This was the recording that put Voctave on the map. Millions came to hear Kirstin and signed up for Voctave's channel after hearing Kate Lott and the gang.
What a lovely shout out to your wife, Michigander! Thanks for another great reaction. Try Voctave's Great Movie Medley of the best of John Williams movie scores. Even if you don't do a reaction for us, listen for your own enjoyment. God bless you, Blue!
Thank you for noticing the reactions of Jeremy to Kate's insane singing...Most reactors don't realize that he is in awe of Kate at that time. There is a short video of them rehearsing this with Voctave and Kirstie's reaction is just as delicious.
There have been a couple more collaborations between Kirstin and Voctave. Kirstin is the featured soloist on "Show Yourself" from Voctave's latest album, The Corner of Broadway & Main Street Vol. 2. Voctave is the backup choir on "Once Upon A December" from Pentatonix's latest Christmas album. Kirstin takes the lead on that track. Jamey Ray, Voctave's primary arranger, has also collaborated with Kirstin and her current bf Ben on a couple of quarantine parody songs - "Good Morning, Quarantine!" (ua-cam.com/video/3O7B0OFpdSw/v-deo.html) and "Hello" (ua-cam.com/video/JMEMHhIbfO8/v-deo.html) - that are worth checking out.
There's a rehearsal video where Jeremy keeps cracking up in awe at the sopranos. Jeremy was on the Sing Off, with the vocal group the Aucouistikats, from U of Kentucky, I think.
There is a super adorable video of the rehearsal of this all around the piano... you should watch it... be prepared to laugh! 🤣 If you need another Voctave suggestion, please react to their Jeckel and Hyde song.
Enjoyed the reaction! Glad you are loving Voctave. I've had the pleasure of seeing them in perform live (all their Christmas music) twice! If you ever have the chance...GO!
Notice his big smiles were always when the highest notes were being sung. I read somewhere that they kept smiling at each other in almost a shocked surprised what Voctave was capable of. I want this on my apple music. (Edit: just saw the end. You did pick up on it hahahaha)
The first song is from the movie Tangled. The second one is actually from Tarzan, originally sung by Phil Collins. Love watching a fellow Michigander react, especially your facial reactions!
Kirsten met Jeremy when PTX returned to the sing off the year after they won. He was in a collegiate group competing that year. I don't know if this video was made while they were engaged or not. They were definitely dating. from Kirsten's Wikipedia entry: In February 2016, the a cappella group Voctave released the video "Disney Love Medley" which featured Maldonado and her fiancé Jeremy Michael Lewis. In the video, Maldonado and Lewis perform the songs "I See the Light" from Tangled, "You'll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan and "Go the Distance" from Hercules with the members of Voctave providing the backing vocals.
He was in the acapella group from the University of Kentucky called the AcoustiKats. I believe that group participated the same year that Home Free won, which the season after the Pentatonix win and they brought Pentatonix back as a feature one week. I believe that the AcoustiKats had already been eliminated at that point but they would have still been part of the final show. I agree that "The Great Movie Medley" is a must-see but hold onto your chair because it might top this one for it's showcase of their mind-blowing abilities. I would also suggest "Disney Princess Medley (where the ladies shine)," "Disney Showstoppers Medley (where some of the men shine)," and "This Is My Wish/Let There Be Peace." Voctave, formed by Jamey Ray who also does most;, if not all, of their arrangements, has many singers from the Voices of Liberty group performing at one of the resorts in central Florida. He is the one in the maroon shirt next to the purple shirt at the end on the right side of the men's section. Watching Jeremy is like watching another reaction video. I concur with the comment about watching the behind-the-scenes video of this because they both lose it. And the soprano who, as you say, sings with so much joy and animation is Tiffany Coburn. I think that their ability to do a major transition between the second and third songs with a major tempo change is amazing with minimal hand/visual direction (you can see Tony using his hand a little to direct but he is out of the visual field or just peripheral for almost all of the members of the group, including Kirstie and Jeremy)! And 100% agree with the headphones suggestions for listeners: a must for acapella groups. Continue to love your reactions. I think most of us smile because it reminds us what our reaction was when we first heard these songs. You articulate those feelings so well.
You're definitely right about Kirstie and Jeremy. They were engaged at the time that they filmed this. You were right about the songs too pretty much. The first was "I See The Light" from Tangled. The second one was " You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan. The last was " Go The Distance" from Hercules.
My Brother.... Such a good time watching these with you. Facial expressions, chills, goose bumps.... Great! Now you need to see The great movie medley from Voctave! We are anxiously awaiting!!!!
Prepare your mind for a solid mind blowing experience. I can’t wait to see your reaction. I’m blown away every time I sing with the VM at international conventions.
Enjoy your heartfelt reactions. To get an idea of how phenomenal each of the female singers in Voctave really are, please check out their Disney Princess Medley.
^ yep. As for 'better than Christmas music' that he talked about in the video, this is probably my favorite song they've done, along with 'someone like you.'
Great reaction! You mentioned how fun it was to watch kirstin and Jeremy react to voctave. Look up 'voctave love medley rehearsal.' It's a short clip of the first time that they run through the song, and Jeremy and kirstin eventually stop singing because they're so shocked. Check it out! Worth your time.
Your reaction are great! You may enjoy the following from Voctave: O Come, O Come Emmanuel, The First Noel, and I Wonder as I Wander medley and the Disney Princess Medley.
Tiffany is the other soprano - Jamey Ray is their arranger. Great reaction - just love Voctave. Jeremy is an awesome vocalist - they were a great match, shame it didn't work out for them :(
@@rocksolidreactions3901 Kirstie is extremely happy with her new guy (Ben - who does a lot of their media photos/videos) and so it all worked out in the end :)
As many have probably said, Jeremy and Kirstie were engaged for a while, but called it off. Two years after PTX won the TV competition show, The Sing Off, they returned in 2013 as guests on the show, and Jeremy's group was on the show that year, and that's how they met. They were together for a few years before getting engaged, so we saw quite a bit of him in various videos with Kirstie. He does have a nice voice, although IMO he gets a bit drowned out by Voctave. That's the only fault I have with this video, that Voctave is sometimes louder than the lead singers, but at least they are amazing, too, so it's not so bad.
@@rocksolidreactions3901 Yes, some of the performances are really incredible, especially when you realize that the first week of the show was the first performance they EVER did as a group of 5, other than their audition for the show. In the first show, they talk about how they came together, so that is good to see. If possible, watch the videos by a guy named mrduckbear11. They show the opening clips, the judges reactions and comments by PTX after some of the performances. Looking forward to them!
I saw a few people mention checking out the rehearsal video to see them being blown away and unable to continue singing, but here's a link for it: ua-cam.com/video/rjZpz0EvnV8/v-deo.html Enjoying your reactions. Saw the Mrs. did join you for some reactions, so I'm going to have to head to those in a few. Keep having fun!
Ok You have first Tangled than Tarzan and 3nd Hercules He Was her fiancee at the time that this video was shot. they separated shortly after. he was on the same show( Sing Off) as Pentatonix a Year after them.
I'm probably a little late to comment on this, but Jeremy and Kirstie were dating when this video was made, and they were engaged at one point! Unfortunately they broke up but obviously they had amazing chemistry together :) Love your videos! Thanks for taking the time to make these for all of us ❤️

Indeed they should Phil! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for noticing the reactions of Jeremy to Kate's insane singing...Most reactors don't realize that he is in awe of Kate at that time. There is a short video of them rehearsing this with Voctave and Kirstie's reaction is just as delicious.
They were engaged at the time of this video, but they split up not long after. You should listen to Voctave doing The Disney Princess Medly

I agree Jeremie!
Kirstin recently performed again with voctave. It was a song from Frozen 2 into the unknown. Also PTX featured them in once upon a December.

Thanks Jeremie, also thanks for watching!
You'll love to hear Show yourself ft. Kirstie and Prince of the Egypt ☺
I will have to give it a listen Jane, thanks!
Fun fact : Jeremy came up with the name Voctave during the shooting of this medley and suggested it to Jamey (founder and arranger of the group),

yes. this Medley will really share the full fledge talents of Voctave! it's amazing that it's accapella! (basically a John Williams composer tribute)
You need to watch their version of A Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman. They feature the Vocal Majority Barbershop Chorus from Dallas.
