    Whilst your information is fantastic and flows really well you are also very entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Your aquarium looks amazing due to the fact that you are very creative and you have taken the time to pre plan the finished product. Awesome result

    Thx for thi vidéo! It so on point! Really nice!
    100% silicone is safe, aquarium silicone is juste stronger cuz of water pressure.
    So its more to hold panel together.

    New subscriber, the entrance of this video was amazing!!!! Your terrarium is a work of art, eventually you should add a waterfall like your other one it would bring it to another level. Id love to attempt this but im not a plant mastermind, just a newbie. Thx for sharing your genius ideas.

      Thanks for the sub! I wish it was bigger then I would TOTALLY add a mister waterfall! But I just cram so many plants in there, I ran out of room😅

    This is beautiful! I love how the lighting falls on everything.
    Regarding the mold, have you considered adding springtails? I thought about it for my milsbo non-terrarium greenhouse but it seemed a hassle since all the plants were in their own containers and it would be tough making sure they got everywhere, but with your terrarium, it’s one giant pot, so the springtails would be able to roam everywhere.

      I might add some down the line! so far no excessive mold issues

    Terry because he's in a terra cotta planter! Also, what was the total cost (not including plants and cabinet) for the whole set-up?

    • @plantgayforlife
      @plantgayforlife  Рік тому +1

      I wanna say $200 max?? The cost mostly depends on how many silicone tubes and spray foam cans you buy. Plus different ones can be different prices so it all depends what you have access to and what your budget is 😁

    This is extremely helpful! One question, when you’re reapplying peat moss after you’ve brushed off the debris, do you use silicone again to stick it on? Makes me think it would be messy to put silicone on top of peat moss to stick more peat moss on lol. Thank you for making this video!

    • @plantgayforlife
      @plantgayforlife  7 місяців тому

      Ideally you would apply a coat of silicone in small areas at a time, apply peat moss, and the peat moss will stick to all of the silicone and cover all of the silicone when it dries. If there is a spot where some silicone is exposed you can go back and reapply as needed but 95% of it should be a one and done

  • @caitlinliebenberg8009

    This is amazing. I didn't see how to apply the peat moss though. Did we skip day 4?

    • @plantgayforlife
      @plantgayforlife  3 місяці тому

      17:55, apply the peat moss with silicone after the foam is carved, but some people just apply the peat moss before the foam cures as a shortcut

  • @GreenChords
    @GreenChords 4 місяці тому

    Thanks for the thorough tutorial! Did you find that carving the foam was completely necessary? I saw some videos where folks just pressed the peat/moss directly into the wet foam, and then used silicon or pins to attach more for any bald spots.

    • @plantgayforlife
      @plantgayforlife  4 місяці тому

      I believe you can do that as well. I think at least one other UA-camr said they tried this and a lot of it fell out. But it still might be able to expedite the process, then you can fill in the rest:)

    • @plantgayforlife

      i used black bonsai wire, cut it, bent it like a little horseshoe, and pinned the moss and plants to the walls😊

      It’s a labor of love😂 yes it’s a lot of work and it’s a commitment but I LOVE it. I can now throw 40+ plants in there and care for them as one vessel. And I can mount rehabs and propagations and they take off!:)
