Lol, they don't handle fine, you're fooling yourself. If you think they do you've never road a bike that handles properly. I've been at this riding thing for 51 straight years.
It's beyond me why anyone would shell out big bucks for anything with a rigid frame and such a ridiculously wide assed rear tire. I have an 05 Paul Yaffe Signature series long bike built on a softtail frame, with a 180 rear tire, and the ride still sucks and it handles like crap. I picked the bike up for 1200 bucks from a local Harley shop that couldn't get rid of it because no one wanted it. For the past four years I've been using it to hold my shop door open, but I plan to convert it into a custom trike at some point. This thing sold for 20 grand plus when new, and some people really took a screwing when they bought the damned things.
It's all in personal taste, while you think a rigid frame with wide rear tire is asinine, lots of other folks think it's badass same way some people might think the way you dress is stupid but you think it's fine cause that's your taste in clothing. Some people like pineapple on their pizza & some don't, some guys like women with 40 inch hips & some like girls who look like they're still in grade school. Personal preference, that's all...
I own a Big Dog Ridgeback and have since 2006. I love it! And I also own 4 Harley Davidsons an old Kawasaki 1000 and I ride the Big Dog the most. It’s not at all hard to ride if you are an experienced Motorcycle rider. I’m almost 60 years old and have been riding since I was 8 years old. Also, to the creator of this video… They have an ELECTRONIC COMPRESSION RELEASE BUTTON THAT YOU HIT BEFORE YOU HIT THE START BUTTON. NO NEED TO MANUALLY PRESS IN THE ELECTRONIC COMPRESSION RELEASES. You should know that!
Is.anybody can help me ? Ibouth 2 weeks ago a very nice big dog every ting was not 2bad but now, went i put the key on the horn go crazy, + the bike dont start even if i put the charger on 2004.....?
If it has the factory computer still then thats most likely your issue very common on big dogs they are known for bad electrical issues from the factory my ridgeback has the wires plus kit in it big dog also makes a rip kit to replace old faulty system
If I'd sell it ill never find one with low miles like this one. I am the 2nd owner I got it with only 1550 miles on it. It now has 3500 miles just brokin in. Maybe I'll put ghost flames on it soon.
I know this is an old video. But all the stuff was known 20 years ago. Hard to handle, hard to start , expensive rear tire. It looks cool but people stare because they want to see who would buy a piece of crap like that
Thinking about getting one appreciate your honesty!!!👍👍
You will be a rock star on one. As long as its shined up.
Depending on your rake it obviously effects the Trail of the front end..my 300 rear 47' rake handles fine.127" motor has plenty of power.

I love my big dog!
which one ya got? I rode a Mastiff for awhile early 2000s it was fun for Oahu Hawaii, ride for an hour then hang out lol
I hot an 04 chopper!
might need to be rejetted, backfiring might mean too much fuel is in the exhaust after the fact. just a thought.
I added aftermarket airfilter that took care of it.
does it do ok on gas? because I like to take longer highway rides. My Yamaha Raider is a pain every 100 miles I'm at the gas station
It takes treated gas only. Something like alcohol methane it makes my eyes water. With that gas it gets 18 mpg
That bike does kinda remind me of ghost rider a little bit of the way it sits.
The compression release is automatic stupid.
How much does a big dog mutt run you these days? I have a 08 model an dont see many online
Most cruisers don't have gas gauges or gear indicators.
I think you mean "most real motorcycles" lol
The only con is its rigid frame... beat you down on a smooth road but fuckit ride it
I like the way you think.
