The contrast between their glamorous on-screen personas and their wild, sometimes shocking real-life stories is truly captivating. From Errol Flynn’s notorious antics to the tragic tales of stars like Olive Thomas, it’s amazing how these legends lived lives that were as dramatic as their films. It’s a reminder that even icons had their flaws, mysteries, and humanity. Such an intriguing look into the hidden history of Hollywood-thank you for sharing!
As far as being clean or dirty, both can be true. Bouts of depression can cause folks to give up on self-maintenance. It is a sign to look for in people that suffer from depression, that they are not doing well.
I once read that 90% of all silent films have been lost due to the film stock being a nitrate mixture that deteriorates over time or worse bursts into flame when exposed to air. When you realize that Hollywood was making dozens of short and full length movies every WEEK the amount of lost film is huge! Film stock improved during the 1930s but was still brittle and short lived if it wasn't stored properly. Most of the famous movie stars were just plain people with good looks and mediocre ability on contract to receive a weekly salary and thus condemned to making lousy movies at the whim of the studios. It's no wonder so many acted nutty!
A man was once making a documentary of the films of Buster Keaton. He and Keaton were working with Keaton's old films on nitrate stock and Keaton kept lighting up cigarettes. He had to be told to go outside to smoke least he set the films on fire.
All the young women of the silent and golden age eras of Hollywood leveraged sex or were sexually exploited during their careers. All of them. Sure there were one or two exceptions, actresses that came from wealthy families and such, but the overwhelming majority wouldn't have gotten roles without sleeping with studio executives and such. Not that they weren't talented enough, the Hollywood system simply didn't award roles to young actresses otherwise. As for Clara Bow, look her up. Clara did whatever she had to in order to become famous. She became one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, if I recall she was one of the founders of United Artists. Very smart lady, but also living in a world where the taboo was probably the only thing that excited her. Elites are like that.
I think maybe Marilyn Monroe had autism. I love Donnie douglas so much that she is a sprit guide now. She played roles where she was an outsider or autistic long before autism was a thing. Her life mimicks mine, even though she wasnt autistic as far as i know.
I find it surprising that Marilyn was that way. If she was on medications it can account for body odor and apathy toward hygiene. Whereas we are led to believe that Joan Crawford was a clean freak about everything.
Have you ever read the comments on a political site? I did a few times, and if you want to lose respect for the entire human race, you also do it also.

Love this, there’s got to be books to read on more of these sensational stories

"May he without sin may cast the first stone."
The Scotty Bowers book will curl your hair
Great book. There's a documentary based on the book that is very eye opening.

LOL I knew Charles Laughton would be on a list likethis
Laughton was no secret but he had the support that protected him. Not so with Lionel Atwill.
I wonder about him ànd Scatman Cruthers
Focusing on rumors detracts from the true legacy of these stars. Hollywood's Golden Age deserves to be remembered for its films, not scandals.
"as shocking and juicy" 😂
I wonder if Charles Laughton did adult films. "Charley Does Dallas."
So we have Stinky Monroe, shitty Laughton, Leggy Grable, Strippy Bankhead, Bow wow Bow, pissy Flynn, not exactly world shaking news.
😂

I kept watching expecting some surprises but it was pretty much old news
Yeah, nothing new here
You don't have to spend $1 million to get a $1 m insurance policy.
The revelations that come out about todays stars can be just as shocking !
I just got more shocked with every story.😂

Marilyn was classic Asperger's
The golden age is dark!
So basically like a whole lot of middle America.

Joan Crawford Crossing swords
What!
why is this garbage history allowed on youtube?
Because just like the gutter press, scandal sells!
