Glad you liked the guitar!
Hey chibson who are you pissing off today?
What’s up chibson?
Hey Gibson, you don’t have to do that.
Only a chibson is good enough
Hey, Chibson
Can't wait for the Schecter Air Guitar demo, love that transparent finish and I bet those no coil pickups sound great. :)
Its a beauty
I have a literal Nocaster I played at the air guitar championships. I lost to a guy playing a vintage Gibson NothingBird. 😞
No buzz at all.
Headstock didn't break = not a Gibson.
😂
If a Gibson or Epiphone falls forward the back of the headstock breaks
😆 good one
Christopher Page Right, that’s his point
@@Christopherrpage9767 Same thing happened to my acoustic bass. (50$ nobrand)
You can tell it isn’t authentic because the headstock didn’t break.
:) LOL the old ones are the best. Gibson largely sorted that out years ago. The angle remains but the area around the headstock is stronger. Unless you drop or abuse the guitar, you wont have a problem.
@@Spartanm333 i dropped my 1st gibson les paul i got it this christmas it bounced off the floor a tiny little chip in the wood luckily i didnt break it i nearly died, fking strap came off when i was playing xD
@@ms2k7 - :) which is exactly why I put a heavy duty suede strap on mine out of the box with rubber grommet locks. For £30 it's not worth messing about. Pic: bit.ly/3aVd97g Suede on the inside of the strap also helps stop the guitar moving about as they are not light as you will know. This will help with neck dive on an SG as well. I've recently bought some German Schaller locking pegs to try, but probably on a less expensive guitar first :) and be careful with the screw depth on these - tell them its for a LP. You can get a grommet for free from a Groltsch beer bottle cap (apparently) although I bought a pack with mixed sizes and depths on Amazon. On all my guitars now. Pic: bit.ly/38TFYza
Gibson: 17 degree angle headstock, one-piece neck; Epiphone/chibson: 14 degree angle, scarf joint
One much easier to make than the other.
@@Spartanm333 my EPI LP tribute plus 60s came with strap locks, saved me a few quid I guess.
Marketing team: “Without a headstock it would look just plain weird”.
Headless guitars are fugly. Every. Single. One of them.
Every gibson can be a headless guitar pretty easily 😂
@@aprilkurtz1589 I think they look sick, could just be me and my Djenty taste.
April Kurtz fugly means “fat and ugly”
Wish you could focus on one guitar I really don't understand the point of this Video you're kind of all over the place
I bet Jimmy Page would do something really funny with it, like write a song on it... I really hope you don't purposely break it. It looks beautiful
Change the head logo to TG and play it.
@@Peter-ff1tp I understand the problem with China undercutting the American brands. I agree with you on that, but I also believe guitars are for playing. I lost a lot of sympathy for Gibson when they destroyed all those Firebird X guitars that could have been given to schools, or they could have done anything other than making that egocentric video of someone driving a machine over perfectly useable guitars. They didn’t even take the parts off before destroying them. Certainly at the very least they could have salvaged the bridges and tuners. Waste not want not.
@@Peter-ff1tp not to beat a dead horse, but another nuanced point is that Gibson has agreements with Chinese factories to make those same guitars for Epiphone in those very same factories. The real businesses getting hurt are the guitar stores because they can’t legally sell Chibsons and no one wants to buy an Epiphone double neck for $1250 when they can buy an Epiphone double neck that says Gibson for 400. It probably helped Gibson by bringing a lot of new people into the market to eventually buy the real thing when they get sick of the Chibson.
Honestly I’d buy the fake Gibson it still looks great and probably sounds alright
NEVER CUT TOWARDS YOURSELF!
Yes boy scout!!
And don’t run with scissors ✂️..
I noticed that too, he's going to slice his arm wide open one of these days.
Never cut towards your throat...fingers grow back.
And he used his left hand while cutting towards himself. Lol
I remember when the Corvus came out. It was ugly then, and it hasn't improved with age.
You know, the oddest thing is they play really really well, at least the ones I have played. Local shop had an orange two humbucker one in for $350 a few years ago, still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger despite the fact they are bug fugly.
It's not saying much, but I think the Corvus would have looked better as a headless guitar. The body has all the goofy elements that just seem like it would work and look better as a headless. Better still means better, even if it's only by a fraction.
Agreed! It looks and sounds like an abortion.
HORRIFIC UGLY
Looks like a mangled mod!
this video made me realize how much unboxing videos are SO much more enjoyable when they're about something that you're interested in. thank you sir :)
5:14 a whole new meaning to “nocaster”
Gibson is a bit odd sometimes. They’ve always seemed to come out with models that are either ultra traditional or completely out there and just radically weird lol In 1959 you could get a burst Les Paul or a Explorer and not a lot of middle ground.
"i'd never do two fake outs in a video!"
immediately aged poorly
Schecter? I don't even know her!
How could you never hear about Schecter guitars? They have very high quality guitars without the huge sticker prices! They have become very popular over the last 10 years!
@@leonardszubinski4709 haha you missed the joke
I love that double neck chibson. I'd happily pay shipping to have it!
You should do a giveaway for the Chibson. Make the winner pay you for shipping. I'd rock that in a heartbeat.
Same. Scrape off the Gibson logo and drill a hole in the headstocks to make them not illegal to sell
@@moonchild4806 I think it's only illegal if he charges for it. He can do a giveaway with paid shipping. Defacing it would be excessive but I understand what you mean. There is a risk someone might try to pass it off as real down the road, but I'm sure that most Trogly fans and subscribers to his channel are good guys and would never take advantage of anyone like that.
Factory Bear everyone says this that they will do no evil, but then you see fake Gibson guitars in stores, posted online, and read stories of people who got ripped off. If you really want the guitar because it’s a cool guitar, cutting the top of the headstock off shouldn’t matter to you.
@@wilson4180 well actually it would because it would look like shit.
@@sstace69 then save up and buy a real one of the headstock look means that much to you.
my heart actually sunk when you opened the shecter case, you got Me good trogly
Looking for a double neck chipson like that sg. Where would be a good place to get one? I love the real deal but dont have the money for one
Hey buddy love ur channel
About 7 weeks ago I bought a new 2019 Gibson les paul classic. Satin honey finish.my question is any interest in my guitar for a older les paul.im wanting a 70s or 80s Gibson in good shape.every thing I own is newer and I'm wanting something older and your one I'd trust in making a good deal with.
Thank you and let me know what you think.
FWIW, I have a Chibaon Les Paul Gold Top that I love. When I got it brand new ($320 incl a nice solid case), I spent time leveling and polishing frets, adjusting neck, action, intonation, pup height etc. It now plays fantastic. I’m not a Gibson guy, but I’ve played a few. That said, my clone feels pretty real…
I wouldn’t destroy the Chibson. Just brand, “FAKE” in big letters on the back of the headstock and take the Gibson logo off. *shrug*
Yup, if it plays somewhat decent I'd just keep it or just give it away to some kid.
tincanspaceman i’d cut it in half to see what it’s made of, then you’d have 2 guitars.
Ya, and then donate it or something. It's likely a perfectly playable instrument.
Some fakes are better than the originals sometimes, the neck body a quality finish, .most just need a bit of tweeking and some good pickups bridge and tuners. Cheers
I'd just paint "Authentic" across it.
Hey Trogly what was that ESP off brand called that made that Jazzmaster copy? I saw it in your Edwards mini LP video but couldn’t see the name of the website
You think you could review a Univox Hi-Flier? They’ve always seemed interesting to me and I’d love to get one
I had one they're pretty good. Sounds pretty unique
A cheap Mosrite knockoff with really hot pickups. You're welcome!
Seriously though if Kurt Cobain hadn't used them they'd just be another forgotten knockoff.
Didn’t Cobain use a Gospel of which only 2 were ever made?
Bellocks1 Yes, in 1990 he used one. Near the end of his career, his guitar tech was going to make him one since he liked it so much, but for obvious reasons it wasn’t made. More than 2 were made, but it is still a very rare guitar
Aneurysm thanks for the clarification. I heard many tales about the Gospel, such as only the owner and Cobain ever had one of them, while it was never explained how it got into Kurt’s hands. Never trust the internet lol
I was watching the Anderton's video of NAMM and I fell in love with that red and gold Uptown cat. What a novel. What a novel, yet simple and effective idea to put gold on the back.
YES! I can’t wait to see your review on the uptown Kat! I’ve been ES shopping for a while and was really interested from NAMM videos but I want to hear those pickups or know if I can easily replace with p90’s before I dove off into it and there’s not much info on these out yet.
Love the show man
Trogly, did you see the alex lifeson epiphone artist model that andertons accidentally leaked? if so whats your opinion! Also love your unboxing videos!!
Hawk, 😱

@@JohnnyArtPavlou Thankyou buddy!
Yeah! Want to know more about those! There’re being really tight lipped about them.
Always enjoy your unboxing videos but I was surprised to see a Squier, not that I wouldn't rock it though.
Edit: Last unboxing, not this one... Also we used to call the old Epiphone headstock the "Bikini Bottom"
11:09 why has the nut pushed to the left on the 12 string side is that what happened when it knocked over?
It is interesting to see that the Chibson is a truer Jimmy Page copy with the extended harp section between bridge and tailpiece.
That epiphone was beautiful, hope it plays as good it looks.
the general consensus is without replacing a few things they really aren't, you take a chance when you get them, sometimes you get something totally unplayable and other times you get a guitar that is playable but of course with shitty hardware. I bought a blank sg last year from china (no logo!) and after receiving it and fixing/replacing hardware its really nice! though like i said half of the time you'll get something that is so totally fucked its impossible to fix. I like mine though.
hey mr trogly how many guitars do you have in your personal collection ?ie. not for sale
What do you think of the law suit Ibanez les Paul’s? I have the blank headstock model and love it.
BamaBluesBoy2 I have a Penco and for the money it’s better than most other les Paul’s I’ve played
Hey Troggie! note the wad o wire viewed through your lower f-hole of that Epi.
Rockcats got a problem of too much wire soakin up the tone. They benefit from a professional rewiring. Tone comes back and they're great guits.
Are you going to sale the Chibson, cause i am interested.
how do you keep the camera balanced on top of your head?!?! 😆👍🎸 cheers
That wildcat epiphone in red is 1 of the nicest guitars I've seen
The “Gretschiphone” looks pretty snazzy in the red you have I l’ll have to try and play one sometimez
i'd imagine the double neck having more surface area to distribute the force of the fall probably helped.
Nice video! But i got a question...
What do you think about Harley Benton guitars?
That epi hollowbody is amazing!!!
I don’t know if you will see this but if you do , I bought a jimmy page les Paul in 1996 from guitar center and when I bought it I didn’t know any better and neither did the guy selling it but they gave me the regular brown les Paul case. Not till years later did I realize I should have gotten a special black page case. I have the guitar center hangtags and stuff but it kind of makes me mad now lol. If you ever come across that case can you let me know ? Thanks a bunch.
Green and gold on the epiphone looks sooo good
The wood on the '93 sure is nice.. No surprise it sold instantly.
Schecters are my favorite, being a lefty. I have four of them and my C-1 Hellraiser Passive FR (Floyd Rose) is my favorite instrument even over my lefty 2018 Gibson Explorer. I love my Explorer but my C-1 Hellraiser is pure bliss to play.
When schecter first came out with the hellraiser series my dad helped me buy a white c-1 hellraiser with an ofr. Loved that guitar.
HI. Love your show. I have been watching since I started playing guitar about 6 months ago. I love learning about the history of guitars and have you to thank for starting that.
I have been learning about all the different kinds of thin line and hollow body's out there trying to decide what I want..[err... need??] I came across the D Angelico Deluxe SS in Matte wine "limited edition" . Its listed on Sweetwater as a pre order for $1999.99, and says that only 25 will be sold in the US. Purely from a collectors point of view would this be of interest?
I would appreciate your input or anybody else's opinion on the potential value of items like this. Personally I think that pretty much of what D Angelico is making is damn gorgeous. I would personally prefer a carved top Flame maple instead of laminate but alas those things are usually out of my price range. Thanks for any input and maybe you could unbox a few of these, it would be fun..
Please say you ordered the Miles Dmitri Barker custom schecter thats about to be available for purchase
I enjoy your demos and would love to see some Epiphone demos. What they compare might to on the Gibson side, how they sound and how they are assembled, pickups, weight, just like you do with the Gibson guitars. I'm not looking for an Epiphone but I watched your Glarry demos and I wasn't looking for a Glarry either. It is all good solid information and far better than anything on TV. Rock on!!!
Jesus that epiphone finish is awesome!
If you re-sell a new guitar?
is the Gibson lifetime warrenty still in efect?
damn, the double neck does look pretty good. no doubt there are probably small issues here or there but no to shabby..
What was the Epiphone semi hollow model called?
Wow the Red and Gold Epiphone is to die for truly beautiful, the Chibson double neck, I wouldn’t have known that, looking at my screen anyway.
Was there ever a more in depth review on that uptown cat??? Thinking of getting one I’d love to hear what you think of it
anyone know where i can find unboxing #3?
So. You’re going to separate the double neck right?
I just want you to see my comment anyway, I have no idea what I'm doing but I've been watching this channel for almost 3 years now.
Thanks for watching!
I like the fact that Padpak paper was used to pack the shecter case :) I fix those machines for a living
So, can I get the chibson? I'd love that for my studio
My wife has an Epiphone Wildkat with a Bigsby in Chicago Blue Pearl. It's a great guitar but a little heavy for a hollow body.
7:27 you should put that sticker on the door or somewhere in that room
You know it’s a Chibson if the headstock didn’t break.
Jimmy Durex I couldn’t resist 😂
God that was so funny and original and creative. How low did it took to come up with that all by yourseld
Any interest in a 1994 Fender Strat 40th Anniversary Edition? Awesome guitar. Great finish. Original owner. Had one of the pots replaced about 10 years ago. There’s a loose connection in the positioning switch. Hard shell Fender TSA case....since the airlines broke the original case.
Did you ever film the follow-up episode with the fake?
What did u do to the chibson
always love your videos. audio quality is a bit weird on this one though. keep up the good work!
I might be gunning for that Corvus. I wanted the futura bad but couldn’t afford it at the time. I love weird Gibson. My current bass is the parts bin that is the Q80
1:03 A month into 2020 you say? I bet it's going to be a great year!
Way to go on the epiphone 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 let’s see a bad ass Les Paul from them 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 please Trogly
The headstock logo on the Uptown Kat looks like a pair of tighty-whities.
It's called the Bikini logo!
I'll never look at it the same lol
@@moonchild4806 Wow, such a strange design aesthetic.
Should check out all the kats range!!
Alleykat
Wildkat
Flamekat.
I had them all at one point!!! Still have the alleykat 👌🏻
Am curious to know how much the crank out tuners are.
I sell sets for $299.
How do i get the fake double neck?
How much would you possibly sell that Chibson for, or how much do they normally sell for? As long as it plays well, I would LOVE to have a guitar like that!
Lol he cut it up
Just cut the small center tape on the top front your opening and the 2 cardboard sides! How would the fall/tip over hurt it? It's was in a case and packed!!
I’ve played a corvus 2 and they are damn weird guitars, the pickups sounded like they lacked a mid range and it never quite sat right right either when standing or sitting, but I kinda liked it. Very cool!
I would get rid of the Gibson logos and then buy some Chibson decals to replace them. Maybe have the headstocks re-contoured to change them up from the Gibson trademark. Personally, as someone who doesn't run a youtube channel about guitars I would leave it as it is and just stamp a honking great FAKE on the back over the "serial numbers", nice and deep and possibly with heat so it chars the area a little so its really difficult to remove. And the only reason I would do that is to prevent puke buckets from trying to sell it off as genuine if I ever gave it away.
If I were to ever buy a Gibson USA guitar (unlikely) I would get an Epiphone case for it. That way if you’re walking around, it’s way less likely to get stolen.
Honestly I was expecting a heart cause I was disappointed with the guitars you unboxed this episode... But that epiphone knocked it out of the park! They are killing it this year! Great video anyway thanks for the hard work.
Schecter made a Mike Tempesta of Powerman 5000 guitar that looks really cool. In fact you might get one for us?
I still have the Musicians Friend catalog from 00 showing the M-33 custom shop.
Austin,
Why all the reverb on the voice audio❓
You opened the case and I was not expecting the double neck hahaha
A double neck log of firewood. SMOKING!!!!
the semi hollow epiphone killed it! love from philippines
Epiphone headstock is dope!
the guitars with a sentimental value are the best, my mother bought me a 1987 marlin k34t sidewinder when i was 17 years old (it was £150 which was way way over my budget at the time haha).
It started when i saw it hung up in my favourite guitar shop, somehow it stood out from the rest to me, for months I'd go in that shop just to look at it and see it was still there, i spoke about it lots until one day it wasn't hung up there anymore, but i didn't let it get me down because i knew i was broke, however little did i know my mum got it for me for that christmas, i was shocked and amazed as i had only spoken about it, never showed a picture but she knew exactly which one! and since then it has been my go-to gigging guitar!
Moms are the best.
Weird with that first guitar they didn't also abandon the body shape with the decision not to go headless.
I imagine it is a bit neck heavy and there would be less surface area to finish by filling in that vee part of the body for a starters.
Even if the headless design was not appealing, just to put a headed neck on a strange body is even less appealing.
I just got my schecter stiletto custom-5 last Friday. Love it. It’s amazing. I wanted the schecter case too. But it was too much.
How much for the Chibson?
every time I see an Epiphone i just get so happy knowing they're about to start making american guitars again, one day I hope they get back to new york
ZapRockSkull lets just hope they dont start getting expensiver 😂
James Gubbins silence poor
Gabe Morehouse silence poor 😂, doesnt make sense and plus who says im poor. Some people
Gabe Morehouse I didn’t say anything bad in the first place
ZapRockSkull Try to find a limited edition Gibson Custom Shop made one like the ‘93 Rivieras. I wish you good luck on these ones : only 300 were made (299 six strings and a single 12). Or wait for another model in the future.
That Wilcat is super cool!
IF you ever sell that chibson, I wanna buy it off ya :P Been wanting a double neck SG of ANY kind for a while, but dont have the budget for a real gibson/ even the epiphone ones for 1 grand are abit much atm.
Been wanting one to play live for fun, and to not be worried about trashing it. :D
Try a Harley Benton. You can get them on the Thomann website for around 500 bucks they usually need a fretjob and better electronics, but the wood is a solid base from my experience. Ships from Germany tho, so maybe a little tax on it.
@@freshtea228 yeah I've seen em before, the import shipping n such just doesn't seem to be up my alley. Thanks for the tip though! Who knows maybe I'll end up with one anyway haha
That Epi is awesome, beautiful guitar
Unboxing yes. Best thing on UA-cam
i remember the vintage jaguar had a mechanical string mute on it
Interesting... My guitar teacher had a black Corvus with 2 HBs running through a Peavey Studio Chorus 212 . At the time I had a Schecter Strategy T shaped object and a Peavey bandit 65. 35 years ago... Wish I'd kept the amp.....
That wildcat is a beauty. I’m wondering what they go for in same color.
Chibsons rule. With Gibson hardware, proper pickguard and trussrod cover, I LOVE mine.
Your channel rawks. Seems epiphone is kicking it up a notch. My Snow Falcon is pretty dam good for the money. I got a great deal on it but if I had paid $900 the price it was going for I still would have been happy with it. So I decided to order the Tommy Thayer electric blue guitar. Also Schecter guitars are awesome. Never had a bad one and I have 6 of them from new to going back to 2007.
I have the Flamekat, bought it when it came out. Real Gibson NY Mini HBs, ebony fretboard with DIce inlays and dice on pu switch vol tone and master vol. Totally awesome looking and sounding axe/ That Uptown should be awesome as well.
