PROLIFERATION examines the intersection between decadence and disintegration. Through a process of documenting collapse and redevelopment, this body of work calls into question: fragmentation, discord, and desire. Structures exist in a liminal space between experience and memory-cultural debris glimpsing at recurrent history.
Referencing chasms as catalyst, lustrous materials act as alluring yet illusive agents. The contrast between what is visible and left unseen measures as a conflation of pleasure and perception. What appears to glisten is often lackluster, subject to paradox, and nuanced with deceit; this investigation of instability exploits the porous nature of representation.
In a state of flux, we are neither here nor there, but suspended in a place that is always shifting. Through mapping dislocated environments, vestiges of the human condition are re-constructed: Presence is worn, weathered, and reused. Proliferation engenders adaptability, but nothing returns without the scent of demarcation.
