That’s very cool. Thanks for showing it us! I heard Marc from Long Island Watch say he would love to see a partnership between Casio and Citizenship to see an Automatic Duro. That would be something else. Thanks!
I have an MDV-130 and a vintage frogman... I can agree with you that Casio did make better stuff back then. It reminds me of the super illuminator on some of the new watches. Great feature on a meh watch. This seems very nice on the other hand! Weight doesn't mean quality but it does give you assurance haha! In 2005 I was an 18 year old kid hahahaha! That means you and I share both watch tastes and a birthyear by the sounds of it. That also means the big 40 is looming for you too. 🥲Have a fantastic weekend bro!
That’s a nice fine. I’ve seen those on eBay as well and yes you are right. Some of them are beat to shit but still that’s a classic. I remember back in the days 80s 90s going to stores and seeing watches like that absolutely missed those times.
I am actually kinda confused why Casio never made G-Shock in this visual. This is gorgeous. I had mine 15 years ago but was dropped and light button mashed inside can't be repaired thus the light is constantly on which is draining the battery. Thus now unusable. But. Still looks gorgeous. I think Casio listened about the problem and made the later model with button protected
one of your coolest videos, never knew about this model but it did strike something special, plus that montage in k-mart was awesome. Does it need an adapter to put on the NATO strap?
I have one sitting on my nightstand right now - I love it I need to get anew bezel insert, its work from love. The MDV-102 is SO MUCH better than the new Duro replacement.
I like the current Duro, but it is a damn shame that Casio opted to remove the 102 from their catalogue, because the Duro is NOT an acceptable replacement.
I've got 2 of these one in mint condition which is kept that way the other has a few acrylic scratches and is in the midst of getting a polywatch clean up which I use for regular wearing. This to me is the best of the Duro range, it has the LED backlight to compensate for the average to poor lume ( as you mention this was a bargain price watch and no bargain watches had good lume back then) , but unlike most of the Casio diver style watches with the LED light it has the full 200m rating, it's basically an MDV-106 but better. Ones in good condition are getting hard to find and prices are going up so anyone who has one should keep it nice and hang on to it. cheers!
Really nice watch. Ok, 20 years ago 80 bucks didn't been the same as today but a value is absolutely insane. In my opinion it would be great even without the date window. It's impossible to find a new parts for it today which is really sad situation. It seems like since the beginning Casio builds some unknown masterpieces but it takes a decades to be recognized and then it's usually too late. And also it seems like Casio have some ''hidden gems'' period once in a 10 years but somehow that goes under the radar. To be honest, I'm really not sure will that happen in this decade. I like it a lot more than Duro MDV-106, every single part of the watch looks nicer and sturdier. Good job
Exactly. The 106 is "okay"; nothing special. The 102 was very special. Maybe the fact that it was discontinued makes it so much better. Who knows. I don't understand what the hell any of these companies are thinking.
Again, you managed to surprise me. I like Casios line up today, but damn did they build nice watches before. I have a question, can you activate the light without compromising WR?
@degenerateWA A few actually - DW5600C, DW6600, DW270 are hhe ones I own personally. Practically any Gshock or Casio (other than F91 types I.e. super cheap) prior to about year 2000 will have a trimmer. 🫡
I demand a photo shot of this watch with a cup of coffee immediately soldier! 🫡 😂 Btw You are also dense in a way that we know it’s something good I liked the b roll while you story told in 2005 context 👍
I got out of boot camp in 1986. LOL That is a cool Casio in any scenario.
Right on ya old bastard 😁
Thank you for your service🍻
And loved my Cavalier Mr. Blast from the past😤
Whoa bro, I'm all about the Cavalier, don't play now
That’s very cool. Thanks for showing it us! I heard Marc from Long Island Watch say he would love to see a partnership between Casio and Citizenship to see an Automatic Duro. That would be something else. Thanks!
I think the internet would shut down if there ever was an automatic Casio release
My local Target used to stock a bunch of cool Timexes. It was a great time as a kid
I feel this comment. 🍻🍻
You are absolutely right. That was the best.
🍻🍻🍻
Wow!!! This man is Back to the Future certified 😅
I stay ready yesterday😎

We're just getting better with age😎🍻
@@degenerateWA I dont know about that but its good to be positive in your old age hahahaha!
Great content bro
Much appreciated🍻

Nothing better than those random trips to the store for no reason and picking up an absolutely legendary watch👌
@@degenerateWA I agree my friend that’s how I grew up

If the Japanese are good at anything, it's making the coolest stuff ever and discontinuing them👎
Can’t believe how pricey these are now.
Once Casio discontinues a model the prices skyrocket.
It is unfortunate

No it does not.

You have excellent foresight. A mint condition 102 is a special thing indeed👌🍻

That watch is ready for combat
I know countless divers and NSW folk that rock the Duro. They swear by them.

I have a question, can you activate the light without compromising WR?
Great to hear🍻
No, depressing the pusher does not compromise WR. The manual only has a precaution for diving with the crown unscrewed.
@@degenerateWA That is great.
If only the seconds hand alignment didn't suk.
When you're as filthy wealthy as I am, trivial things like second hand alignment and good quality control mean nothing to me.
Cool
Coming from someone with a name like that, I'm honored🍻
Hard to find !
Hard to find in good condition and reasonable price
Hello.... How can I get the same model of Casio watch?
Google search "Casio MDV102" and best of luck🍻
My brother has one :)
And your brother is a legend👌

did you know your company just filed for bankruptcy and is under indictment for human trafficking?
Certainly Casio digitals were better. All had trimmers and with not much work, 1 sec per month is possible. 😊
Which digital Casio was that?
