Knowledge that is Fardh-kifaaya (collective duty) needs to balanced in our communities. If we have more doctors and engineers for us to sustain in our medical and engineering needs but it is quite impossible to find a certified/qualified family councelors, religious teachers, Imams, community leaders, educators, etc. than the we will all be accountable for not trying to fulfill those needs.
I am sorry to say this but being an engineer myself with a family of 4 - this is a reality I have to face everyday but I pray that Allah helps us and help those who are trying to persue those fields of study.

MYA Productions the thing is with the mentality of the sheikh, it would means people shouldn't bother becoming a doctor because theres 'enough' but that will make a shortage in the future. I believe in these cases we can take loans with interest because the main sinner are the big capitalists who charge the interest

Ibne sina and others did not become father of medical by borrowing money from others. They became with help of Allah and their won dedication. Please don’t get sheik wrong or mis understand him . Put this that way you don’t want to jump on fire to get 40 years of career.would you???

Farhan Ali Allah swt said whoever is involved in interest not who gives it out is sinful stop blaming other people for your sins this is exactly what shaytan will do on judgement day and tell us that you didn’t have to listen to me or follow me so don’t blame me for what you did wake up

parucleo So you are telling me that we have enough doctors and engineers? Are you taking this from a global basis? Take a hike

I remember i really wanted to be a doctor a while ago and couldnt think of myself doing anything else but right now for some reason I lost the passion. I think we just have to trust Allah and if we give up something for his sake, he will give us something better. Student loans arent worth it if they have riba. There might be no barakah from that degree. Allah will find a way out for you, be strong and try to find a job and maybe do a technical school. It may take a little longer but its not impossible.

Are subsidized student loans halal? I don't have to pay the interest on it until I graduate. And I am confident I can pay back the money by then.

Bilal Mohammad no he is saying we have enough to the point where if you didn’t become an engineer or doctor than it wouldn’t hurt anyone but he’s also saying if you can become a doctor or engineer without using usury than do it if you wish

Nike Check So if everyone have the same mindset as this guy we would basically have a shortage of doctors and engineers. It’s not like we already have that. That’s why it’s easy to find a job when you have studied these because there is a need of them
