The FR is truly remarkable. The peak of the bass department is slightly lower than the peak of pinna gain around 3k, which will bring vocals and the affected instruments that reside in this region more forward and also at the same time impart more energy to s4. It will sound more like an audiophile tuning, which is usually considered a slightly bright tilted tuning. It doesn't also have a typical Harman dip during the transition from the bass to lower mids, so might sound less lean and coherent. It has a significant down sloping curve around a 5-6k, which will greatly prevent the potential sibilance. Amplitude at 8k is spot on that isn't above the ear gain peak part and therefore will lend enough sparkle and clarity boost but minimized sibilance due to relatively lower peak than 3k. Sufficient upper treble boost around 12-15k will impart great air and openness to s4. It is also worth noting that since most ppl don't hear anything past 17k, the roll off past 16k is a very smart move. Imo, s4 will be a great IEM if it would have corresponding technicalities to back up its great tuning.
@Gizaudio Ooh, curious and excited to see if the upcoming new SA6 would join the same league of these smooth neutral w/ bass boost sets with details and air. Seems as the $500+ sets are following this trend though I believe should never be grainy at this level.
@@letsmobiles3396 my absolutely favorite tuned IEM. Just the right amount of upper range for great detail without being overwhelming and enough bass to be satisfying without making the mids muddy.

I own a Monarch Mk2 and I love it lol, but if I could sell and get something literally just as good for half the price I would possibly consider
If you graph the Studio4 and the Yuan Li together you will find the bass and the mids pretty similar and that the Studio4 probably handles the treble much better. I wish I could have had the chance to listen to them for comparison but the price may be a bit too much these days for a guy in a more budget friendly group.
