I remember, when I was a kid, the only Scarlet Spider figure I saw was a custom in "Wizard" magazine, and I wanted it lol. That is why I ordered 2. I gotta wait til April for mine, but it's something to look forward to. I get the new Angel figure at the same time as well. 😁

I think the eyes are modeled by how Steven Butler drew them sometimes. I think he‘s a bit underrated and rarely mentioned imo :)
In my opinion it does look better than the Mafex.
I really like the muscular body, and sculpting of the hoodie.
Love it! A great upgrade from the previous one. I'm also hoping some of the previous things like heads etc, will be interchangeable with this one. I can never get enough Scarlet Spider!
Amazon finally shipped this figure to Canada, and I have to say, it's worthy of the hype. So far from messing around with it, it's more fun to pose around than the RYV Spidey, and the lack of paint on the limbs mean there's less chance for paint rub. It seems to have a matt finish as well, which is very much appreciated. An overall great figure! So cool to have a proper Ben Riley figure for my display now. ^^
Childhood to adulthood fan of Ben Reilly. For that reason, the character assassination of Ben Reilly by Dan Slott/Peter A David/Zeb Wells makes me mad/sad.

If I hadn’t got the Mafex version for Christmas, I’d be all over this one. I’ve loved this costume since it first appeared. My only complaint on the Mafex is the small spider symbol on the hoodie. I prefer the large print. Great review.

I appreciate your love for the scarlet spider. It's officially full circle for me, favorite character just cause, started my collecting with the toybiz one. I'm pretty much done collecting after I get this one, maybe a few here and there but not like before. It out does the mafex and that's insane for hasbro.

I actually used to read his comics when I was a kid. I always been a big fan. The scarlet spiderman i do own, has a missing 😢 hoodie string. So I might buy this one.

I've been wondering for a while: how do people manage to get figurines so early? I mean, this one officially comes out in May, right?
For UA-camrs I guess that brands send them to some who have a partnership with them, but for others? Are these leaks from the production line or something?

Haven't gotten mine yet but have him on pre-order. So excited to get this one, the previous ML Scarlets were going for ridiculous on the aftermarket & I've never been a fan of how the jointing on those breaks the spider, but then this one solved that. Though, while it's not accurate to the time period I still would've loved to get an unmasked blonde head, just to have a Ben Reilly head that is 100% identifiable as only Ben Reilly. For now I guess I'll just use a Peter head for him & have my Peter be the bearded Peter head from the old Captain Universe figure.

I do wish the red was a darker red. I always remember the scarlet spider suit being darker than Peter's costume. That's one thing the retro scarlet spider from a few years back had going for it. I do like how the figure came out looking still though!
You say you don't want Cell Shading quite buuuut what if they accurately depicted that heavily inked shading style from them mid 90s which they replicated in Across the Multiverse ✒️🦑♥️🕷️🕸️

This looks really good! The fact that I'm actually thinking about getting it despite owning the Mafex says it all! The belt and hoodie also help hide the dated ab crunch and waist swivel. Plus... we got the necessary hands! Twas a dark time, getting only two mismatched hands...
Which figures don't have dated ab crunches or waist swivel, you reckon? The 'Renew your vows' body plan, to me, seems quite new. That is, me since summer '22 becoming familiar with what Marvel legends put out.

Thinking of maybe getting me an extra one to open and customize it using the Peter Parker head that came with the Renew your Vows set. It's just doing nothing in my ziploc bag of extra stuff, and maybe I could paint his hair blonde. I think if they used the same body then it shouldn't look too weird. Not sure I'm doing it, but just a thought.
Finally!!! I ordered mine as well, but here in EU the release date is May 1st, so I have to wait... but it looks great!!!

Likewise, can’t wait for this one to hit near me. I do find it a bit humorous when the ML team goes out of their way to give the full hand sets - but Ben could get away without thwippers, as he’d modified his webshooter triggers. On the other hand, not every artist remembered that.
I'm keen to get mine. I've been a fan of Ben since the late 90s and when I got into collecting Spidey Marvel Legends in 2021, both versions of Scarlet Spider has been top of my list. I've resisted paying the £100+ I see either get listed with, and as soon as this figure was even rumoured, I kept a close eye for the preorders. To be honest, I've preordered two, but once one has dispatched I'll cancel the other order.

I don't like the inverted ab thing that legends do but it's not gonna be an issues on this figure. I just wish they had just stuck the hinge joint for the neck cause Hasbro can't do double ball pegs. I hate that gap it has when looking up😓😓. Still I will pick him up cause he looks more bulky and asthetic wise this legends actually looks better than the mafex and won't have the issues that mafex had

Ben Reilly is one of the greatest Marvel characters ever created. Criminally underused and treated like dirt, but easily my favourite Spider-Man and at his best as the Scarlet Spider, I need this figure and I’m getting one
Yeah, an unmasked head would’ve been great, since I consider this version is from the animated series which he was blonde.

I really love Ben’s version of the Spider-Man costume but I have to say I’ve never been a fan of the scarlet spider look, seems a bit plain to me. I know that’s what they were going for but I always felt the leaned into it too far. That’s why I’m one of the few that passed on him.
The simple side of this suit is precisely what I like. Plus, to me and many others, Ben Reilly will forever be Scarlet Spider and his other suits are just extras. That said, I can understand your opinion.
Not bad, but I'll stick with the Mafex hands down

Agree to disagree. No Marvel Legend will ever best a Mafex. Accessories alone. But especially with a Spider-Man figure. Mafex Spidey articulation is second to none.
