I’m Brazilian, and I heard this song about 14 years ago playing GTA on K Rose Radio Station... since then, I’ve created this will of learning about American country songs(which is a lot different than our Brazilian country songs)... and Ed Bruce, what a voice! This is a song that I’ve been listening for the past 14 years, in sickness and in health, in richness or poorness, and I’ll be listening to it until death parts us..
The best version and recording of this song is still done by the man who wrote it, ED BRUCE! A great, underrated country artist that received less acclaim than he deserved. This is a great rendition of the song. Just Ed and his guitar. What a great voice. I love it! And hey, a country artist that can actually play the guitar....really well !! Thanks for posting this video!
How the he👺👺 did never hear of him til just now??? That voice is utter golden honey!! I am often teased because I know every country singer before 1980.. but how did I miss him? I'm off to see if I can find his work
Me!! Love the song and needed to find out who wrote it. I believe the writer always sings a song better than anyone else and Ed puts so much feeling into it.
One Man, one guitar, one song. This is true Country Music. The present crop of 'Country stars' would do well to take a few notes here. No rap crap. No rock guitar. No bawling and shouting down the mic. Just great music. Thanks Ed.
This has got to be in the TOP 10 SONGS ever written & recorded & sung!!! I'm a PROUD AMERICAN OWNER/OPERATOR TRUCK DRIVER...so this song has a little more special meaning to me...especially when he sings "don't let them drive them old trucks". Much love from Mobile Alabama.
