It hasnt been established the "He Who Remains" is Immortus, because theres an actual an ancient guy named "He Who Remains". We don't see the head piece on this "He Who Remains". Immortus might be needed to bring down Kang the Conqueror.
@@DirtCheapFU True, but The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character seems to be a composite combination of He Who Remains (he founder of the Time Variance Authority and the creator of the Time-Keepers) and Immortus (a version of Kang the Conqueror who wishes to prevent Kang's conquest). Not the first time Marvel has combined two aspects of a character to create a new version of one. The fact that he's both a version of Kang *and* a Guardian of the Multiverse hints he's more Immortus than anything, especially considering he throws out "He Who Remains" as a mere title given to him by circumstances. I love that they introduce Kang into the MCU with his ultimate Kang variant who this is Immortus. Immortus wants one sacred timeline while Kang the Conqueror wants an infinite multiverse to conquer.
His goal is to conquer other timelines instead of pruning them. Crazy stuff

Jonathon Majors could act different versions of Kang for years to come and it will be a joy to watch.
If this last Mobius is his then he could hypothetically enchant them to remember but if not then he is on his own in a strange place once again. As for the multiverse, poor Dr. Strange is going to be super busy for now on.

The version of Kang they talk to the whole episode is Immortus under the title of He Who Remains which was a separate character, but changed it to what the TVA refer to as their creator. The variant scientist from the 31st century is the Nathaniel Richards version of Kang. And the statue at the end of the episode is of Kang the Conqueror, the prime Kang in Marvel.
Also, Nathaniel Richards, specifically, will be in Antman 3
Yeah, I believe the He Who Remains character was Marvel Studios' take on Immortus. The costume he was wearing was similar to Immortus's comics version. I believe Immortus's Kang was primarily interested in killing all the other Kangs to be the final version. It fits Marvel Studios would combine Immortus/"He Who Remains" into one character for the Loki series.
There are Infinate version of everybody, every choice from going left instead of right creates a NEW Version of everybody so its ALL Kang no matter what he calls himself.
The variant scientist he calls the 1st is him, he makes it pretty clear the "1st" one is also the one that tames alioth and wins the multiverse war. Although 1st means nothing and its just since its his PoV he considers himself first.

I was thinking the same thing! Since they are outside of a time line, even though the time line just started branching for a few seconds, inside those timelines it could be years and years going by.

sorry for all the comments, but there are so many thoughts... if the alternate Mobius and B15 didn't even recognize Loki, then in this universe, Loki has either never been pruned, or more likely he doesn't exist in any variation at all.... Maybe that's why he who remains programmed the Tempad (that Sylvie used) to that specific universe, the one where Kang the conqueror resides. A non-existent Loki would be the only thing Kang couldn't predict.

I don't actually think this is a different universe than the one Loki came from. Personally, I think that once Kang died, the appearance of his variants cause reverberations in the timelines. Kang doesn't conquer individual moments in timelines, he conquers whole timelines from beginning to end so it makes sense that conquered timelines reflect that conquest.

I love the way Marvel thinks. With Sylvie killing “He who remains” that timeline branch opened up and that’s how they are going to introduce all the mutants that’s they acquired from FOX
Falcon and Winter Soldier was my favorite series, but Loki felt a better series. As for what happens at the end, I don't think there are multiple TVAs. Like Kang said, killing him would just restart the cycle of how he and his variants found each other, started the multiverse war, and He Who Remains starting the TVA. Loki popped up in the reset cycle, one where one of the Kangs have taken over this new TVA. Loki might start working there, but undercover to really takeover/find Sylvi.

Loki was the only series that didn’t have to be shortened or edited because of the platypus and COVID. So a fully fleshed out story.
I guess I'm still confused on it not being a different TVA because of Mobius and B-15. We saw 2 version of them before and after Sylvie killed He Who Remains. So did they get re-programmed? why are they not the same?
@@WhatWeWatchin I'm thinking everything that's happened has happened all over again, just this time around Loki wasn't taken to the TVA because this new Kang who's in charge successfully pruned the other timelines. Including little Sylvi and her timeline, which would explain them not recruiting Loki because Sylvi never escaped in the first place. Just my theory, anyway.
@@WhatWeWatchin They get their brains wiped over and over when necessary. The same way they wipe their brains when they enter the TVA, Kang/whoever runs it, has the power to do that in the TVA again. But there's only one TVA, it exists outside of time and therefore outside of a specific timeline. So this version of Kang/He Who Remains, dies, and like he said an infinite amount of him fight, one wins and stabilizes that timeline, and is powerful enough to start the TVA, who then maintains that timeline that won. And by maintaining that timeline, they can basically edit and frame how the timeline goes, that's at least my understanding. Like Kang says here, he paves the road and he knows it all, so the new Kang variant does the same and now maintains/rewrites everything in his own desire. Because they're not as "pure of heart" as the one we meet here.
That's the whole moral crux of this series. Is someone maintaining order and preventing chaos more moral than giving people freedom but one that comes with chaos and pain. That's why Renslayer still hangs on to the idea that order, even if people have to die or there's no freedom, is better than the horror of the multiversal war. Which now that I think about it, is really cool because that was Loki's entire speech in the first Avengers movie, that he rediscussed earlier with Mobius in this series. "I would have made it easier for them. The first and most oppressive lie ever uttered was the song of freedom. For nearly every living thing, choice breeds shame and uncertainty and regret."

The King Loki scenes most likely were edited out of the episode. The speculation is those scenes were during the conversation with Miss Minutes where it was shown Loki sitting on the throne of Asgard & his win in New York during Avengers. Later in the episode, Sylvie mentions to Loki before their fight that he wants the throne. So those scenes were shot but probably determined Miss Minutes exposition to Loki & Sylvie was enough.

Jonathan was oscar worthy in just this one episode. His presence as an all powerful, all knowing being was perfect. He didn't waste time flexing his power, he let then fell powerless, so they would comply. Brilliant writing, directing, and acting. So far every Disney+ series has been S tier great, but all in different ways.
Also, if you go back and watch Thor 1 & 2, they hit differently now. I'll fight anyone over the idea that Thor 2 is the worst MCU movie
So the multiversal war talked about in episode 1 did in fact happen, only it was Kang who “fixed” everything (and started the war lol)

@@maxblonde I decided not to go past the title card when making the list, but I did have subtitles on and noticed the historical quotes they were using mixed with further quotes from the MCU, like Vision's "What is grief, if not love persevering"
I know they’re reactors, but man, they talked over the whole thing. This is why I watch TV alone. I would be so annoyed with someone talking over every line of dialogue.

@hothotheat3000 we talk throughout so you can hear our thought process during the episode. It would be boring to watch us watch something in silence. We approach this as if our viewers have already seen the episode and just want to see if someone else (us) shared the same thoughts and experience they had while watching. We have the option of rewinding or rewatching the show for things we missed but won't share that part in the video.

This was craaaazy. They were really put in a lose lose situation, keeping pruning ppl or battle a level 10 Kang (everyone should be mad he started the war in the first place)….But at the end of the day the multiverse had to be freed

I heard that there is a production designer from Loki that confirmed that at the end Loki was sent to a different timeline, so the mobius & B-15 are different variants than the ones he knows. Poor Loki can’t catch a break lol. They got me super hyped for what’s next! Bring on the multiverse!

Sylvie have been living that life after her whole world was prune and hunted by the DVA and you think she should except the world of a dictator or someone who want to control everything when it's seem Multiverse is a natural order and just because some evil Kangs are in other universes just kill them not all the other beings and who say that one person has the moral right to kill off other existence what if that's your existence with your family like Sylvie.
This is like the Iraq War why did we go and kill hundreds of thousands of people because some evil dictator.
@@blakartist2000 First off, it is not that deep. We're talking about a TV show with fictional characters, not real life. Second, I said what I said. And it's not 'some' evil Kangs. There's an infinite number of Kangs who will be much worse than the one we saw because of the choice Slyvie made.
At the end of the day, I'm entitled to my opinion about the characters just as much as you. And because it's a TV show about time travel and creating multiverses, I won't be baited into discussing real life wars and made to feel guilty simply because I have a different opinion than your own. Let's just agree to disagree and move on.
@@evafan24 you're taken the word of a Kang who defeated Kangs to construct his own timeline which would be to me he's the baddest logically speaking and he killed off multiple innocent civilizations like our Loki said before he changed his mind after he found out he could be the ruler which was very convenient. I'm just a practical thinker just give me the facts and I see the actual picture not based on someone's opinion I only met for 30 minutes at the most.
When I bring up real life situations I'm really trying to tie in to how this fictional story fit into today's world and being a Black man I'm always suspect of bureaucracy like evil Aribs or how we were once portrayed in media as evil people because of a couple of bad apples but when they do something terrible that's an isolated thing when all groups have bad apples.
I'm just sharing my point of view and don't mean any harm or to insult your intelligence because you ladies bring a lot to the table with your view points that is why I watch you.
@@blakartist2000 And I think logically on the matter. The proof is at the end of the finale that 'Kang' wasn't lying and more proof will be shown in the Doctor Strange movie. Why else would it be called Multiverse of Madness? Sylvie messed up and she helped kickstart the 'madness' that we'll see in the next few Marvel movies and just how bad things will get. If you disagree on the logistics, that's fine. Agree to disagree.
And I'm a black woman and sometimes I want to enjoy a show without having to think about the harsh realities of being a black woman in America. It's exhausting. If you want to figure out how the show ties into your own reality and the world, that's fine. I can respect that as long as you can respect if I don't want to do that with this show. Trust me, I did plenty of that with Falcon & Winter Soldier.

I think the 2 major factors in this are choice and circumstance. Choice first because it dictates later circumstance. Remember the TVA has to monitor all of time, so they have to do a lot of time traveling into the past and prune new timelines based on someone’s choice that created a later circumstance that wasn’t supposed to happen according to the TVA and He Who Remains. This would explain why when Silvy made the choice to kill him, the branches grew so rapidly. Because people all throughout the timeline are creating new circumstances based on choices that weren’t supposed to happen all at the same time. Even though the TVA is outside of time, it too is ran by people who are making different choices. And because new timelines and new universes are created, new TVA’s were also indirectly created to monitor those different timelines. There are multiple universes and timelines now, therefore there have to be multiple TVAs.

I heard a theory where the end of Wandavision when she heard her kids call out to her is the point when the timeline started to branched out of control (when Sylvie killed that version of Kang)

it’s very interesting that at the end of phase 4 we probably be getting the fantastic four. Kang is one of the descendants Richard reed .
I think the swerve Kevin Feige did this time was announcing Johnathon Majors to play Kang the Conqueror in “Antman and The Wasp Quantumania” during Disney investor day but not telling us that he would first appear as a variant in the Loki Season finale. I find it interesting too that once again were being introduced to the next big villain through Loki 🤔

Another great reaction. I can't wait to see what happens next. I think the consequences of this finale will play out over 3 or 4 movies and Season 2. I really hope that Sylvie and Loki will appear in all those movies.
The TVA was outside the flow of space-time, only under the condition that they would protect ONE, sacred timeline. Once the branching got out of control, there began multiple timelines and different TVA's existing as a consequence. For those versions of Mobius and B-15, nothing has changed. Loki is just in another timeline.

I think it’s a different timeline TVA because the Mobius and B15 that were standing side by side and said “For all time, always” were different from the ones Loki ran into at the end.
You in the middle, "They been laughing since I can remember, but they're not gonna laugh anymore!"
Ladies if you slow down that ending footage of the desk, you'll see a Black hand on the lower right hand side stamping and reorganizing folders. This means even in the 1st episode, He Who Remains was orchestrating the entire show, literally "behind the scenes". Even the composer said she was hinting at Kang's arrival, by recontextualizing Loki's theme as his in actuality when you hear the finale's ending track.
if you noticed, the timeline started to branch right when immortus yelled at her to grow up. i think at that moment, sylvie decided to kill him and thats when he didnt know wha twas going to happen.

Kang made a lot of sense, except for one thing: When he calls out Sylvie's hypocrisy. She wouldn't have been on the path she was on if not for his TVA goons taking her from her timeline when she was a child. The man who "paved the way" should know that. Then again, maybe he IS very aware of it, and even antagonizing her is part of the script.
I know we're gonna be seeing all the bad versions of him, but I hope Nice Dude Kang shows up again. Just to hang out with the Lokis, chill for a bit, nothing big.

Judge Renslayer is the one who changed their current timeline when left Mobius in the office. She went back in time which lead to Kang at the finale.
By the way, the original variant Kang was talking about from 31th century is actually Nathaniel Richards a descendant of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four). So Kang connects so many of the MCU IPs. This is going to be wild.

I think you're right about the other Kangs knowing about Citadel. The Statue at the end shows that the Variant replaced the Timekeepers, not He Who Remains.

idk if you guys know by now, but someone synced up the final episode of loki and wandavision and the moment wanda becomes the scarlet witch matches up with the moment kang “crosses the threshold”. he’s no longer the nexus being of that reality, wanda is.

Time passes differently in the TVA so whenever they release season 2 should work with all the movies but I’m betting they’ll release it sometime before antman & the wasp quantumania because the actual Kang the conqueror is supposed to be in it.

Okay... So when the Loki's were in their time stream they only had access to the Worlds and TVAs connected to their time line... But the Complete Time Line is made up of Multiple Lines with their own Universes; so at the End of Time all the Streams of time appear as one stream flowing together and in that place you have access to every stream; so when she sent Loki to the TVA is was on a different time stream... However, it could have just been by Killing "He that Remains" all of the blocks of memory have been released and reset, so every branch that has ever been Pruned is now back connect to the Stream which is why all those splits starting occurring so fast...

I know a lot of people were hating on Sylvie which I was before I thought about the real betrayal was Loki because he changed his plan not Sylvie. The plan was to kill Kang to regain freewill which is this Multiverse and Loki told Kang that he was pruning innocent civilizations which he prune Sylvie's universe what if it was your universe just to stop some crazy Kangs. The answer is to stop the crazy Kangs with the of good Kangs and other superheroes but not to prune out of existence innocent lives.

So they never really revealed who Jonathan Majors character was but on the Internet Movie Database they have him listed as Kang in the new Doctor Strange movie coming out. So with the timeline branching out I believe that a variant of him who is Kang will emerge due to Sylvie's actions. When she killed him she changed the timeline that's why they didn't recognize Loki. I'm Glad to see him get this big role after how they did Lovecraft Country.
