Truly the best episode yet. Alexis is a star interviewer, asking questions that come from his experiences to draw out the essence of 53, and all the other start ups. Loved it.
Best. Host. Ever. But seriously, the guys at paper were a lot more inspiring than I could have ever imagined. Passion for life. That would be how I'd describe them
17:40 - that part of the video on students is so damn true. Many students just care about getting into the top universities, having the name - instead of being creative and thinking outside of the box when it comes to their work.
Having come out of high school only a few yeas ago myself, I can definitely attest to this. The simple fact is that a college degree is now almost considered as necessary as a high school diploma and with schools basically at maximum capacity, the easiest thing to set students apart from one another is their grades. It also makes it the most attractive item to game, at the cost of both sleep and creativity. There was a great article that The Atlantic ran that talked about a lot of this too.
best episode yet to date. love this! love seeing the BTS & the creators really express and talk about their own product w their team without feeling like holding back on what's right or what's wrong to say. absolutely inspired.
Love this series! But why are they renting? why don't they buy an office building? also do most company's buy their office buildings? is it common to rent?
I couldn't imagine how you guys can stretch this episode and company for an entire episode let alone a great and inspirational one. To be honest they are such a young, small and limited company but I am even more inspired by this company. I hope they will come out with Adobe like products or how else are they going to grow and expand. I also loved how easy going and "un-rushed" they are I mean no offense they don't even have an android version, either way great episode, cool company.
i wanted to draw that last shot of one world trade center, I guess that means your mission was accomplished. I've been drawing my entire life but have always stuck to pen and pencil and charcoal, this video makes me want to start using color mediums again. I downloaded paper probably the first week it came out on my first gen. Ipad which has sense broke, this video makes me want to go buy another. Well done.
absolutely loved Paper for the short time I had an iPad; if I ever buy an iPad again Paper would surely be one of the reasons.....or just please make a version for windows 8 or android D:
Highly unlikely. Simply because the iPad is being talked about in the whole video and because they got interviewed by the verge. The Verge sides with apple every time. If they would've found out a PC (or even an Android tablet) in 53's office this video wouldn't have existed in the first place. But hey who knows... maybe in the future 53 will think about expanding...
19:57, is that because Politicians are still not embracing online social media as much as they should, or that there's just too much continuous noise online these days for them to matter?
Do any of the CEOs you interview not graduate from an Ivy League school and previously work for a top tech company in the world? Would be nice for a change.
Truly the best episode yet. Alexis is a star interviewer, asking questions that come from his experiences to draw out the essence of 53, and all the other start ups. Loved it.
Please please please don't stop making this series, I look forward every week to the next episode. Best one yet!
Best. Host. Ever. But seriously, the guys at paper were a lot more inspiring than I could have ever imagined. Passion for life. That would be how I'd describe them
One of the best episodes of the show, just behind ShapeWays. Keep going Small Empires!!!
This is the best episode yet of the series, this company is amazing.
I feel like I might be the only person that has recently re-watched these. They’re still super inspiring. I wish The Verge would bring Alexis back!
Best series ever to come to The Verge. I've loved almost every episode so far! These episodes make me feel like going out and doing something new.
17:40 - that part of the video on students is so damn true. Many students just care about getting into the top universities, having the name - instead of being creative and thinking outside of the box when it comes to their work.
This has got to be the best Small Empires yet. Maybe you should do an episode on The Verge?
