Best coat I've ever owned for keeping out the weather, I camp in the woods, up in the Peak District too and take my dog out in this every day, had it for 18 months so far. Never been wet once in this and its seen enough hard downpours, plus its a tough little smock. Wouldn't hesitate in buying another when I need to.
Cheers for the good review. Are you able to simulate a rain test with this, to simulate hours of rain (even if soft rain) such as with a sprinkler at a certain distance? Years ago I purchased a country shooting style jacket (for the range of pockets and sinching capabilities) claiming to be waterproof, but it failed miserably to repel water at all when hiking. It simply wetted out, so I'm wary of this field of clothing even though on the search for a more classic style smock.

i have that smock and let me tell you taking it off when its rining wet is not elegant. great for keeping you dry horrible for taking it off and putting it on.
