Having recently watched it no, just totally obsessed with NWO, but for anyone who hasn't seen it the Eddie versus Rey Mysterio match is really good, you should really watch that if you can
I was at this event in Charlotte. I remember when the show ended and everyone was leaving to the exits, the glass breaks and Stone Cold came out to salute the crowd. Everyone came running back into the arena to see him
This is crazy as this was the first ever Episode of Wrestling I had ever watched, Aged 9 years old, sat on my Grandma's sofa! I remember hearing all the fuss of this WWF wrestling when I was in school and I decided to give it a watch. Instantly hooked!
i can vaguely remember watching this episode on thursday on UPN being in the 4th grade and literally talking about how cool it was that stone cold blew up the DX express. my god. the memories.
You know what I don't like about triple h is that not all his matches were great and he works at a slow pace which I don't like sometimes he's top ten but not top 5 of all time in the attitude era. But in the ruthless aggression era he is top five because he got better during that era because he was the only star left from the attitude era to be honest
This video is just like that episode of smackdown. I'm at 12 minutes and keep expecting a down and it forces me to keep watching. Intentional? Doubtful. Brilliant? Absolutely.
My kids were watching something with David Arquette the other day, all I could think of was David Arquette as World Heavyweight Champion, that ruined my memory of him and his Hollywood career.
Oh man, I remember when Stone Cold blew up the DX bus. I never fully understood how he did it though. Was it some sort of dynamite he dropped onto the bus?
The storyline with DX Express bus exploding is part of the career mode in Smackdown 2 on the PS 1. The REAL question is WAS the DX Express the repurposed Lex Express.
Thank You very much for not censoring Benoit out of your video -it didnt glorify him, just stated the fact that he existed and was there-nice to see someone just acknowledging his existence
Backlash 2000 was I think the first ppv I ever watched and taped on channel 4 so this exact period is absolutely golden nostalgia for me being recapped in the pre match videos. The rock Vs triple H main event just felt so big time huge
In Your House: Canadian Stampede would be a really good shout I think. Essentially a one-match show, but oh boy the main event was killer. An idea for a bad one to review could be the Great American Bash from 2000. The match that always sticks out in my mind there is Sting vs. Vampiro in a Human Torch match, alternatively you could go with Bash at the Beach 2000 for the Hogan and Russo shenanigans.
id seen wrestling as a kid and growing up being a 1988 baby. this very episode though i remember was the day i started to care about what was gonna happen next.
Wrestlemania 18! Hogan v Rock, most ridiculous Stone Cold Stunner on Scott Hall and all the fun of the hardcore championship. Just a few highlights worth covering
I could listen to Simon talk about anything and he'll be entertaining! One of the best presenters on UA-cam!
Amen
Survivor Series 2002: First Elimination Chamber Match.
WWE Backlash 2000! Come on Simon, don't leave us hanging. Let us know how the story ends
I third that!
I fourth that
@@john-olivierlukama1548 I fifth that!
I 6th that hurry up Simon backlash 2000
I'd like to see the 1st episode of Monday Night TNA Impact get upped and downed. 1/4/2010 when they tried to compete with Raw
JR: Try...
Survivor Series 1990 please.
The most amazing debut of all time. The Gobbledy Gooker!
Plus the debut of some obscure deadman gimmick.
A dead man gimmick?! Surely that didnt have last long
I cannot remember the name of it. I think it was the Gravedigger or maybe The Mortician. Something like that...
John Naylor the bottom-stealer
Ups and downs of starrcade 1983
Back when each show had a unique stage set
To be fair, they still did before the pandemic
I miss the Smackdown Fist.Good Old Days!

Having recently watched it no, just totally obsessed with NWO, but for anyone who hasn't seen it the Eddie versus Rey Mysterio match is really good, you should really watch that if you can
@@richardwilcox2784 I'm arguing for it solely for Eddey and Rey. That DDT!

"You know the song if you were a fan of the Smackdown video game"
or Botchamania :)
Suggestion: Wrestlemania X
Suggestion: WrestleMania 22 - my first Wrestlemania when I got into wrestling and one of my personal favourites.
I honestly had forgotten Essa Rios was a thing. Not really a joke here, just that small relic of nostalgia had escaped my memory. 🤷🏻♂️
Wrestlemania XX Eddie Gurrero's First PPV Title Defense
This is crazy as this was the first ever Episode of Wrestling I had ever watched, Aged 9 years old, sat on my Grandma's sofa! I remember hearing all the fuss of this WWF wrestling when I was in school and I decided to give it a watch. Instantly hooked!
I like that Stone Cold was treated as some kind of poltergeist for 90% of Smackdown.
Yeah and ironically not the dead man they had on the show
"poltergeist"😂😂😂😂
i can vaguely remember watching this episode on thursday on UPN being in the 4th grade and literally talking about how cool it was that stone cold blew up the DX express. my god. the memories.
Malenko was ahead of his time. Same goes for a lot of the cruiserweights from WCW.
Suggestion: Simon does his first ups and downs!
Yes
Suggestion-Wcw greed 2001 -the last wcw ppv ever
Raw 1000 ( cm punk heel turn )
Man triple h's promos was awful in 2000 when he exaggerated the uhh lmao rock called him out on it in a promo
"I am The Game uhhhhh, for the next twenty minutes uhhhhh, I will be talking uhhhhh, and saying absolutely nothing uhhhhh"
Word lmao thank God in 2001 he stopped it
You know what I don't like about triple h is that not all his matches were great and he works at a slow pace which I don't like sometimes he's top ten but not top 5 of all time in the attitude era. But in the ruthless aggression era he is top five because he got better during that era because he was the only star left from the attitude era to be honest
And I can't say Chris Jericho was a star because they put him in the midcard after 2002
WCW Halloween Havoc 97
WCW Bash at the Beach 96
WCW Halloween Havoc 96
I will not rest until Simon does some 90’s WCW
Suggestion: first episode of WWE’s ECW
ive just had a mental breakdown and ups and downs has possibly saved my life.
thanks simon.
This video is just like that episode of smackdown. I'm at 12 minutes and keep expecting a down and it forces me to keep watching. Intentional? Doubtful. Brilliant? Absolutely.
Let's have the most Baywatch of all PPVs: Bash at the Beach '95...
Do Backlash 2000 now, so we can see how the stories end
For the next Retro Ups and Downs-Royal Rumble 1999,Wrestlemania 13,Unforgiven 2006 or Wrestlemania 20
Rumble 99 gets so much hate. It was first current wwe vhs I had at time and I watched the hell out of it. Massive soft spot for that one
My kids were watching something with David Arquette the other day, all I could think of was David Arquette as World Heavyweight Champion, that ruined my memory of him and his Hollywood career.
I almost choked on the apple I was eating when Simon said “do a crossword.”
Oh man, I remember when Stone Cold blew up the DX bus. I never fully understood how he did it though. Was it some sort of dynamite he dropped onto the bus?
They rigged it
Wcw greed 2001. It is a worse ppv than december to dismember, everyone vote it! Lets put Simon through watching another terrible event 😂😂
Happy b'day eddie
The Monday Night Nitro featuring Goldberg vs Hogan in the main event at the Georgia Dome.
No Way Out 2009. Edge loses the WWE title and wins the world title in the same night.
This comment aged perfectly that the recent video he did that got me going through some other retro videos
Retro ppv up and downs idea:
1.WWE hell in a cell 2009
2.WWE wrestlemania 30
3.The highest rating of wcw ever
4. WWE wrestlemania 19
The lowest rated RAW of the attitude era
Hey Simon. Please bring back retro ups and downs.
Wrestlemaina 18 drowning pool performance of triple h’s entrance amazing my favorite point in wrestling history
Loving all theUps and Downs! How about doing the highest rated/most buys for an NXT Takeover?
WCW Halloween Havoc 1999
Please do NWO Souled out it is absolutely hilariously bad.
How about doing the first Starrcade?
2008 SummerSlam I love edge vs taker in the hell in a cell match 😍

Vengeance 2005,
Triple H vs Batista, Hell in a Cell WHC match
Cena/Christian/Jericho WWE title
Angle vs HBK
Simon actually makes me laugh too much 😂😂
The invasion ppv the opening video package alone was a thing of beauty
i remember that ep of smackdown like it was yesterday, i was studying for my GCSE's at the time and it was a crazy time of my life. - good times
How about Fully Loaded 2000 Triple main event:
Undertaker vs Kurt Angle
Triple H vs Chris Jericho
The Rock vs Chris Benoit
One of my favorite ppv's.
There’s no such thing as a triple main event. There can be only one main event.
DID IT FOR THE ROCK
Suggestion: Wrestlemania 19
That image at 17:58 is gold
The storyline with DX Express bus exploding is part of the career mode in Smackdown 2 on the PS 1.
The REAL question is WAS the DX Express the repurposed Lex Express.
“Need a curve ball just toss a McMahon in there” hahaha so true
Thank You very much for not censoring Benoit out of your video -it didnt glorify him, just stated the fact that he existed and was there-nice to see someone just acknowledging his existence
Yes, the "My Time" HHH theme was the best theme
Bash at the Beach 1996
Ill never forget Hulk Hogan did a sound bite on Vince Russo when Garrett lay down for hogan to pin him .
The Big Boss Man is an underrated gem. I've always enjoyed him.
Backlash 2000 was I think the first ppv I ever watched and taped on channel 4 so this exact period is absolutely golden nostalgia for me being recapped in the pre match videos. The rock Vs triple H main event just felt so big time huge
2 words got me to check out wrestling, a name. Kurt Angle
I think the next retro ups and downs should be Royal Rumble 1998 please and thank you
Such an accurate description of the smack A down theme song
No fam, “My Time” is the best entrance theme of all time. Put some respeck on it.
This was so much better than the highest rated Raw. Bloody good episode of Smackadown.
What about One Night Stand 2006? That shit was great!
That Smackdown theme is hanging on B for the first bit, then move to F# for the second part! 😁
id seen wrestling as a kid and growing up being a 1988 baby. this very episode though i remember was the day i started to care about what was gonna happen next.
Please do RAW1000.
Where punk turns heel on rock.
That was one of the best Raw episodes ever.
I kinda want to see Retro Ups N Downs for WCW were David Arquette won the belt.
18:12 I have never heard anyone say the word "more" like that...its getting an up but also...
*NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT*
Wrestlemania 18! Hogan v Rock, most ridiculous Stone Cold Stunner on Scott Hall and all the fun of the hardcore championship. Just a few highlights worth covering
Repo Man!
Now that I have your attention: This Tuesday in Texas, please. The aforementioned masked man was there.
Now do the lowest rated Raw and Smackdown shows of all time.
That’s just the normal Ups and Downs, no?
@@andywesthead damn it!!! you beat me to it lol
Why that would only be episodes from a few months ago
Road doggs thrusts demoralise the opponent so when they take the move even though it’s pretty soft they are too sad/embarrassed to kick out! Science 🤓
Royal Rumble 1994... still my favourite ppv
Lowest rated Sunday Night Heat.
All of them
Lmao!
Good god lol that’d be as bad as a normal episode of raw today
The August 31, 1998 episode of WCW Nitro.
WWF INVASION 2001!! It'll have a ton of downs!! Lol
You should do WCPW True Legacy that'd be fun
MITB 2016, MITB 2016, MITB 2016, MITB 2016.... idk if you heard me BUT MITB 2016!!!!
Thank you and we love you Simon yah bald a$$hole
Summerslam 2000 the first ever TLC match and that fall from Shane O Mac
Lowest rated raw, oh! Wait you do that every week......
I really wanna see that new David Arquette film on his wrestling
Dean Malenko will always be one of the greatest, most underrated, technical wrestlers of all time.
