Enough can’t be said of one of the most beautiful songs ever written, the superb acting on the part of Michael Douglas and especially Melanie Griffith, was worthy of an award.

This out-take from the movie is a wonderful version. Written by Irving Kahal. My favorite version tho was done by a guy named Bennet.
Beautiful song reminiscent of young Yanks & Brits romantic times while preparing, doing, or waiting for their orders on their "great adventure" that could result in their deaths. The horror and dark side of WWII is a little easier with the great music lifting morale. The great adventure of many were similar to the initial waves of green troops landing at Omaha Beach. Many didn't know what hit them under the German machine gun turkey shoot. So sad about the numerous bombing and artillery mistakes that the troops were on their own to stay alive with overwhelming numbers, grit, and guts. Bless them all.
Thanks for listening Mike, Shining Through is a 1992 American World War II drama film which was released to United States cinemas on January 31, 1992,[2] written and directed by David Seltzer and starring Michael Douglas and Melanie Griffith, with Liam Neeson, Joely Richardson and John Gielgud in supporting roles. If you think a WWII movie is just about blood, guts and kill them before they kill you. Then remember this cine. This was what everyone then was so scared of. Thanks @@rogergougeon7370 I grew up in the late 50s and early 60s at the feet of WWII Vets in my home town of San Diego. Navy and Marine Corp. And of the Pacific Theater Campaigns.
