Some things I like. Battery and the way it mounts, the display. Some things I don't like, the wires where it folds, the tail-light, speed limiter.. I have yet to find one with all the features that I want. So, being that my wife expressed interest in trying my new ebike, I got a Lectric 3.0. Lots of compromises but I decided good enough for a first ebike, especially at the price and the free add-ons. By the way, no fenders = No Sale! They shouldn't be an option.
The mere fact that you have to register to unlock the 6mph---no thanks. I need not know anymore. Shame on them for that terrible marketing practice!!!!! Good review.
Thank you so much for the amazing HovBeta review! This was super informative and we hope you are still enjoying your electric bike, Jeremiah!
Alot of nice things, like torq sencer, 180mm discs, step thou, folding, but gearing, no brake/tail light, and I think you should be able to go close to 30mph for safety in trafic. I like that wire are inside, but when folded, would have to watch not to get anything to rub them on them there.
Looking for a nice dual battery folding E Bike myself. I'm really going to wait and see what comes out with 1,000 watt nominal if anything.. A couple runners up like the Walkie H6 are out there. More cargo and industrial looking folders.. Maybe something will come out that goes 32-35 mph to look into soon. Good job showing off this one. Not a bad looking bike. 👍
Thanks JM, Another great Review! The math says the 1,032W peak @ 48V is a 21.5A controller... Love the battery camp-light and step thru design! Lack of Brake light is a concern! Class '3' America should never get a 6mph/10kmh setting. Your intro seems a bit optimistic. This seems to be a Class 2 ebike after unlocking! My Class 3 T42 does 34mph...
Class 2 is only 20mph this bike will definitely go faster than that but hard to maintain 28mph of a class 3 bike.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Yeah, for sure JM, I'm spoiled already by 'the best bang for the buck'... BTW, Iris at GForce said nice things about you... Once I got the tracking info, I saw they air-freighted my forks! They're so new, the screw holes never got tapped for the fender braces... lol I thought the brake was dragging until I remembered to zip-tie the brake line (that was rubbing on the tire) Son and I found the right metric tap and finally installed the fender and headlight. I heated the fender in hot tap water and un-twisted it. Finally, a great bike!
Great to hear you got it Fixed! Enjoy the ride!
Lack of fenders rack integrated taillight would have me move on before I even got to an app that would again make me pass on it if I were to get there. Seriously 6 mph? Come on!
Jeremiah, torque sensor awsome nice bike great review 👍 👍
Thank You. I do love the way the torque sensor works!
Hope you're having a good Christmas Jeremiah and enjoying a break. That wad of wires going thru the fold on this bike should be in a hose or some kind of tubing to protect against pinching and damage...
Thank You John and merry Christmas to you and your family. The wires were wrapped but I had to remove it because they were to tight for the bike to fold.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Ok, thanks, I forgot that part since I watched it the 1st time.. Have you ever reviewed the Magicycle Jaguarundi? At 1199, a 600/750W 80nm 52V stepthru folder got my attention. The Vitilan U7 By far best Stepthru Folder deal at $1099 incl. 750/1200W, 85nm, 48V16AH, 25A controller, 3A chgr, mags, fenders, rack
Love your videos! Could you make a video showing how to unlock the speed limiter on the Engwe C20 250W motor? Thanks.
That bike is too expensive for not having an integrated tail light. Very important. And if I had to give my information to unlock a bike I wouldn't buy it. Pretty bike though
I like your bike reviews, do you get to keep the bikes. Also I looking at the euy f6 electric because it has a large battery and you can open it to a class 3. Do you know if that's a good ebike Company. Maybe you can do a review someday. Keep up the good reviews thanks Dean.
Love the review. What would be better to upgrade to get 28 mph. Change the chainring or change the free wheel?
I was wondering why ebikes just don't use the 11 to 34 tooth free weel. Like you said the pedal would be a better match for the speed of the bike have a great day Dean.
Especially on any bike with smaller wheels.
Throttle + torque sensor is a good combo. 😏 Torque sensor on it’s own is too much work!
Totally agree!
Another good video thank you. I never have liked the torque sensors. I love my Cadence sensors
I actually like torque sensors better when the throttle overrides it.
Can you review the Luna Eclipse?
beautiful bike!
I agree and I love the red, it’s almost like a candy apple color.
How to remove speed limit on my C20 250w Enngwe bike?
I'd love to know the folded dimensions of this bike. Their website does not offer that information.
It should probably have a thumb throttle too, thanks!
It does.
You are so right, why lock the bike at 6mph in the box??!! That's just wrong. And no tail light form$2000, come on.
Hate torque sensors on hub bikes, they are great on mid drives..With a cadence sensor you can get top speed by just turning the pedals slowly, the motor will just keep pumping out the power..And there are dozens of ways to get all the exercise you want on any bike..Their website says 500 watt motor...
It clearly says it’s 750w
What is the load rate
with so many folding bikes out there now, do you have a favorite of all the bikes you have reviewed?
To be honest I have different favorites for different occasions like the bigger moped style for riding around home, small compact bikes for camping and cargo Bike when having to carry a big load and go long distances.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I'm looking to buy two folding bikes for our RV and want to get good ones that will last. I've been looking at the Lectric XP's with the extended range battery but if there's better bikes available, I was hoping you might have some suggestions.
Lectric is a good choice and has great US based customer service. More compact than some other bikes because of the 3”tires and Powerful enough for most people. If you want more power and better brakes you can go with a different brand but may give some of these things up like US based support. All your personal preference and what you need/like to be honest.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thank you!
I wonder if Lectric's going to send you a new tricycle. If so just remember there's only one test that really matters. How far can it jump. 🐇
Lol I think I will be getting one but not exactly sure when. I may just have to try that lol.
Not a good bike. You should review the AiPAS A2 Elite foldable bike. It’s the same company that makes bikes for Lectric, it’s the same basic bike as the XP3 model. 😊
You know, I hate to say it, but that's just stupid here. They've got a light built into the battery. But yet the bike doesn't have a tail light Or a break light
You are Right, not cool with info collection....
No squeaks and then 10 seconds later he hits the brakes and they sound horrible haha
Need an app to unlock the bike? As a computer tech, I don't care if they gave me the bike for free, f%^$ that. If you got stuck with it, use a fake email address or a burner phone to unlock it or call them instead. Hopefully there will be some UA-cam videos out there on how to unlock it so people who got stuck with this bike don't have to suffer through the indignity. I may not be psychic but I don't see these people being in business in 3 years...consider that when buying this bike if you need parts. Like who at the company thought this was a good idea? They need to be fired immediately before more damage is done and quickly fix whatever bikes they have to ship before they go out the door. They just lost 20% of their business, how does the CEO feel about that? Does Mr. Hovsco know? Hello? It's a bicycle, not a twitter account. And what data is being mined? Are people getting compensated for being data mined? I wish these companies would talk to us computer techs or bike experts like Jeremiah instead of woke people on twitter before doing this stuff. They would save a lot of money....and potentially their business.
I agree, Most bikes are reprogrammable thru the display.
@@johnw65 You got my vote.
This one is but you have to contact them to Learn how to. But when you get a brand new bike that’s the last thing you want to do you just want to get on it and ride 🚵♀️🚴🏻♂️🚴♀️
@@JeremiahMcintosh I whole heartedly agree, you just bought their bike. They should not hold you hostage to use it. If you find out maybe post a video on how to do it for the community, I know I would damn well would. We have to stick together to nick this sort of thing in the bud.
Not for $1799.00
I would buy the Lectric XPremium instead
@@kevinb2 i agree
@@kevinb2 $1799 will get you on a whole lot more than a Lectric... Try an Ariel Rider Kepler with 1000W52V20AH, or a 30AH BeeCool Challenger, or Polarna M6, Engwe Engine Pro, There are Dozens of bikes I'd rather have than a 500W Lectric!
The biggest sin. No tail light. Bad design.
