I've started looking up information about the 4th Armored Division after talking to my grandpa. He was stationed in Heilbronn in the mid 50's

I was with the 4th Armored Division/ 144th Signal Battalion in 1969 and 1970 when this video was made at Cooke Barracks, Goppingen and around Germany!

My brother Mike was over there in Vietnam at this time from 1969 to 1970 as a US Navy river rat! RIP Mike 2019.

I was put in for E-5 Buck Sergeant July 1970. I was getting myself ready to report to the Board at Cooke Barracks, but on September 17th 1970 I received orders to report back to the States for an emergency leave, and I was reassigned to Fort Leonard Wood with the Military UP'S unit until I ETS out Dec. 1970. Never got my chance to get my promotion to E-5.

I was stationed in Goppingen Germany 4th Armor Division in 1968 and 1969 and my MOS was infantry. I was waiting in line to be processed and saw a solider carrying a computer print out which was rare back then. He said they had a computer on the base. I saw a Colonel and I jumped out of line and told him I have computer experience (worked at a bank in data processing back then) and did they need anyone in that section. He told me to get my ass back in line. Ten minutes later he sent for me and I stayed there working in the data processing department. However the computer was a glorified card reader and you had to program boards like a switch board to get your desired results. Nice thing back then the dollar was worth 4 Mark plus which went a long way in Germany.

Dear @allenfinatri.. Thanks for your freshly comment. I have seen u posted it just 2 days ago.
First, i am Michael from Göppingen. A. 24 year old boy who is really interested into the history of our city, since there are so many hidden but massive things going around this place for years.
My friends lives at the officers houses. It is the small street up a little hill. Also to find there is a roundabout where some people say, underneath there is a big empty room which back then in Hitlers times, it contained a lot of water inside to flood the airfield to make a lake out of it. All for the purpose of not getting destroyed by the us air force.. Thats why it was the only intact german airfield after ww2 ended.
I am coming to this video and comment section, because we need the people who can tell us more about all the tunnel systems underneath the cookie Baracks and probably all of Goepinngen. Its a conspiracy, but we can see it with our own eyes. Many people talked about this tunnels, and now i am here to ask you, for any clue you might have?
I appreciate all informations. Best regards, Michael

Excellent historical video. If you were stationed in Furth in the 62-63 years there are two videos of the 24th Engineer Battalion on You Tube.
