwillcox Gerald the Champion shaft mount rockers are supposed to be 1:1 ratio. But you know how things go on the Chinese production line, some may be a bit more and some a bit less. I like the aftermarket 1.3:1 rockers, they'll live pretty good as long as you don't go over a 22 LB spring. They worked really well with a stock camshaft and 18LB springs on the "Killer Tiller" 179cc engine.

Thanks Frank! I had to pop in to share this. These deals don't come along very often for me.

Had to share this. Great buy on an engine, with a free tiller included! Looks like a good use for a 196cc to me. Thanks R!
This is a great deal and a cool way to get one of those B&S engines. Pity we don't have Home Depot over here. Thanks for sharing this
Bad luck. You guys have "Machine Mart" over there though! I wish we had those in the US. I've seen some great deals on their site. Thanks Joseph!
That's an awesome deal.

I've not had one of the import Briggs engines apart yet, but I have one under the work bench that we'll be looking at soon. I'm curious to know too.
