Putting together furniture today. Directions said Do Not Use Power Tools. I grabbed my Ryobi Impact driver. You are a bad influence! LOL Found your channel a week ago. I have watched all of your videos. Thanks for the info and great videos.
How does the torque sensor compare to the aventon torque sensor. I'm wanting a 20 inch tire folding ebike to travel with but want a torque sensor. I know aventon has the sinch 2 but it only has mechanical brakes and 500watt motor. But aventon makes the best smoothest torque sensor
I have just started watching the rookie, season 1 episode 2, he saves a bride from jumping off the Hollywood sign and all i could think about was this channel 😂
I especially like this one. Great folder fat tire with a quick release front wheel? So after removing the battery and front wheel hire easy is it to put in the passenger seat of a semi tractor?
Great review it's actually good that you are hammering the throttle when doing the range test because you're testing it in the worst conditions. Obviously if you pedal a bit or stay at the 20mph max on the throttle you definitely get a few more miles out of her.
Thanks for another awesome review man! The HovBeta just joined my list of Folders I'd buy! Love the power and the paint, and especially the torque! Normally I'm not a folder fan, but dang! Between the crazy-fast Amped Rides Volt ST and this guy, yeesh i might have to get one soon. :D
This is basically the bike I'm looking for (strong/foldable/torque sensor and decent range)... I just prefer a more BMX style frame (or that straight frame like lectric uses) over this step through, but I don't know if anyone makes that bike. Are you familiar with any?
Dude you are better off getting Lectric XP because it has exact same features even the pedal to hit 28mph but Lectric has better gearing so you can pedal comfortably doing top speed. And you also save about 5 to 600 bucks while getting fenders, rack that can hold 150lbs and bunch of accessories you can attach and sometimes get for free. The only difference is torque sensor and bit more power from this bike.
@@helix9268 Yes the Lectric is actually one on my future purchase list. I was just impressed with this bike HovBeta, didn't expect it to perform as well as it did.
I have a folder for you that is a LOT more inexpensive and, believe it or not, much lighter than this one. Have you heard of a Manila? Yeah, manila folders are the best 😄
What's most interesting about the Hovesco bikes is that they all seem to have similar max carrying capacity. They're all 300-450lb. Probably because they all have similar motors? I'd be interested in seeing if any of the cargo racks and baskets are interchangable between the models you have. Also do you know if the cargo rack on the HovAlpha also fits on the HovAlpha Step through? The description on their website is kind of confusing...
just ordered an aventon sinch.2 which is limited to class 2, hoping i don't regret my purchase because i really did wish it was unlockable to class 3, and i did not know this bike existed
I believe what some people do is replace the control panel. A new one will let you increase the top speed. Don't quote me on that as I'm fairly new to ebikes but I've read that is one way to mod them. The Sinch 2 basically is a clone of this one, it's nice.
Unfortunately you are stuck with a 500w motor that is weak and underpowered. I think Hovsco is using the same manufacturer or is the manufacturer of Aventon bikes and is offering almost identical bikes with better specs.
I’m looking to buy a foldable e-bike for my daughter. It will be use more for Highschool and next year at college. We live in Kennesaw, GA and yes we have some tough hills. We are looking for Class 2/3 e bike, something with good hydraulic brake system, motor power, 5-7 speeds transmission, be able to ride a min distance of 30 miles. I believe you can help me to sorting this out. We thought about the heyride, Gosen, Vitilan, Fido, GForce, Electic
TailHappy, lots of unknown Brakes out there can i find replacement pads, Would be nice to see the brake pads out and lay them out for a second to know if can be found online.
Hey could you try out the engwe l20 or ep-2 pro just cuz they both sub 1000 pound ebikes and they are branded as 250w(they are 48v though) but branded as 250 which makes it legal as a normal ebike in EU, it can be unlocked apparently so it would be cool to check this I think the l20 is like 800 pounds
How does the hovbeta compare to the heybike ranger s? They seem identical on paper but; the Ranger S comes with a rear rack and brake light (not just a basic tail light), and its still 100$ cheaper after the limited time offer of 200$ off with your code (what if i didn't have your code? hypothetically that's 300$ more.)
I feel the difference is I can see right away are the wheels. Spoke wheels are much lighter, and it is sprung mass so that makes a pretty big difference. Also, I think the Ranger S has a cadence sensor compared to the torque sensor on the other bike. This is a pretty big difference as well. Another thing I can see right away is the display, Hovsco has a nicer display.
Velotric is pretty much the only company I review with UL listed. That being said, of the hundreds of eBikes I have been on and reviewed I’ve never had any sort of trouble with a battery. Where the problems happen is when you use a charger that did not come with the bike, or when people are building their own batteries and rigging up some sketchy wiring.
UA-cam is going south. I'm a subscriber and they only told me about a mix that includes this video but no notification for this video at all. At first I didn't realize the mix included a new video so I almost didn't watch it. Come ON UA-cam....
Happy can you please drain the battery on these test rides. You cannot extrapolate even from the 1/2 way point. If 50% battery goes 15 miles, the second 50% ain't going 15 miles.
That's affordable? I just purchased a Lectric Xpremium for less. Mid drive, dual battery, 100 mile range, foldable, and a company that will still exist in a year.
With 45k bikes recalled, a slowing market and intense competition, I would not count on any company’s longevity. VanMoof. Selling a two person cheap Chinese utility bike is a recipe for company ending lawsuits. See how long that mid drive lasts with the lowest level Shimano group set taking all the power. If you have a mid drive, you better have a high end derailleur and know how to repair your chain when it brakes.
@@jfly2249 Shill much? BTW - at least it has Shimano - this Hovsco has a no-name chinese derailleur. As for "recalls" - the company sent everyone new hydraulic brakes. Good luck getting a new battery from "Hovsco" in 3 years, doubt they will be around.
Lectric has the cheapest components and the smallest battery in its class. The battery is one of the most expensive parts of an e bike and Lectric gives you a tiny one or makes you pay for “extended” range which is still less than most others in its class. Yeah the are moving to hydraulic brakes, but because of recall and legal liability issues. Lectric is spending on marketing like a drunk sailor in Vegas with ads on every UA-cam video about e bikes and stupid cookie cutter comments on every video. They are even advertising on CNBC. First thing they should do is fire all their MBAs and try and stay in business.
@@phazerbrains there are soooo many clones that most of these types you can get the same if not similar batteries for them, they aren't proprietary. And Shimano parts are easily changeable so if you want to upgrade, it's not that difficult.
@@JR-to8sn I agree. My point is that it is not a great a value compared to the Xpremium. Xpremium has same components (zoom brakes, low end shimano, etc), has torquey mid drive, has almost double the battery, and is from a company with good support - all for less money. But you are wrong about the battery - it is a proprietary shape that fits into the frame. I would worry that this chinese company will not be around in two years when the battery wears out. If it were an external battery I wouldn't worry much. But still not as good a value as the Xpremium IMHO.
@d1of1c243 I think many bikes have come down in price, but $1,299 for a bike like this would be more than affordable, that would be very bottom of the barrel pricing. Good luck even finding a 750w bike with a torque sensor for under $1k.
