  • Legendary US rock band Jane's Addiction live at Trinity College Dublin as part of the Trinity Summer Series. Excepts from classic albums like Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual. The band started the new Los Angeles music scene in the late 1980s along others like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Pixies and Rage Against the Machine. Bridging the gap between metal, grunge and alternative rock that would define the '90s, Jane's Addiction brought a new brand of rock music, influenced by punk, hard rock, and psychedelia. Truly original, unsung heroes.

I have loved Jane's Addiction since the beginning. Yes I'm old but I know perfection when I hear and experience it. JA is better than ever! Perry is a musical genius! His voice is So unique and versatile. Dave's guitar sounds better than ever, sounds like there's 3 or 4 guitars on stage with him. Eric's bass adds so much more dark and creepy vibes than ever before! Last but definitely not least, Stephen's drumming is so spot on/technical and just brings the whole feel good vibes and experience together. JA is definitely firing on all cylinders and are really delivering the best concerts of their careers! Each concert is a journey together that I just don't experience with other bands and the fans!

Been banging on about this for years .
Sunshine really messes with the vibe .
Imagine watching a great old black and white movie with all the lights blaring / glaring at your Bad self .
Same reason I think night games are far more interesting , whatevers , for the casual / neutral going to their first ever footie match . The Stones had it in their contract , that they only come on after the sun was well down . Saw them as a wildly impressionable 15 year old ( still never recovered ) at Knebworth .
And it seemed 4 hours or so , after 10cc set , who were the last band before them ( they wete great - and I'd never even smoked a joint in my life , yet . Yet lol .
They didnt come on till way gone midnite , and it was just so evocative and mesmerising to my eyes , but the same effect could never be achieved on a desultory , dusty , Three O 'Clock in the afters .
Anyway , enough already . This is a really fantastic , all encompassing , cinematic experience by JanescAddiction .Now imagine them coming on at One i 'the morning
" Shadows of the morning sun "
      What a , WHAT A BAND !!!!!
Best power trio since about the 80sc. Trio plus singer , i mean .
Lots of bands have tried , or insisted in interviews , that they are influeced by The Power and The Glory that was the storied career of Led Zep ( 10 seconds silence please Alan Freeman after playing all of Prescence , Side One and , trumpets , Side Two on his Saturday 'Rock Show ' gosh , the term sounds archaic and quaint . I dont think ' Rock ' in those terms even exists anymore . What are the greatest rock bands / albums ( albums ...Lol . Go back to yr rocking chair Grandad !!
But I was once young , just like you now .
Yeah , jog on off on yr two walking sticks . Sorry no offence .
Of course not , now do any of you
Ever heard of a band called Rush ?
      By any chance ?
No , well the really fascinating thing , you see about Rush and the sweet spot of Prog is ...uh ..Hello ?
I say where the bally blazes have they gone .
They seemed to vanish as t'was thin air .
      Alright , then .
I shall have to pick up my bed
And walk while I sip the thin gruel of Sheeren and the ennui ( wrong sort of ennui ) and the deathless prose of Drake . So glad I don't have to listen to anything before 2005 . I've written affirmations on shaving mirror in the bathroom and on the ever buzzing fridge
I must( under penalty of being ostracized from your entire community ) I absolutely become a die hard Swifty , and be prepared to come to blows with any one who remotely diss her .
Shes also ( or her people . God I bet they are just So, so , sooooo bitchin ' or slammin ' ..or uh ...I'm just 63 , nearly ) yeah , she kind of reached with a beautiful and very thoughtful AI note . Shes gone thru pure hell ( Diddy ) Saddest , most gut wrenching , love break ups .
Doesn't matter how rich or famous she is , all good Swiftys learn at their soccer moms breast , that Taylor would drop it all in a pussy cats heart beat to experience ( if only for one night ) the Power of Love . Entire vast , vast , really vast
Stadia from Buenos Aries to Brussels to Uzbekistan ti Ulster .
With all that unbounded love we could move mountains
      Lets think it
Then let us say / roar it
      1,2,3 - Gooooo !
      We . Are . Stopping . Poverty . And . Human . Loneliness . Tonite . FOREVER .
Bye from a particularly Great Britain .
Darent read this back . Think I've gone way off topic . Cant even remember what I'm replying to (!) .
Also if I try to read back , I must knock the discard sign .
Pity you didnt - say the rather catty readers who number into triple figures .
      Good luck to you all
      Keep on a Rockin '
      In the real
Or ..uh ..Keep on Gen Z- ing ?
      No ?
Keep on Griming and a House Music - ing ?
No ? Oh well please yr selves .
      😂😂😂😂❤❤🎉❤😂

Sun doesn't set till an ass crack before 10pm, and stays light for another hour after that. This is what happens when people live at 53 degrees north, or south, or even further north or south.... those Nordic folks are well used to going to and coming home from festivals with the sun still going.

So very happy to see Dave back with the band. There was no way I would ever go see them again without him. I hope these four have truly buried the hatchet and keep making music before Perry's voice goes the way of Paul Stanley's.

Buried the hatchet? What? I thought Dave had long-term covid? Are you saying that wasn't real?

@@SonicVisionX Buried the hatchet with Eric Avery who has been in and out of the band many times. Dave had long term Covid but he is better now. He hasn't stated in any interviews that I read how he overcame it or if it went away on its own.

Well a very just got Perry in a headlock onstage this weekend after he snapped and punched him in the gut a couple of times 😂 I’d say that’s a wrap!

@@ARyan-nf5my Yeah, its a sad situation. Etty tried to clear it up in her statement the day after. The band should be using in ear monitors so that everyone had their own volume on stage. Perry was drinking every night and feeling frustrated with how loud the band was playing. He couldn't contain his anger any longer from not being able to hear himself and lashed out at Dave and then Eric lashed out at Perry. It stinks, I was hoping that they would ad a Philadelphia date. I am a huge Love and Rockets fan too. Now no one knows if the band will ever play again or release the new music that they were working on.

@@matthewgierula5674 seems like that band is done, it got nasty. Then Avery drags him off in a headlock with a few digs to the ribs 😅 cancelled the tour now they won’t be resuming. A rock n roll end to it all but I’d feel bad for em ultimately falling out after 40 odd yr?! Only thing that can salvage that is whatever album project, we’ll see…
