- We're at an 1800's school house / historic church in Franklin County, MO. This week we're trying to see if we can figure out where the kids played or where they may have had church events. There was also known to be civil war activity in the area. Let's see if we can get on the X!

Happy Hunting ✌🏼
Liked the history segment.
Amazing place. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks! Lots and lots of potential- Already day dreaming about getting back out there.
great hunting and video. the history part was cool. I love wheats and esp buffalo nickels. I finally dug one the other day too, of course it was just after the gopro battery died!
@@JoyofTreasureHunting see that go pro on my shoulder? Completely forgot to incorporate the footage 😂
@OffTrailTreasures haha I actually was wondering about that 😆
The emotional rollercoaster from that nickel man. I hope I can help you get one soon. I haven't dug a buffalo yet lol
@@codylovelace2237 😂 it was real too! Something about what I saw had me thinking it was a slightly different size than your average Jefferson
Here's an interesting fact. They never made a clad nickel. Most people don't know this. They are made of an alloy of 25% nickel and 75% copper. They've been made like this since day 1😮 well except the war nickels which had 35% silver.
I bet that 2nd Jefferson was from the 30s or 40s!
Great job and keep digging them iffy ones!
Huh- I guess I just assimilated the common vernacular. Thanks for the tidbit. I should check the date on that Jefferson and see.
@OffTrailTreasures absolutely! Then you'll feel more accomplished when in fact you could be digging old coins!
I like to know dates so at least I can guess on what's left if someone has already hit the place.
@codylovelace2237 yep. And nickels are prefect to date places because so many people skip the nickels
@MD-NWWI something I've wondered and never googled: did older 5-cent pieces have any nickel in them? I know for example that people call it the shield nickel but I've always wondered if it actually had nickel in it or if it's because they're used to calling 5 pieces nickels...
Hey. That link thing looked like a fire striker.
@@Earth-Chiming I hadn't thought about that. You might be right
In the cemetery what is the earliest dates of death? That may help date the buildings.
@@michaelbittner6484 I think there may be one or two that predate 1820. I will have to double check. Great thought on that
