Good analysis. I’m just going to add my two cents: boundaries. It’s not always about not being able to accept love. When someone pulls away and goes cold, maybe they are the type of person to heal in private. As a child, maybe as an only child, they had their own selves to comfort in quiet. It’s like a sick cat who hides to heal their wounds. It’s in their nature. And some people might have a different coping strategy, they need someone to be there for them 24/7, call it anxious attachment or in severe situations BPD.
