So if sweat is bad for your ring, what can people with chronically sweaty hands do?
How long does hand sanitizer take to damage your ring because I work in healthcare so I have to use sanitizer daily - on the ring too or it will stay dirty. ?? Does it hurt the diamond or the gold?
I’m guilty of wearing to the gym, applying sanitizer, and lifting or moving heavy things. Well, I can say I was guilty until I found your channel! I now take off my ring when i’m sleeping, yard work, swimming, etc., AND I have a designated place I leave my ring when not wearing. You have great suggestions!!!!

Proud to say I’ve never done any of it! I’m religiously taking my ring off whenever needed! Even the bonus point one! Everytime I have to push a luggage up I take my ring off first! No I don’t nothing happen to my gorgeous large radiant stone with pave, no thank you!

Me neither!! I’m too OCD to mess with my diamonds & I know gold is a soft metal. I work in medicine & only wear my wedding band & diamond studs to work. (A girl’s gotta have *some* bling!! lol!!)
Is there any concern with an ultrasonic cleaner? How often can I use it on my rings?
I got engaged last year with one of your rings ❤️ and my now husband made me watch literally the next day your previous video talking about this haha! Every time I’m talking with other girls and I explain how I don’t cook, clean, shower, sleep, gym, carry groceries or heavy stuff with my ring on they are like uughhh I can’t live without my ring. And I’m like, me either and that’s why I take care of it ❤️❤️

I am GUILTY!! I had no idea that hand sanitizer, handling weights, pulling luggage, and swimming would harm my ring. Well, I am so grateful for this video. I will definitely start taking my ring off more. Thank you.

I don't do any of those things. I've spent too much money and love on my jewelry to junk it around. Tip from a lifelong gemmaphile: buy a plain gold wedding band to wear during activities that could damage your expensive diamond rings. I have a simple 4mm 14Kyellow gold band that I wear when I'm doing things that could damage my expensive wedding/engagement rings. I feel naked without a wedding ring on my finger after close to 30 years of marriage. This is a nice compromise.

I wear my plain band. Because of my work, washing hands 100+ times a shift and hand sanitizer every time in between and glove changes. I never travel so i dont have to worry about the overhead compartment luggage thing....and I dont set foot in a gym 😂. I will tell you though, I have been guilty of bringing multiple bags of groceries in the house with rings on. I try not to do groceries when I am wearing my green emerald halo ring. Always afraid of hitting it wrong.
Great video!! We need this. I can honestly say, I do NONE of these!! I was in the biz myself for a while and learned quite a bit. I learned when taking your ring off, the best way is to grip it from the sides, lift it up and over your knuckle. I have issues with my fingers swelling in humidity. I rarely use sanitizer. When I do, I put a small bit into my palms. I do, however, wash my hands with my rings on. I don't like taking them off in public places, so, I got used to just leaving them on. I'm careful when drying my hands though. Sometimes, I fall asleep with my rings on and I'm not sure if that's good or not.

Thankfully, I don't do any of these...except the overhead luggage thing but my ring is thick and also 2.2mm. I do wear it doing housework (but I wear gloves anyway) + sleeping (but I sleep on satin sheets?) and when I shower, it gets a toothbrush clean too once in a while lol

Never have been guilty. I'm in my 60s and I learned all of this and then some as soon as I was old enough to have the wherewithall to take care of my own jewelry. I even have several baby bracelets that are perfect that my mother took care of. I've been taking care of my jewelry since I was 10. I have my jewelry that I may have worn on the regular checked a few times a month to make sure all of the stones are intact. I have never polished anything. ✌️

The platinum 900 and 18k gold on our wedding bands hasn't been affected with diluted alcohol from hand sanitisers. Can't say for any other gold variants.
So assume it doesn't the platinum 950 used for diamond rings, or the diamond itself?
I have an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and have been told not to use it all the time with my French pave’ ring because it can loosen the stones. Is this true? I love how h ring looks when it’s shiny clean.
Very true! 🙌 The vibrations generated by the cleaner may gradually weaken the prongs holding the stones in place, leading to a higher risk of them becoming loose or even dislodging.
What about sauna? I get anxious about having to take my ring off and on every time I go to the gym , sauna etc. I feel I'll lose it.
