    I've used the Boss V-Plow on my X900 for 7 years and now 3 years on my X1100C and I am continually impressed with the design and quality. It can stack snow 6 feet high and the action is quick. It took me a while to get used to the control, but after I mounted on to the left of the steering wheel it works really well. I love how easy it is to install and remove it between storms. In the summer I remove the forward portion of the hitch so I have easy and complete access to the 2" receiver.

    Great video Neil. That is a lot nicer than the plow I have now. I wish my dealer would have known this.

    I have this V-plow on a Yamaha viking. I needed to put heavy duty springs in the front for it to carry the weight. The straight blade is much more reasonable weight for most side x sides.

    I’ve had the 8’6” Boss XT for 10 years now. Same plow on my 2nd truck. I plow into cell site tower locations all over PA, WV, and OH. It sees abuse that no plow should ever see. So far, my only issue was some loose bolts the first couple of years, and too low of pressure relief on the wings. Nothing a little loctite, and a small adjustment couldn’t fix. I like the steel moldboards because I think the moldboard being welded to the frame structure makes for a stronger plow. Plus mild steel can be welded easily about anywhere. I took the handle off of my controller and attached about 18” or so of double sided Velcro. I strap it to my right thigh so it’s easy to get too. My only criticism is the multi pin connector could be improved. It can be a pain to get it connected some times in extreme cold weather.

    Does the 6' Poly Straight Blade variant have downforce when plowing or is it float only? Looking at BOSS and Western systems. If I go with BOSS, I'll be visiting you. Glad to know you are a dealer for BOSS!

    You dont have to pull the pins out when taking the plow the UTV. That switch will power the hydraulic tower up to release the pins. The V plow also stays at the correct hieght better if you take the V plow off with it in the V position not the scoop position

    These look nice but it doesn’t snow enough to use these any more in SE PA.

    You dont have to pull those pins out by hand, it will do it automatically with toggle switch.

    Cant say for sure about the utv plows but I have owned boss plows for many years on pickups and it is actually easier than you showed to remove them. All you have to do is flip those levers to the off position and hit up on the smart hitch switch. When the headgear rocks back it will take the pressure off the pins and the springs will pull the pins out for you, no need to use any muscle to pull them out yourself

      I need to try that

      It’s even easier than that on these plows. Put it in V configuration, set to float, unlock pins, and disconnect both leads. Stand in front and grab the head gear in your hands, give it a bump back and the pins will spring retract. The head gear will fall forward and you are done.

    Genuine question: Does this "overload" the front axle when in use? I assume you would want some weight in the rear of the machine, whether it's just dead weight or a salt/gravel spreader. You have a few videos on front axle weight ratings in regards to the use of the front loader and ballast of the tractor. I assume the front end and 4wd system can handle this year after year. It would be interesting to see the front end weights with out the plow, the with it and then with ballast.....
    Not trying to start something just genuinely curious

      good question. These are not any heavier than Kubota's plow, so I would not suspect there is not an issue. There is a heavy duty set of struts that can go on the front suspension to keep it from squatting so much.

      The heavy load springs or dampers are required with the X900 to spec with the plow. They may be standard on the X1100?

    I would say you got boss because it was available in your location. Its territorial

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  6 місяців тому +1

      I believe in their network some relationships are territorial, and some are not. We work with a local distributor who I think has a territorial contract, ours is not.

    Can you have track's and the plow on at the same time?

    • @randalltolman2368
      @randalltolman2368 6 місяців тому

      No. Tracks Raise it to high plow would be at an angle, and wings won't go back without hitting tracks

    • @douglasconradmusic17
      @douglasconradmusic17 6 місяців тому

      I know that that the tracks we had on our Ranger stuck out almost a foot in front of the vehicle. I would think this would interfere with the plow mount.
