So Darius. Got a question: Who's the wrong one here? Who's the real enemy and antagonist? Who is right? Yeahhh.... AoT is on a whole another level bro.
this episode is so good, they did well with reiner backstory and the cinematographic. since you're so immense to the plot, i suggest you to read chapter 95 - 97 (first half) for the little detail about reiner backstory that did get cut out, because they crammed 3 chapter instead of 2 in this episode.
Whats the most ironic thing when you saw Falco and Eren at the bench, Eren's VA is Sabito from Demon Slayer, and Falco's VA is Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, always thought that was funny.
Great reaction man!I highly,HIGHLY suggest you reading the 96 chapter of the manga, that is the chapter of this episode and there are so much more derails in it!
I got a little bit irritated when people hated Bertholdt, Reiner etc. up to how but it was understandable. After the last few episodes, if Reiner were to die or something I would expect heavy emotions.
Regarding Kenny and Annie --> She tried to locate the true king of the walls by following Kenny but failed and he saw that she was following him. This “illegitimate daughter” ploy was her way to get out of this situation. That’s it.
Lol and Kenny was like: bitch I'm asexual homoromantic whatcha even talking about Note: I know Kenny's orientation wasn't confirmed and he said he promised something to his sister. This was a joke.
The hot dang writing in this series is undisputedly the greatest. Flawless narrative and story writing. The level of perspective that shown. Reiner's reason why he broke the walls, his parallel to Eren, and even his regrets via suicide attempt AHHHH!! GOAT series man 10/10 episode again.
Yo if you enjoyed this ep i’d look into the manga! So much of the deeper stuff had to be cut for the main stuff to be put into the anime. Pretty sure s4 starts at chapter 90
I heavily recommend you to read the manga when this series ends. The anime is amazing but they cut out some panels that give you more context on the story and character development explanations. Like in this episode, they didn't explain the full process and reason to why they broke down the wall on that day. For now, survive the spoilers ,brother.
@@thema8871 I wouldn't say it's the more deeper stuff, I'd say personally that it's the stuff that can be possibly omitted without hurting the narrative in any way. The whole action sequence of annie calling the titans and reiner transforming was cool and all, but it still does make perfect sense even if it wasn't put in it. That's why this series is one of the GOATS, the author is directly involved and he helps in deciding what to cut which is why the drastic changes from the manga were made in season 3 part 1 and it actually worked
@@danknibba7735 I disagree. It's true it works in narrative standpoint, but it's working like movie adaptation to shorten the time. The first wall breach from the warriors POV was so impactful to me because how sloppy and desperate it was. We also get the first glimpse of the their realization that people inside the walls are not actually the devils. If I wasn't reading the manga, I'd probably think Reiner suicide attempt would be mostly because of his guilt towards Marcel death, but there's actually so much more of that. This is coming from me that not a Reiner fan. So definitely more deeper stuff were cut in this episode.
@@bayu_bejo You do make sense in your own right. In fact i might also agree with you. But frankly, I'm not bothered at all by this cut, sure it could've made things a little more compelling, but even without it, it doesn't mess with the overall story. So my standards are clearly different from yours, ao I don't mind this at all, but I would've definitely liked them putting that scene, even if it were just still frames like wit sometimes did, just to get that extra juicy perspective.
reiner is.. broken. his trauma, self-hatred, and guilt is too big for him. and he needs to live everyday while feeling like he's responsible for everything, for marco, for the death of eren's parent, for his mom, for the death and suffering of his "friends" in paradis, for the suffering of every eldians in libero, for the safety of the world, like- he really needs a break.
@@adam_clown yeah, he's the one who told them to continue the mission and he's also the one who came back to his hometown alone, leaving the other two in the island. man.. no wonder he's so depressed and suicidal.
Don't apologies for pausing. A reaction isn't just watching you, it's getting to know your thoughts and feelings. I personally prefer you going through it at the time and then at the end just rounding up any other thoughts you have afterwards rather than waiting for a 20 min long discussion at the end. Keep up the great work!
When Annie gets caught by Kenny, her cover story is that she’s his daughter by a prostitute, which could’ve worked for a lot of high ranking Military Police. He goes along with it sarcastically but the excuse obviously didn’t work with Kenny. Most likely because his own sister died from the harsh life of being an Underground City prostitute, so Kenny doesn’t go to brothels. The writer is so great at adding depth to side characters with small interactions or a couple of lines of dialogue 👍🏼
also they cut the part why annie was down when they took the wall. she had to do most of then run to the wall while being chase by titans bcs they lost the jew. she had no nergy to keep going
The way Bertholt sleeps in this episode resembles “the hanged man” in tarot cards. Look up for the meaning of the hanged man. It’ll leave u some idea what kind of person Bertholt is
@@naufalalbari The hanged man is a Tarot Card. After googling myself, it stands for being unhappy with your current situation, or for facing a dilema. This is not all but I am not copy-pasting the entire paragraphs here
What Anime cut made it look like Annie passed out during her fight with Reiner and didn't wake up 'til they were inside Wall Rose. The original plan of them was that Marcel and Annie would take turns carrying Reiner and Berthold and running to the wall in titan form. However, due to Marcel's death, Annie had to carry them running longer than she was supposed to being chased by the titans as they approached the wall. She passed out when she reached to Wall Maria because she was totally exhausted.
@Chocolate milk is the best yeah, and ppl still defend it like I don't think they've read the manga before. But tbh, I'm glad for them tho. Cuz they won't feel any pain watching this show. But for manga reader like me, I feel like they tryna end these 45+ chapters in 16 eps which I think that gonna be so fucking rush for sure.☹
To fill in something the anime cut, Annie was actually awake for the Wall Maria attack. She used her shout to bring all the Titans to the wall, but with running for her life from Ymir, to beating the shit out of Reiner before he started choking her, to walking the rest of the way to the walls she was already low on stamina, and the shout just drained all the rest of it from her. That's why she was sleeping and woke up in wall Rose with Reiner and Bertholdt.
Actually, Annie and Reiner switched places between the run towards Wall Maria. The initial plan was that for the first half after that night, Marcel in his Jaw titan form would travel half the distance, then Annie will use Her titan and her scream and run the other half of the distance and lure a large amount of Titans at the gate, but since Marcel was eaten, Reiner took his place and carried Bert and Annie for the first half, while Annie carried Reiner and Bert for the second. In the last few moments Annie was exhausted and Pure titans were right back of her Tail, if she Collapsed anytime due to exhaustion, everyone would have been devoured, Bert and Reiner had to destroy the Walls Swiftly, and due to Exhaustion Annie collapsed and Reiner had to transform To Carry Annie and pick up Bert from the wall and then he Rushed into the wall and Took out Wall Maria. Then it carries on after Annie wakes up from her sleep.
It's still so surreal to me that I'm finally seeing this season animated, it's the first season of any anime I read in manga form beforehand. It's especially neat seeing certain things that were changed between versions, more often than not it's shortened versions of longer moments, like Berthold destroying the gate to Shiganshina, but it's still fun seeing what's different
nope , titan also have abilities , like female titan who can scream to get other normal titans , or the colosal who can generate explosion and heat , and of course attack titan (eren) who have a ig ability that you'll see later
@@alaa341g zeke’s Titan has no “real” power other than being an animal. He can harden, transform others, and control titans, due to his royal blood. Marley isn’t aware of his blood or else they would’ve made him a person who could produce royal blood eldians. So they just simply refer to him as the special or gifted child.
@@2142716 yeah i know that i was just pointing that titans shifters have abilities , like warhammer who can use it from distance or attack titan who have that secret ability
I also agree. Reactors who pause are the ones who actually care. Everyone else who doesn’t pause just screams and shouts at cool scenes for easy views.
2. THE MAN'S STORY The guy never saved his 3 kids. He left them behind to save himself and he probably killed himself out of guilt. And that's when Lainah start asking WHY would devils do that. (Having guilt or those things that he think they wouldn't do) The story of that man that they met who hung himself is the story that Lainah and Betrhrlhodtt told Eren and Armin way back in S1 when they are talking in their beds at night. They took that incident and his story so that there's no loose end.
@@ap2579 yeah, some of them just skipped to specific scenes and see peoples reaction. Also some are reading comments. So yeah just to point it out again
6:37 I just realized the small (sort of) parallel that this scene has with season 1 when Armin was staying behind during training. It was Reiner who tried to help Armin by carrying his equipment during that run.
trust me when i tell you that there is no way you can even begin to think you can connect the dots. dont worry though cause everything will be explained
3. REINER It's important to note that while Lainah did grow up fast but the leadership part is imitated, I'ts not his own way of leading but what he see and what he think Marcel will do. Galliard (Marcel's brother) in the last episode ask Reiner how he was acting in Ymir's memories and insinuated that he was pretending to be a "reliable guy." Lainah lacks a strong sense of identity, he does what he told eren to do, "He is whatever he needs to be" To be a soldier for marley To be a leader for his group To be a warrior for his mission It all started when annie said that he was not good enough. He took her neck and told her that "Reiner is dead, If Marcel is what we need, I'll be."
Hey, just a reminder. Titan shifters healing is optional for them, they can decide to heal or not, like Reiner only healing that titan's bite that was on his arm when he confesed he was the armored to Eren. Also, Eren being on the war was probably fake and he probably self inflicted those wounds for making that lie more credible and staying on that hospital.
You can't help but feel bad for Reiner and the others with what they have gone through until now even though it doesn't excuse them for the actions that they did. "villain's/criminals are the products of society and the experiences that they have had".
it's a relief seeing how an anime-only not complain about the writing and didnt get confused of whats happening in this ep.. because they cut soooooo many parts and details from the manga.
The level at which Reiner is broken is hard to even put into words. Being used as a tool by his mother to raise her status to Marleyan telling him it'll bring their family back together despite her knowing full well his father wanted nothing to do with them. Which Reiner learns first hand after meeting him in person after all the years of training and perseverance he went through to be able to meet him. After learning that his whole life purpose of reuniting his family is a lie, he latches onto the next one, being a hero, a chosen warrior who will save the world from the island devils. Yet that purpose is also shattered the very same day, learning from Marcel that he wasn't even supposed to be chosen and only was because Marcel downplayed his brother so much to the military that they chose him instead. Reiner was literally just used as a sacrificial scapegoat to save his brother. And there goes Reiner's second and last purpose. This only worsens when the morning after Marcel is eaten saving Reiner right after just telling him that he's the reason he's even there in the first place. Reiner blanks out and runs away immediately as far as he can. A far cry from the hero he was proclaiming himself to be just a tiny bit earlier. With Marcel gone, Annie tells him the mission is basically hopeless and that he needs to take the blame and die for causing this. Reiner's sense of self and worth is already dead and gone at this point and after having his skull bashed in by Annie and repeatedly told how useless he is, his mental solution is to simply give up his own identity and become somebody else, Marcel. It's here we can see one of the origins of Reiner's split warrior/persona personality before he even started living with the people on Paradis. Reiner was broken from day 1 of the mission. Reiner then spends the next 5 years trying to best the best leader he can be to Bertholdt and Annie by trying to imitate Marcel as much as possible. This morphs into Reiner's soldier persona, the supportive, dependable, kind big brother figure he acts around the 104th and genuinely begins to believe he is as his dissociative personality worsens the longer he spends there. All whilst snapping out of it in his talks with Annie and Bertholdt and acting like some tough, decisive leader to them that he was never cut out to be. But hey he fakes it until he makes it not only convincing himself of his act but also Eren who openly admires him and wants to be like him more than anyone. Reiner gives him advice at one of the lowest points in Eren's life, to keep moving forward, the very same advice that lead Reiner to his current situation sat with a gun in his mouth ready to blow his brains out. It's no coincidence the scenes of him saying that are perfectly aligned with the sequence of him loading the gun and getting ready to kill himself. When Reiner returns from Paradis, he's suffering from severe survivors guilt being the only one to make it back, especially after being the one who made them continue the mission instead of turning back, trying to take responsibility by making himself the new leader to Annie and Bertholdt. Still having nightmares of Bertholdt's defeat in Shiganshina. He's now made to raise and watch these kids who are about to go down the exact same path as he did with nothing he can do to stop it besides trying to save his cousin Gabi from suffering the way he did at the cost of another kid Falco who he obviously sees himself in. No one in Marley understands him or has any idea what happened on the island, he has to lie straight faced to his family about the "devils" he met there since if he doesn't it could get them all killed. The only time he looks even remotely happy is the little smiles/smirks he has when he thinks back on his time on Paradis, like when Porco provokes him about he acted like some strong, reliable figure when he was there, to which Reiner just smiles and agrees with him, which throws Porco off entirely. And with his family where when they start talking about how awful and evil the devils on Paradis, Reiner has to physically cover his mouth with his hand to hide his smile at how absurd and wrong what they're saying. After all even though his mind was splitting between two realities, and he was faced with the burden of saving the entire human race and leading the warriors, those years he spent with the 104th in training were without a doubt the best of his life. And that is so unbelievably sad. Done with this long rant. Just wanted to word vomit this since I see a lot of people condense Reiner's depression to just a couple key points when there's far more layers, and negative things that have all piled on him throughout his entire life, all building up to the tragic crescendo we see in this episode with him an inch a way from blowing his brains out. The only thing stopping him being the realization that he still has a duty to watch over those kids in the 2 years he has left.
So glad to see someone truly analyze the depth of Reiner’s fucked up life. It’s tragic, and the fact that he wanted to shoot himself displays how close he was to ending it all despite knowing it would fuck his nation over. It’s truly heartbreaking. I love his character
8:16 for those who haven't caught on this small detail, this scene is when Armin first shows Eren his forbidden book and shows him what the outside world looks like (the sea, the desert, etc). This scene is crucial since this is when Eren started to realize that he wasn't free and thus his desire to go outside of the walls began.
There are lyrics to Apple Seed, the song that plays before Bertoldt blows up in Shinganshina in 3x15. One of the verses goes like this: Apples drop beside the tree Old man please, remember me and All of us still chase our dream Underneath the canopy
The way you discussed Reiner's suicide "attempt" was really great. You acknowledged the pain he is going through while also dismissing suicide as an answer. I don't think you could have worded it better. Bravo.
4. TITAN POSSESIONS When the commander asked why the children are the ones to be sent to the island and not adult. My theory i guess why they have 6 titans that is ready to passed is because i guessed the 8 past holders are ready to go the Island and get the founding to have all the powers (+eren kruger- attack titan & warhammer from tybur fam.) And the reason the plan ddn't push through is because the Attack Titan betray and do his own thing. Eren Kruger realized that when Marley got hold of all Titan this hell won't be over. I GUESS So they have 6 titans ready to be passed on: Beast, Cart, Jaw, Armor, Colossal & Female And the War H got passed to a new eldian in the Tybur Fam.
@@jbsuselessopinion843 It's been explained that Marley got to take on 7 of the 9 titans in the Great Titan War. King Fritz took only so many people to the island and built a "paradise" erecting the walls and leaving everyone else behind. Since that none of the two sides got their hands on the Attack Titan until of course Eren Jaeger.
Appreciate that you notice details of last episode like how Reiner helped Galliard in the meeting, not many reactors can catch that. and i have to say, many scenes from manga were not shown. The story was like compressed into this 2x mins. so every scene, every flashback, every line has their meaning, and may mean more than you think.
The contrast between the despairing voice of Reiner and the commando, powerful beast that is the armoured titan was done incredibly. It is the opposite of what we thought when we first saw him destroy the gate.
You literally didn't miss a beat in this episode. This is the ultimate way it's supposed the be taken, otherwise u just don't get the full experienc imo. And what's more, it's so satisfying to watch your reaction when you notice every little detail so well.

Honestly this is my favorite episode of season 4. Its probably up there for one of my top AOT episodes of all time. When I saw the scene where the old guy gave Reiner and Bertholdt the origin story they stole, I got chills and I immediately went and rewatched that episode from season 1 to compare.
You're actually one of the few reactors i've seen who realized that Grice from season 3 part 2 is related to Falco and Colt Grice! Nice job catching that! Also I loved your Toradora reactions and I really enjoy your analyses of AOT. Keep pausing if you need to!
I love your reaction videos so much! You're doing an amazing job truly with your analysis on everything! I loved how you noticed Reiner protecting Porco during their meeting last episode, not many people would. Please keep it up!
the way we went from a pretty straightforward “we’re saving humanity we want freedom” concept to this seemingly endless tug of war between marlyeans and eldians and eldians with themselves depending on where they live on top of all the other social themes being explored is mind blowing. reiner has always called paradis eldians devils while he is partially eldian himself because of the way he was raised and the way his world functions. his mother is eldian. eren has loathed titans ever since the invasion of the walls which led to his mother’s passing yet he uses the strength of one of the nine titans to accomplish his goals, and titans are just eldians that have been transformed. he himself is an eldian. as were both of his parents. this series is incredible, really. also seeing eren in this episode has me so hype for the next one
you helped me noticed so many things from last episode that i completely missed lol thank you. you also caught a lot this episode that i didn't notice initially so that was dope too. another quality reaction sir
I would like to point out a trasnlation error/difference in episode 2. when they have the meeting and Porco asks "wheres the brass" Zeke actually sayd in the manga "*They* Are not in this room" which is way less suspiscious then just saying "not in this room", because hes just saying they aren't here instead of saying dont talk about that in this room. But he's still signaling that they are 'there' just not in the room, rather listening in.
love your reactions and interpretations of aot, recognizing new things seeing for the second time with you noticing things that I didn't, just makes the overall experience greater
I heavily appreciate your input in the beginning! Reiner is such a tragic character and his backstory is so traumatizing. It does definitely feel like he's the main character right now. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was like "THE EPISODE IS ALREADY OVER" like this episode felt incredibly fast. It was really good but damn that cliffhanger! I'm so glad we finally got to see/hear Eren close up for the first time. I'm so hyped for the next episode.
I'm a bit disappointed MAPPA didn't include the farewell message of Reiner's mom at the port. I can only imagine the emotional trauma from her saying "i'm sure your father is praying for your success, too...", not knowing that Reiner already had a horrifying encounter with his dad. Reiner's facial expression as he responded with "yeah" deeply saddened me... the same panel also showed as flashback before Reiner tried to convinced Berthy and Annie to continue the mission, which shows how much those words affected Reiner. oh and the reason why they had to wait before making another BIG MOVE (like destroying another wall) is explained in the manga with the trio talking in a farm, but I understand MAPPA for excluding this because of potential spoiler for future arc (although IMO it doesn't spoil much because it has already been explained, at least in context that is, in the GRISHA flashback in S3)
@@kaopaochicken when i first read this part in the manga I really felt for him... such a young age to be torn with such adult ideation and trauma... Imagine having your one goal in life be shattered by just a few exchange of words. His father single handedly destroyed the purpose of his dream for a family reunion... What's worse, his mom doesn't know at the time so he kept going at it despite knowing that his father can never be in the picture... Which is why I think the farwell panel in manga was so important, sadly they didn't include it
Cut content tiiiiiiiiime!! So in the mango, and this was cut, they showed how Annie used her shout to lure titans towards the wall before they destroyed it. Also Bert and Reiner were riding on Annie. They ran so far that Annie got tired (thats why she is resting when she wakes up), then Bert ransformed and THUS BEGINS EP1 OF SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN. :) Also this trio and the Paradis trio are in the same room when Annie wakes up.
Shouldn't be surprised, after all, Eren did train as a scout :D Although its so much cooler from the Marley point of view, they don't know but a Devil walks among them. Falco is sitting next to the most dangerous man in the world in their eyes.
I'm always so amazed when I think about how manga artists work: you dedicate years of yourself, whole ass parts of your identity as a story-teller and artist, into a single story. And that's your make-it-or-break-it moment. How in the fuck did Isayama write such a beautiful story?
My man I really liked your reaction and how you understand everything. Also Titan shifters can control their healing ability in a way. We saw this with reiner in season 2 ep 6.
It makes sense that Reiner wanted to end his life cuz he really thought he was gonna have to go back to that hell, he already had trauma and ptsd that was going to be his breaking point
One thing I feel like people also forgt in this moment, is that not only has he had his family issues, Marcel's death, etc. Reiner also currently thinks Bertolt and Annie are dead. The ONLY surviving returnee from the assault on Paradis was Reiner.
My explanation to why reiner deserved the beating Annie gave him; - Even after being responsable for Marcel getting eaten he berates annie every other day while training making coments about how she is not fit to be a warrior which backfires into her teaching Eren hand to hand combat btw - Annie has the hardest job inflitrating the inner walls and gathering info while reiner and berthold just chill and yet he is always making sarcastic comments about her performance. - He forces her to kill Marco even when it's his fault and berthold for talking carelesly and then tells her to get it over with after she gets traumatized by the act. And many other examples of reiner going out of his way to put in danger the mission or just annoy Annie or Berthold for no reason at all than his ego. Ppl shouldn't hate her because she did what was right, putting him in his place... Post-time skip shows his guilt, which is heartbreaking
1. CONCERNS For the stuff they cut, it really was moments that did not have to be there. Yes, they COULD have added n extra layer to feel more but even with the scenes they went, anime only fans will still get the story. BUT i'm a little sad on the built up on reiner's suicide attempt on that gun :((((( I wish there's more room to breath. I know those scenes are really important and needed to be there but it looks like someone put the playback speed to 1.5x or even 2x 😅 Still a great episode. (I didn't make this comment in Hope's of a video on it, just want to share something I love and entertainment for quarantine😀😀👏👏ok comment over)
Reiner initially just wanted to become a warrior so his dad and mom could live together and be proud of him. As honorary Marleyans that would theoretically be possible. His father rejects him tho so he clings on being a chosen warrior of Marley. Then Marcel tells him he was supposed to be the one thats not chosen, he just protected his brother so Reiner would get it. Reiner completely breaks down after that, he even tells Annie "Reiner is dead. If we need Marcel, I'll be Marcel". If you recall in the last episode, Porco Galliard told him that he acted just like Marcel in Ymir's memories. But after they break down the wall a second time and Marco dies, Reiner snaps again realising what he's done. Now to protect himself and to be able to live with his sins he develops the Soldier and Warrior persona split. After the time skip Reiner is just a broken man. He has to live with his sins without a soldier persona to protect him from it and he has to live with his PTSD, all his friends are either dead or gone so he attempts to end his life. And that's just where he's at now. I can't agree with anyone blindly hating Reiner. I pity this man so much. Has he done terrible things? Absolutely. Look where it got him. There is no "objectively good" or "objectively evil" character in this show. It's all grey which makes them human. And Reiner, the mass-murderer, might ironically be the most human of them all.
“Ironically the most human of them all” yes yes YES!!! I love the way you phrased that. He’s so fucked in the head because of his trauma and it really makes you feel for him. You explained this so clearly, thanks
I think they can chose wether to regenerate or not cause in season 2 Reiner had a bloody arm never steamed once then he took of his sling and regenerated it

We also get the first glimpse of the their realization that people inside the walls are not actually the devils. If I wasn't reading the manga, I'd probably think Reiner suicide attempt would be mostly because of his guilt towards Marcel death, but there's actually so much more of that. But frankly, I'm not bothered at all by this cut, sure it could've made things a little more compelling, but even without it, it doesn't mess with the overall story.

Thank you so much for explaining

@Chocolate milk is the best yeah, and ppl still defend it like I don't think they've read the manga before. But tbh, I'm glad for them tho. Cuz they won't feel any pain watching this show. @@起.承.転.結 in all honesty I’m just glad there not trying to pack 12+ chapters in 1 episode like how Tokyo ghoul re: was and I think God of High school
Ohh makes sense! Thanks for this
Actually, Annie and Reiner switched places between the run towards Wall Maria.
Eren actually can control when he can heal his leg, like how Reiner doesn't immediately heal when his arm was bitten by a titan in season 2.

The guy never saved his 3 kids. He left them behind to save himself and he probably killed himself out of guilt. And that's when Lainah start asking WHY would devils do that. (Having guilt or those things that he think they wouldn't do)
The story of that man that they met who hung himself is the story that Lainah and Betrhrlhodtt told Eren and Armin way back in S1 when they are talking in their beds at night. They took that incident and his story so that there's no loose end.

3. REINER
It's important to note that while Lainah did grow up fast but the leadership part is imitated, I'ts not his own way of leading but what he see and what he think Marcel will do. Galliard (Marcel's brother) in the last episode ask Reiner how he was acting in Ymir's memories and insinuated that he was pretending to be a "reliable guy." Lainah lacks a strong sense of identity, he does what he told eren to do, "He is whatever he needs to be"
To be a soldier for marley
To be a leader for his group
To be a warrior for his mission
It all started when annie said that he was not good enough.

I was thinking the same thing
You can't help but feel bad for Reiner and the others with what they have gone through until now even though it doesn't excuse them for the actions that they did. "villain's/criminals are the products of society and the experiences that they have had".
yeah wait till eren show them how their mission should have been done XD
Exactly. They all have so much depth and reasoning for what they’ve done, it’s crazy. I love the perspectives so much
It's funny when falco was speaking he was blabbering until eren spoke he got shocked I was waiting for that😂
Right 😂
it's a relief seeing how an anime-only not complain about the writing and didnt get confused of whats happening in this ep.. because they cut soooooo many parts and details from the manga.
That's the best analysis of Reiner's character so far, good job
8:16 for those who haven't caught on this small detail, this scene is when Armin first shows Eren his forbidden book and shows him what the outside world looks like (the sea, the desert, etc). This scene is crucial since this is when Eren started to realize that he wasn't free and thus his desire to go outside of the walls began.
Aghh this anime is so brilliant!
There are lyrics to Apple Seed, the song that plays before Bertoldt blows up in Shinganshina in 3x15. One of the verses goes like this:
Apples drop beside the tree
Old man please, remember me and
All of us still chase our dream
Underneath the canopy
The way you discussed Reiner's suicide "attempt" was really great. You acknowledged the pain he is going through while also dismissing suicide as an answer. I don't think you could have worded it better. Bravo.
4. TITAN POSSESIONS
When the commander asked why the children are the ones to be sent to the island and not adult.
I GUESS
So they have 6 titans ready to be passed on:
Beast, Cart, Jaw, Armor, Colossal & Female
And the War H got passed to a new eldian in the Tybur Fam.
The Attack Titan has always "fought for freedom". It has never been under Marley possession.
Eren Krueger didn't have an armband meaning he was pretending not to be Eldian so his titan wasn't under Marley's control.
@@4Yfaz welp maybe that one too. I was really not sure. Maybe they have the 7 and eren k got the attack and paradis has the coordinate
22:36 And like Riza Hawkeye said about war in FMAB:
"-War does not determine who is right - only who is left"
The contrast between the despairing voice of Reiner and the commando, powerful beast that is the armoured titan was done incredibly. It is the opposite of what we thought when we first saw him destroy the gate.
It was crazy to see what was going through Reiners mind when he destroyed the wall. I love it

the way we went from a pretty straightforward “we’re saving humanity we want freedom” concept to this seemingly endless tug of war between marlyeans and eldians and eldians with themselves depending on where they live on top of all the other social themes being explored is mind blowing. reiner has always called paradis eldians devils while he is partially eldian himself because of the way he was raised and the way his world functions. his mother is eldian. eren has loathed titans ever since the invasion of the walls which led to his mother’s passing yet he uses the strength of one of the nine titans to accomplish his goals, and titans are just eldians that have been transformed. he himself is an eldian. as were both of his parents. this series is incredible, really.

Minor detail but Marcel repeatedly saying "Sorry" to Reiner in different contexts made me feel things
I felt the same way. He kept apologizing because he knew he was acting selfishly
My explanation to why reiner deserved the beating Annie gave him;
- Even after being responsable for Marcel getting eaten he berates annie every other day while training making coments about how she is not fit to be a warrior which backfires into her teaching Eren hand to hand combat btw
- Annie has the hardest job inflitrating the inner walls and gathering info while reiner and berthold just chill and yet he is always making sarcastic comments about her performance.
Post-time skip shows his guilt, which is heartbreaking
yh this is so true lol
I just saw my adorable Zenitsu behind u and forget everything else 😂😂
You're gonna love the next episode, everyone's gonna love next episode :)
I cannot wait
1. CONCERNS
For the stuff they cut, it really was moments that did not have to be there. Yes, they COULD have added n extra layer to feel more but even with the scenes they went, anime only fans will still get the story. BUT i'm a little sad on the built up on reiner's suicide attempt on that gun :((((( I wish there's more room to breath. I know those scenes are really important and needed to be there but it looks like someone put the playback speed to 1.5x or even 2x 😅
Still a great episode. I'll be considerate this time and just gonna think AND HOPE that it is like this because they focus MORE on THE SCENES that are coming.
This episode was jumping to one scene after another.
Dude the scene in the manga where annie is running from the Titans is epic! Kinda disappointed they didn't show that part. Still a great episode!
@@Wills_instapage yeah
@@Wills_instapage YEAHHHH that was too :((( The suspense on Reiner&Bertholt while Dina was approaching.
Annie Titan Form getting Exhausted
Reiner getting ganged up by titans whole protecting the unconscious Annie
THERE'S SO MUCHH MORE :(((
If ever they will put this in any scenes in the future episode. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY :((( this is such an epic moment to be honest, i completely forgot
@@jbsuselessopinion843 OMG yes it would of build up the moment when Bertholt kicked the wall!! I really felt they missed a opportunity!
I won't give you any spoilers, but you're definitely right about one thing.
Isayama is a genius
He truly is
You know what ? Reiner is my favorite character since day one
Loyal huh
Porco means pig in portuguese, maybe that's why He told Pieck not to call him by that name in episode 61 lol
You keep calling Falco "Colt" - Colt is the older brother, Falco is the warrior candidate.
Dang it...I knew the voice would give it away!
Zeke and Pieck were assigned with other missions in the meantime, Zeke wasn't actually Marcel's replacement.
Each and every dialogue of Hobo is foreshadowing on another level.
You are my favorite person to watch live reactions bro! Keep up the good work! ^^
Hey Darius just Incase you see this. May I reccomend a manhwa called "the beginning after the end" give it ten chapters. If you like it I also recommend the unbridled hype of solo leveling.
(I didn't make this comment in Hope's of a video on it, just want to share something I love and entertainment for quarantine😀😀👏👏ok comment over)
Don't know what you're talking about, but your politeness is wholesome
@@nej6246 I'm trying to recommend some good manga type series I've been enjoying recently.
@@kaopaochicken You're welcome. Reiner is my favourite character by far in this show, he's just so very complex and interesting
@@johannesreus5154 It’s amazing how tragic the backstory of him is. He has such a fucked up life
Hello! I am Japanese! I'm glad to see your reaction from Attack on Titan! I will continue to support you 📣
16:30 that's not Colt, it's Falco, Colt is his older brother, the candidate for the Beast Titan Power.
I think they can chose wether to regenerate or not cause in season 2 Reiner had a bloody arm never steamed once then he took of his sling and regenerated it
keep pausing, discover more small detail and pouring your thoughts about it, love your reaction when you realize it all connects together and blew your mind.
Agreed
