As a Manhattan-er, there are ways that you can spend less, but yea, NYC=expensive, however, you can also live much cheaper in the other boroughs like Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn
Had lived in Manhattan, New York for 2+ years before I moved to other states. The life in New York was overall great but far from fantastic or something that people might’ve been dreaming about. The monthly rent for 1 bedroom 1 bathroom was roughly 5,000 USD, while I shared the living room with a guy, which tremendously relieved the bill bomb coming to us every month. To be honest, people in New York imo were individualized in a way that you wouldn’t anticipate any more from them. A good thing about Ny is the inclusiveness, and yet, the indifferences could also be coming from there. The fact people don’t care about others makes everyone be themselves. That said, New York is New York, nothing superior, but definitely a must-visit since…….you may like it (?) while I don’t lol.
I already feel numb to the price after living in New York for 8 months now, and I think the key is to have a decent job here:) Living in New York is just so exciting, endless stuff to do, and so convenient compared to other cities in the States, also a new discovery is that you can take a train to upstate to hike, helping you to escape the concrete jungles. well, I think you will change your mind if you have a job here and spend more time here:)

Thats why ppl live in qns, bklyn to keep the cost of living low. The rent for a 1br apt in qns is about $1850. But even that, we’ve seen the price went up drastically since the pandemic. Meals on average went up $2-3 to cover the inflation etc
Agree with your conclusion. I like have 2-3 fun trips in NYC every year as someone lives in the Midwest. There are just some many things you can do (no matter what you like) and I truly feel no one cares what you do/did. You can enjoy NYC with however much you have. It's a typically metropolitan but it's only has its unique beauty.
It really depends on your life style. Living in NYC is not all expensive as you described here. We have friends who live in the Flushing area and they are not as expensive as Manhatten. Expensive and affordable is really depending on the individual's life style. Thanks for sharing!
Personally, NYC was simply just a cancellation on my traveling list. My experience in NYC was terrible. I cannot agree more on the expensive living expenses, but what makes it worse is that, you need to pay extra money for just being safe. In the daytime, there are CD bullies on the streets. And in the nights, do not hang out unless you have good an insurance that covers gunshots. Again, it was great I visited NYC once in my life but never again
紐約是貴，但一般人不會每週花到一千美金啦！畢竟藝文活動跟觀景台這類行程頂多久久一次，外食次數也不會太多，來旅遊和生活在這本來就還是不太一樣。有趣的是，在國外待久了，反而更能體會台灣的美好。
我也是這樣想~ 根據我自己在紐約的觀察，第一個是一般人應該不會住在 Manhattan，太奢侈，第二個是一般上班族或學生應該比較常自己煮，外食機會應該滿少的，第三個也是娛樂費一個禮拜應該沒那麼高，畢竟沒時間天天出去玩 xD
這裡花錢買快樂吃好吃的都太貴，通常自己煮、買餃子，一週偶爾吃一次外食。但通常都去華人區買便宜點的ＸＤ
我自己就是長住在紐約的上班族，一周大概花120-150美元吧，這還是有自己煮的情況，我是很少外食。紐約對短期來旅遊或工作的人來說是很棒的城市，但對長期生活的人來說生活成本真的非常高，比以前在台北工作高了非常多。
@@cclin5760 我覺得大頭應該是住，畢竟就算是北市的話也沒有很貴。如果吃的比較健康或是娛樂比較多，在台北一個禮拜120-150鎂（3500NTD以上）也是很正常。

如果你把紐約跟台灣的價錢比較的話 當然不會有人能接受並且長住在紐約. 但如果你跟其他國家 比如東京 香港 巴黎 紐約 雪梨這些大城市比較起來 其實紐約也不過就是貴一點點或著是差不多而已. 簡單來講 如果你用台灣的角度去跟全世界比 是無法比較真正的市場的

I'm a Taiwanese living and working in NY but I really miss Taiwan.
之前也去過紐約2次，一次16天一次21天，包括機票加住宿跟所有的雜七雜八的花費，第一次是九月中七萬五千，第二次是六月中八萬四千，我覺得出門在外只要吃的飽不必吃的太奢華，這樣就夠了！（結果我的戰略品只有幾件上衣和褲子，再幾個鑰匙圈🤣🤣🤣）

在弗吉尼亚生活了4年，在纽约生活了8年，现在即将搬去德州，其实感觉还好，房租是最大开销，租曼哈顿的公寓肯定贵，但是如果找那种华人房东，租一室一厅或两室一厅在皇后区或者布鲁克林，相比弗州和德州租公寓并不会贵太多。
NY的住一向是恐怖的價格，一個月四萬多台幣好像都是起跳價，超過許多人的月薪了，但真的很愛看妳的頻道，舒服又實用
