- The Mid Island Competition Pipe Band competes and entertains at the Campbell River Highland Gathering. They even won the Grade 4 Band competitions! Don is of course a member of this Band, wearing the blue & purple RCAF tartan. Check it out. The playing was amazing!
Woww, that's a lot of work there! Great weather, tunes and an Air Force tartan proudly worn. Thanks for sharing and if I may say so congrats.
Thanks Bill, and yes, you may! It was quite a bit of work, since practicing for this Band's tunes was in addition to the other Band(s) that many of us belong in. I am quite please with the tuning (although I cannot and will not take credit for it - we have some great pipers in this Band who did it) and that there were not many note errors in the renditions. Sure, they weren't perfect, but it was a considerable improvement over what we did in Victoria almost three months ago. Cheers!
Sounds awesome! Congratulations on the win! 💥❤
Thanks Mary! We had a great day, with lots of playing and the occasional refreshment (or two, or three). Sorry I can't make the RCAF P&D reunion in a couple of months. Have a great time!
That takes a lot of talent to work that closely with each other. I always heard the bag pipes are one of the hardest instruments to learn. Awesome job Mr. D. Hugs to Miss Carolyn. 🤗🤗
Thanks! We did much better at this competition than we did in May. We also got to show off a bit at Celts have Talent - a local spin-off of America's Got Talent. Now, back to quilting!
