Thanks! Being from outside Chicage; I now am very much over all Chicago pizza! What I really go for now is the bar-tavern style, extra thin-extra crispy!
Outstanding as always CPF and shame on Lou Malnati's. Apparently the family's vow that, "nothing will change" when they sold the chain to a hedge fund back in 2021 for $500M no longer holds true. I've had both deep dish & thin crust from that location in the past and it was good. The deep dish you received was disappointing to say the least. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Yeah their carryout locations aren't nearly as good as the sit downs, but the sit down in downtown Naperville isn't nearly as good as other locations for whatever reason
I go to the one on Jefferson in Naperville for the deep dish and it's always been great. I have probably ate at five different locations and I like the Naperville on Jefferson the best.
Thanks for the insight... Haven't been back home in years ... Saved me a potential mistake in October when I'm in town as some friends were talking about this place locally...
Oh no, I wanted to show and try this pizza on the video. This was the second one I have had from there like this so it's consistent. Thank you for the shirt compliment, ironic I started singing Dio wearing it HAHA
Try Burts in Morton Grove yes its deep dish but its soooo good you have to make a reservation a day ahead ...the owner shops daily for fresh ingrediants his pans are old and well seasoned I am not a fan of tourist deep dish either but this is well worth trying
The original couple of nancys was the real deal . Some of the best pizza back in the 70s , when i was growing up. So was father and son, mama lunas, rosieangelas, skyway, pats, dinos, casa lunas,
Thank you for another great review, but I have to disagree with you on this one. Lou Malnati's thin crust is mediocre at best, but their deep dish is awesome (in my humble option) at least where I order it from. I grew up on the north side, Milwaukee and Devon, several blocks away from Super Dawg (70's and 80's), and I ate Niles Pizza and :La Cantina (both on Milwaukee Ave). Chicago "tourist" pizza is awesome (usually), it just happens it's good and people like like it, so we group it as junk. And on my god. Aurelios is the BEST (at least the one is Addison). Their sweet sauce is awesome. Keep up the great reviews!
This video popped up across my Roku on UA-cam.. I didn't even know that was there.. I'm at HPB all the time an literally live 10min from there.. now I gotta check it out.. anyway.. I do reviews as well.. so I'll add this to my list.. thanks !! "A mixed bagodonuts"
Are you in Naperville? Who has good deep dish out here? I love deep dish a few times a year, but so many places don't make a good one. And Malnati's crust isn't good for thin crust, but I love it for deep. Too bad their other ingredients don't taste like they used to
It's possible that they could using frozen pizza dough and not freshly made dough that could be the reason for that frozen pizza crust taste which raise alot of concerns
wow, your daughters looked so excited when seeing that pizza. The Fox Point, Wisconsin location doesn't server pizza with a metric ton of grease. 70.00 for two pizza is high way robbery. You got ripped off. If you want really good mom and pop pizza got to Lisa's in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not sure any pizza could top their.
@Gityourmindright the one time I had Balistreri’s I was not overly impressed. Lisa's sause and toppings tasted a lot better. The other restaurant I had never heard of.
Is the name a play on words? Illuminati Yeah, pizza should never be wet! I always order pizza with xtra sauce, but I don't want any viscus fluid dripping off it.
@@whitesoxtom2657 no there is like 4 at least . And one just opened in elk Grove village by Kmart . It's just not a good Chicago pizza to me. I mean it's not bad but ok at best.
stick with a good run pappa johns or marcos franchise. those thick crust pans are fried in lots of oil and the chicago deepdish are cooked a long time with uncooked meat.
@chicagolandpizzafamily3684 wow that's alot of dough! Here in central Ohio I can get 2 large quality pies for less than $50 and I mean really good pizzas !
Lou Malnati’s opened by me down here. They made a big deal about it with a grand opening. Walked in one day, bunch of kids in the back no one at the counter. Service was crap, pizza was bland. Giordano’s is better
I question why you review a place that you had previously given a bad review. It’s simply a duplicate review. To be fair, you should revisit all previously reviewed spots to see if they are still good.

Try Suparossa

Thank you, I totally forgot they sold, making a lot of sense now
Depends where you go. Lous on Schaumburg is good
I first had lou malnatis around 1988. I wasnt a fan of the deep dish style. I prefer chicago tavern style thin crust. Cut in squares.
@@TurkeyTaco_Meat it's still a good tasting pizza when you want a change from the thin crust
It’s the same sadly for Portillo’s, Dick Portillo sold for $1.1 billion.
You have to try a deep dish at the OG location in Lincolnwood. The carryout stores don't make 🍕🍕 with the most important ingredient...❤
@tc4007 that's what so many people are saying

Should have taken it back. The quality of food from restaurants has definitely gone down hill in the last couple of years . Love the Ozzy shirt!

Nice SHIRT ! WAY TO HANDLE UP 😅😊😂 PIZZA LOOKS GOOD❤
I would definitely get along with this guy. His taste in music (Ozzy, Dio) and pizza are impeccable.
Thank you!
Very descriptive review! Love this! Nice work! 🍕🍕🍕
Rosarti’s has the bomb thin crust
lovely and foodie family keep it up
My aunt prefers their thin crust.
Maybe if you get onions and mushrooms, they'll make it fresh 😜
LOLOL, nahhhhhhhhhh. The thin was for sure made fresh bc it was a special order, that deep dish, no way
The pizza looks incredible!! I've never had Malnati's, I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks for sharing

What is the best deep dish and also regualr pizza in chicago?? i am going to a baseball card show in a few months and nned to know these things!!!
@@silverstacker644 I say Suparossa in Harwood Heights deep dish, thin crust Geo's at Harlem and Diversey

You got Pizza Soup?
Seriously! Even years ago when I still wasn't a fan, the deep dish at least looked good, this is disgusting.
We do Barro's. Reasonably priced for pizza that's above the 'lower priced' chains. And always consistent in quality.
Agreee im from Brooklyn, visited and it was fun but good. I like that mom and pop neighborhood place.

Ah yes tavern style my favorite, uncle Pete's on Washington was my favorite pizza in Naperville I miss Chicago, Tampa is home now
Ya i don't do camercial pizza . Me i look for the small mom and pop places or i ask a bunch of the italians in the comunity .
Hardcore judging, love it.
Fox's in Oak Lawn or Orland Park good thin crust. Fasano's in Justice also good

The Oak Brook location is really good.
Try either Nick n vitos up by Midway Airport n Fasanos in justice 2 best places in Illinois
we did Vito and Nicks, great place
Nicks is good but overrated
In Lou Malnati's defense, the grease is mostly from the cheese and meat
Sorry but there is no defense from that
Always with peperoni always greasy
Wow lous has gone down in quality
Please do Palermo’s on 95th in Oak Lawn please.
Very high on our list to do
Subscribed. Can you please review the deep dish at Labriola?
You should try mugs pizza in Schaumburg and other locations best pizza i had in forever

Water-y=Frozen! Errrday

That was a frozen version of that deep dish for sure.
Great video but the pizza looks undercooked
Sadly, this is the norm from what I got at this location
Vastly undercooked and fairly cheap in quality products. A shame when it happens.
