I agree. We're in the minority, I think, but I dislike pockets in dresses and skirts. I'd never put anything in them, as it would ruin the line. Also, they most definitely increase our hip dimensions. Well, in my opinion, at least. Have a good day
Hi Susan , love the last skirt , so beautiful and thought it really flattered you . I hate all the large X-Large sizing , it can be so confusing as it means different things on various websites . I also dislike pockets , I was a typical hour glass when I was young , now I’m a heavier hour glass sadly and have big hips , bum and thighs , pockets just add extra bulk where I don’t need it ☹️. Much love as always 🫶🏻💐
Hi Sue, sizing is always so hit and miss without brands complicating the issue even more. According to the website my measurements come between xl and xxl which just doesn't make sense! I wish I could say I was smaller when I was younger but alas I can't lol. Take care lovely 💖x
I like the style of the last skirt best on you it was more slimming than any of the others. Didn’t like the leopard print skirt I thought there was too much material all that fabric just adds bulk in my opinion. I liked the first skirt.
Morning Susan my favourite was the first suede skirt definitely next size down, l agree with you stick with normal sizing sizing xl, xxl is always difficult to gage for me and off putting 😊
Hi Sue, it was a beautiful colour but I think my favourite was the denim skirt as just so comfortable to wear. XL, XXL sizing always differs between brands and when I looked at the monsoon size guide I actually come in between both, yet the size of the clothing didn't seem to match up 😏. But at least im aware of the issue now and can make allowances next time 🤗 x
Hi Susan, I enjoyed your latest video as I've never bought anything from Monsoon although i have looked in the one near Bluewater shopping centre in Kent and seen then on QVC shopping. I think all the skirts had their plus and minus points and obviously knowing now that the sizing is a big hit and miss is helpful if I did buy something. As usual your personality shines through and makes us plus size ladies feel better trying new styles. ❤xxx
Hi Lynda, a lovely comment to read thank you ❤️. I didn't know QVC sold Monsoon, I used to be addicted to the channel but haven't switched it on for years. xx
@susanknight7091 I dip in and out of the shopping channels but I've never bought anything but I'm glad I found all you fabulous ladies on you tube as it's far more interesting. Xxx
My favourite on you was the flowered one; it skimmed beautifully over your mid-section without swamping your legs with too much fabric. I would absolutely try that skirt with a coloured t-shirt and your black moto jacket! That leopard print was a fright! Honestly, it looked cheap even on screen, the colourway was bland and then the twisted elastic 😳 Definitely not up to Monsoon quality, more like a cheap £7 Temu or Shein....
Liked the last skirt best. Not keen on the pockets on the skirts as they just seemed to stick out in the wrong place.Always end up stitching the elastic down on twisted elastic waist skirts.Must admit I would be tempted to wait for a monsoon sale as they were all.quite pricey x
Not sure about the skirts Susan but that’s more about me than the actual skirts although I didn’t find those styles were particularly flattering! I wore skirt to work for many years and always feel worky when I put one on lol. Loved the berry colour but not the pokey out pockets and I thought the first suede one was ok but only ok…….theres too much fabric in these styles except the last one which I liked…….narrow bias cut, or a tube style I find is much more flattering for us plus size shorties……IMO of course! You do you and I’ll do me! Hugs xx PS I love leopard skin with a biker jacket! 😊 oooooh ugh……twisted elastic! 😡
Hi Lorraine, the leopard skirt wasn't what I would expect from Monsoon 😏. I was just testing the water to see what skirt style may suit me, it seems not many lol xx
I dislike pockets in skirts and dresses. They widen the hip dimensions, in my personal opinion. I know most women seem to prefer them. I love the purple cord material, and colour, but big No to the weird pockets. They draw the eye. I have several leopard print skirts and dresses, but they are a darker print which I prefer. This one was Ok'ish, but shouldn't have twisted elastic at that price! (I wear my short leather jacket over skirts and dresses, and my longer one over my trousers.) I love the printed skirt on you, as it's beautiful and very flattering on you ❤️. The only one I'd keep. I'd definitely buy that skirt. I'm 5ft 4 and size18. The Monsoon prices seem ridiculous, for the quality of the clothes,
hello Maureen, it is so hard to get sizing right when ordering online. Annoys me so much that online shopping is really only option as most shops don't stock the larger sizes in store 😏 x
I have now got used to Monsoon sizing. I need the room up top as I have a bigger bust and Monsoon is not generous in that area. However they cut for generous hips and being menopausal I am now smaller in that area. I would go for a size 18 or 20 on the hips but XL or 22 on tops and dresses. I can vouch for the quality as their clothes wash beautifully and get lots of compliments.. I wouldn't tuck anything in with skirts but wear styles that sit outside. Try a light jumper with those skirts and the style will work. Just treated myself to a Monsoon trench coat in a light blue grey colour. The quality is better than my pricey M&S one but also beats it as it is machine washable. My M&S trench is beautiful but dry clean only which just isn't practical. Wendy
Hi Wendy, great advice thank you, I was unaware of how Monsoon sizing worked and of course the size guide is always useless. Good to know that the quality is there and I could see and feel that for myself apart from the leopard print skirt which was awful. xx
Morning Susan I wish they put the right size on the clothes thank you for sharing your haul all skirt where nice but I did like the last skirt and it was just nice on it you went down a size I have enjoyed your haul Susan and I am looking forward to seeing more have a lovely weekend ❤xx
I don't mind paying little extra if the quality is there and I feel that it fits and flatters me totally but on this occasion I don't really feel any did 😏x
Hi Susan, good haul! My thought on what suits you best, berry, Devore, denim, brown then leopard. The leopard was certainly better under the jacket, but twisty elastic is definitely a no no! Am realky enjoying your videos, and took a look at the Seasalt ones. All good wishes from NZ!
First skirt is great but I'd wear with a denim jacket. Denim is great. The frilled pocket looks like the fabric was overstretched. Love the leopard and goes great with leather jacket. Last one I would say no.
I thought the first one was best but don't think you could get away with going down a size as the pockets are pulling and sticking out and adding bulk the same as the burgundy skirt. Anyway, what are you thinking about spending that much on a skirt when you're supposed to be losing weight? I've not forgotten 😉🥰
Hi Loraine, im glad you haven't forgotten because neither have I 😜. Family birthday early into Jan delayed me starting on New Years day but I got cracking on the 5th and then had to restart on the 9th 😏 as just couldnt get into it again. After a serious chat to myself and recognising just how awful I was feeling I finally cracked down again on Monday 13th.......lets hope its third time lucky. No I have to be more positive, it will be third time lucky, I feel im in the zone now, all the xmas stuff gone and a cruise booked for early spring so I need to get focused. Thank you for keeping me accountable.....I need it lol xx
Hi susan thankyou for trying skirts , this is a problem area for me as alot of skirts tend to cling to my big stomach and they make my hips look bigger, i liked the brown first skirt and the black floral skirt, but i want to find a more summery skirt, interesting haul,x💕
Hi Marianne, all different but Monsoon definitely seem to edge towards an a line skirt which gave me extra room around the tum. Though I got sizing wrong underestimating how generous Monsoon sizing was, so maybe in right size they would cling too much. But an interesting experiment and as soon as the weather picks up you can be sure summery skirts will be coming lol xx
Does the Monsoon website give actual dimensions on their clothing with a size chart? I never go by the "Small, Medium, Large etc." and always go by their actual measurements for hips, waist, bust, length etc because there is just no standard sizing between companies. And when buying a skirt I definitely look for the length if they include it. And some sites will give the height of the model and what size she's wearing to give a person a good idea of how the piece will look on them. I've got a piece of paper with my measurements on it including inseam, length from waist to knee, length from shoulder to knee, and shoulder to ankle. As well as the width and length of my foot! That way you'll never be banking on the whimsy of manufacturer's sizing! And if there is no sizes and measurements included, I just won't buy it.
Monsoon do give a size guide and following it I come in between an xl and a xxl! Not helpful or correct really 😏. My statistics seem to be all over the place at the moment, with my recent weight gain and very recent slight weight loss, and soon to be big weight loss lol xx
I hate hip pockets, they always increase our dimensions, therefore I always stitch them down. Smooths the hips instantly!
I agree. We're in the minority, I think, but I dislike pockets in dresses and skirts. I'd never put anything in them, as it would ruin the line. Also, they most definitely increase our hip dimensions. Well, in my opinion, at least. Have a good day
I do love a pocket but agree these were badly designed and didn't flatter me 😏x
I think pockets work on some clothing but definitely not these skirts, the fabrics were too thick causing the bulk around the hips issue 😏 x
All nice but the last one was the best I think. You suited the style and colour way.
Thank you Phyllis, the best of a bad bunch but I don't think any really for me 😏 x
Hi Susan. Once again a lovely haul ❤ xx
Hi Susan , love the last skirt , so beautiful and thought it really flattered you . I hate all the large X-Large sizing , it can be so confusing as it means different things on various websites . Hi Pamela, the last skirt was the nicest but more of a going out skirt so wouldn't get much use unfortunately 😏x
Morning Susan my favourite was the first suede skirt definitely next size down, l agree with you stick with normal sizing sizing xl, xxl is always difficult to gage for me and off putting 😊

Love the suedette skirt on you ,I'm not a fan of pockets I always feel they add extra bulk at the hips , but they Al look great on you ❤
Thank you Barbara, I wish I could agree with you but im afraid they were all too big xx
Hi Susan, I enjoyed your latest video as I've never bought anything from Monsoon although i have looked in the one near Bluewater shopping centre in Kent and seen then on QVC shopping. QVC have really declined in quality sadly
@ I agree UA-cam is much more entertaining than shopping channels and it won't cost you a penny lol xx
@ its years since I ordered anything and im sure I had to return it and pay for the privilege 😏xx
My favourite on you was the flowered one; it skimmed beautifully over your mid-section without swamping your legs with too much fabric. I would absolutely try that skirt with a coloured t-shirt and your black moto jacket!
That leopard print was a fright! Honestly, it looked cheap even on screen, the colourway was bland and then the twisted elastic 😳

Totally agree, leopard print skirt was cheaply made and not what I would expect from Monsoon xx
Liked the last skirt best. Not keen on the pockets on the skirts as they just seemed to stick out in the wrong place.Always end up stitching the elastic down on twisted elastic waist skirts.Must admit I would be tempted to wait for a monsoon sale as they were all.quite pricey x
I don't mind paying if its a great piece of clothing that looks amazing on me and obviously these didn't,lol. x
Hi Susan, I really liked the first skirt and the denim best. The others were OK however agree with you about the leopard print wRistband ❤
Hi Norma, I do hate lose casings with elastic in, they are always going to twist and so annoying trying to get it untwisted all the time 😤x
Not sure about the skirts Susan but that’s more about me than the actual skirts although I didn’t find those styles were particularly flattering! Morning Susan and thank you for the video ❤. My favourite it the black floral and really suits you.
Hi Judith, thank you. It was a lovely skirt but probably a little too fancy for my everyday lifestyle and was also the most expensive of them all xx
I dislike pockets in skirts and dresses. They widen the hip dimensions, in my personal opinion. I know most women seem to prefer them. Hi Jacqueline, Im not a frequent shopper with Monsoon but the leopard print skirt was definitely substandard for the money. x
Hi Susan. Think any of skirts in right size be nice. Sizing is so difficult varies such a lot
hello Maureen, it is so hard to get sizing right when ordering online. Annoys me so much that online shopping is really only option as most shops don't stock the larger sizes in store 😏 x

Hi Alana, thank you I definitely should have ordered a size down but I just didn't appreciate how generous Monsoon is xx
Good morning, the A line skirts are really flattering on you. Never mind the skirts being generous, I'd take it as you getting smaller 😅😅😅
Hi Sue, not me getting smaller just ordering a bigger size......unfortunately 😏x
@susanknight7091 one day 👌
I like purple maybe it was purple. Is my favourite colour the animal print one was nice as well. I think they’re very expensive though.😊😊❤
I don't mind paying little extra if the quality is there and I feel that it fits and flatters me totally but on this occasion I don't really feel any did 😏x

Hi Amanda, wow all the way from NZ that's exciting that my channel has travelled so far 🥰x
First skirt is great but I'd wear with a denim jacket. Denim is great. The frilled pocket looks like the fabric was overstretched. Love the leopard and goes great with leather jacket. Last one I would say no.
Hi Gail, not my greatest haul im afraid but always more to come and I can only hope they are more successful 🤞x
I thought the first one was best but don't think you could get away with going down a size as the pockets are pulling and sticking out and adding bulk the same as the burgundy skirt. You always do 🤣

Ooh nice skirts susan, but ya way too big for you, my fav was the first suede one, loved that! ❤
Hi Chris all great skirts but I failed to realise how generous Monsoon sizing was so no good for me on this occasion im afraid 😏x
