Would absolutely love to see some workouts based on these videos! Thank you for always explaining the reason behind doing specific workouts, because as you said, context matters!
oh yes please make that happen !!!
Loved both the Crosby and McDavid videos. Couldn't really get enough. Thought your tutorials were fantastic. I am currently in the process of trying to put together some workouts for my 16 year old son and any workout advice you could put together from these two videos, and any others would be great. Thanks again.
If you notice also the big key with the head up at that 2 minute mark crossover he is calling out the numbers on the coaches hand. There is a lot to unpack on that.
Great video
Love the perspectives on the why's and how's. You might find the documentary about how McDavid and his specialized team innovated his own astonishing injury recovery a couple of years back. It's pretty cool, but Connor continually challenges and breaks all kinds of barriers.
this video is underrated, the knowledge within...
Nice video. Really like how you guys explain every excersise, why you should do them, and what they are good for. Keep up the good work.
Glad you like them!
A workout based on the video would be amazing!
I should use these to get in shape again. I'm older too it'll be great because low impact on joints. Awesome video
Amazing video! Even though I don´t play hockey (I play floorball) this video was really educative for me and I will definitely add some of these movements in my sessions. Thanks!
You can also do these types of drills between sets of weight training so you tired from the set then go do some skill work between sets
Great explanations on the science. Thanks!
Спасибо! Было очень интересно и познавательно 👍💪✌️
Aw man no CC available … can you turn it on? Thanks
Yeah especially for when mcdavid mumbles... I mean talks 5:05
Please do a mcdavid style workout
Thanx a lot for the video! It's awesome!
A training or workout video would be awesome!
This channel is so underrated
I’m in NORTHERN Ontario
And we just got a foot of snow last night. So I’m going to shoot pucks
Let's go!!
Thank you for the great video
Motivational video time thanks!
I would like a speed workout like you said
used this video to help improve my own workout 💪 thanks a ton
Happy to help!
McDavid is the only one with a shirt on because he doesn’t have an ego.
100% this. it's who he is at the core. he's his own worst critic and asks for more. no one like McDavid in today's game.
He’s also built like a 10yr old boy
Even tho I am a Goalie this video gave me so much inside for off ice training. I love it.
Fatigue Motor Control. Amazing.
While all this is great, how do kids with great talent for learning but are low income get that type of training. Hockey in Texas costs sooooo much. Coaches charge in excess of $80 an hour, some over $100 an hour. I know some is related to ice time. But some kids can't because they just don't have that kind of money. Off ice comes easy, but you have to get on the ice to practice the off ice.
You're right in that families with money to spend on ice time and coaches definitely have an advantage... but that hasn't stopped hundreds of NHLers over the years still make it.
There are plenty of things you can do off the ice (training, rollerblading, stickhandling, playing other sports) that will go a long way. And then from there try to get on the ice whenever you can (some cities have "stick and puck" which is cheap ice to go practice your skills).
Finally !!!! I found this video where a guy KNOWS what he is talking about concerning Connor McDavid and and, analyzing techniques, training and progress. All these other yahoos getting on youtube talking about Connor McDavid don't have a clue about hockey, and just want to jump on the bandwagon with the best skater in the league. Who cares what they say or think ? This guy knows his stuff and all the others could learn something if they watch and listen to him !! Absolutely loved your video !!!!
Recovery is the biggest factor to success.
If your body is consistently drained it will not perform at its best.
If you're playing high level hockey as a young person, you won't need much gym time during the season.
Just some fine tuning exercises and strength training.
Definitely make a workout with stuff from this video
12:30 “Reaching their potential is who they are, not something they’re doing”
Where can I find a weekly hockey work out for my 13 year old son. We Loved the video and learn a ton
If he's in-season you can find our program here: hockeytraining.com/inseason/
If he's off-season: hockeytraining.com/offseason/
Am new to CHTI and would like to see a speed video based on what we just watched and as you suggested
My motivation just came back
Do a workout pls
I would purchase a speed/core/shot power training workout program. I am a visual learner, so video clip would be my preference.
Hey Holly, we've got you covered... check out our workout programs: www.hockeytraining.com/programs/
Great video coach. I struggle with wrist mobility on front squats. Can you recommend or link good wrist straps?
Honestly, most of them are the same so the only difference is which brand you want to support. I've used the Heavy Duty straps at Slingshot for years consistently going over 400lbs and they still do the job: markbellslingshot.com/collections/belts-straps-support/products/heavy-duty-lifting-straps
Good point on not going for the true 1RM. US swimmer (7 medals in Tokyo) Caleb Dressel said the same... no less than a set of 2. Dressel is super explosive and has an insane vertical.
I just found your channel. It is fantastic! Thank you for the feedback 🙂
Copenhagen plank also hits your shoulder hard core because all the stress on your shoulder your back your abs. It's an awesome exercise to hit back the groin the shoulder an abs
What can I do to fix my stride if it is too wide? My legs seem to extend more to the side then back
Dude awesome!! Can you make a work out! One at home and one in the gym
I recently started playing hockey again. Want to build my core and stabilize my ankles, hips, etc. Then work on building strength for more power
Yes please do a body weight only speed workout for under 14...
Flexibility. Flexibility = speed and speed = power
Not Quite. Speed is a product of force production. Athletes that can produce greater force, in theory will be capable of greater speeds, show me a fast athlete and Ill show you a strong athlete. Athletes need to develop adequate ability to produce force, this needs to come with attention to things like flexibility and mobility, but with proper coaching that should not be an issue. But athletes NEED to lift weights and lift heavy weights for a few reps. I know lots of insanely flexible people who are slow, and weak. You cant out smart physiology and physics.
Hi,
Do you guys have any tips for me how to recover from a COVID infection?
Greetings from germany!
Yes
I can listen to the the deep dive into the Kinesthetic talk. Only wish I could be a lot let lazy and be more serious about my beer league career.
Coach sells a training program for adult league players.
Yup you can find it here: www.hockeytraining.com/programs/
How do you call the technique used by Mcdavid while he's crossing over forward? Lyniard? I don't find anything on it.
Thanks in advance for correcting the name I probably got it wrong :)
Linear Crossovers
Speed workout
I’m a member please do!!!
I used to want to do these workout then I found that KB Swings , snatches and get ups cover it all off
No, they don't....
Let's go Crosby
Practicing your skills at a fatigue state is not a new training method at all , 1st time i was introduced to this method was in the 80s while boxing
Hey Guys, should I use my On Ice Stick also Off Ice (In normal Shoes)? Or better I buy the same Stick and cut him a bit more to reach the Same Base of Length?
Buy a similar stick and cut it down to the same place it would be at when you're on skates
I'm interested
Make more goalie videos
Make the workout
He didn’t break parallel
Absolutely zero athletes deadlift…facts. Snatch and clean only.
Where is a training full video cut instead of your bla bla
How can you be the best player when you’re terrible at faceoffs and defense. Also….zero playoff success
How can you be so insufferable
He’s the best offensive player. Not 200ft player.
You obviously dont realize how the nhl works. You think 1 player can win? LMAO. And hes at 53% in faceoffs this year but go off. I can obviously tell you dont watch hockey
