- Hi there! I was not able to upload last week, forgive me I got busy with work 🤷🏻♀️ For today's video, let me show you a comparison between a real nendoroid from a fake nendoroid. I had Tanjiro's nendoroid on hand and lucky enough I stumbled upon a fake one so here we are haha! I hope this helps especially if you're new to collecting anime figures. Thank you for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed watching the detailed comparison between the real Kamado Tanjiro Nendoroid and the Fake Kamado Tanjiro Nendoroid Unboxing and sort of a review I guess? 😂❤️

There are a lot of cheap, legit Nendoroids if you buy them used from Japan.
Used in Japan often means that the box may have a slight bent, but often times the boxes aren’t even opened and even if they are, Japanese fans keep really good care of their figures (mostly)
Good places to buy used figures in general are AmiAmi used section, Mandarake and Surugaya.
This is my first time knowing about this surugaya. I'll check this out thank you ☺️
I actually got two Madoka Magica ones from a Wattmans for only ¥1,600!! I was so excited to get them! But unfortunately I believe wattmans doesn’t do online shopping it’s only in person here in japan.
yep! there are a lot of used figures on yahoo auctions japan in very good condition! i almost always buy my stuff from there
Seeing as the Tanjiro is 130$ and the fake is 15$ I’ll go fake that said I ABSOLUTELY don’t plan on reselling and people that try to push fakes as legit deserve a special place in HELL!!!
@@JennySupremo btw just wanted to let you guys know that you find more results on Mandarake and Surugaya, if you copy and paste the Japanese name in kanji of the character/series you want to the search bar.
If you write it in English letters you’ll still get results but just not that many
The fact that its 15$ sure id buy it but i saw a whole bunch of fake nendoroids at the mall for full price of the original, it was easy to tell because the faces of the fakes look kind of deflated so if you dont want to buy a fake look for that detail as well!
This usually happens on cosplay conventions too. Sigh
I can see that they've gotten better, you can't tell a bootleg from its box anymore lol
On some bootlegs like this one. Ofcourse other bootlegs that are way waaaay cheaper look totally different. So we have to be careful when buying nendos ☺️
@@JennySupremo True, thank you for this informative video tho 💖
You're welcome. I'll be uploading another comparison but with Nezuko this time. Maybe around the end of this month ☺️ I hope i'd see you there too 🤗
Nah the fake ones don’t have the stickers and stuff
aha turk buldum- esenlikler!
Tbh I don’t care if they real or fake. I just care if they look good
In addition to what's already been said, Counterfeit figures I've held irritated my skin and caused a rash. No way is it worth buying something potentially harmful.
The only time I would buy a fake figure is if the real one is being scalped for a high amount
@@yuepan4053 we do want that, but sadly not everyone has enough money to get originals.
@@Milasyuu or you can buy 2nd hand one just like what I did for some of my nendoroids.
I am with you 👉
I have only two Nendoroids, Sakura Miku and BotW Link, both fake and I always feel so bad when people say "If you don't have the money, don't buy any Nendoroid." You saying that it's ok when you are on a low budget makes me happy again, because I have almost no money for my hobby, cause Im without a job at the moment but I wanted to have these two so bad... Thank you very much for making me happy again with those words
Heeey ofcourse it's okay. Please don't feel bad. Buying real ones ofcourse will help the industry but that doesn't mean buying fakes are something to feel so bad for. You can't force yourself especially if it concerns money. What's important is you're happy and satisfied. Fake or not. 💕 I started there too. When I was still in college and it took me 10 years to finally buy and commit to real anime figures. Just keep the passion burning. 🔥🔥
Wow, this is the best Nendoroid comparing video I found, I love thisss
Aweee thank you
That scissors had been used to battle against the demon of the land. Buy legit or be punished.
Hahaha it's been with me from the beginning. I can't abandon a longtime comrade 😂
I now know I got a fake Eren Nendroid but I still love him
Idek if my zenitsu one is, idm tho!! :DD
Update.... I just bought bootleg Nendo Tanjiro. Although it has all boogleg qualities, surpisingly it looks much better than yours! The box is sligthly different too! It must be from other company. The paint is exceptionally good, except for shoulders which is strangely blurred. And it misses a bent leg accessories. For a bootleg, this one is hard to see if you just display it on the shelf.
Bootlegs are improving every release I guess. It was so easy to see the difference before as fakes look reaaaaally shitty haha! Like I said my fake can look different than other fakes and it is as you confirmed the fake you got looked better 😱😱 i guess we really have to be really meticulous and extra careful especially purchasing online ☺️
Where do you buy it
@@dragongamingandrandomly4143 From a local seller. I didnt know about the difference at first. After unboxing it, I realized mine is better bootleg quality.
Precisely .
@@JennySupremo Most important is to have a TRUSTED bootleg seller. I bought bootleg Caster Merlin. When I opened it, the head FELL OFF!!! Luckily, the seller sent me free joint.
I think if u often buy real Nendos, you can feel it if someone cheats u with fake ones. They simply feel different.
me: checking if my tanjiro is real*
it’s real
Good for you 😊😊
The only way to ensure getting original product is to PAY MORE EXPENSIVELY. The more you expect to get a bargained price, the bigger chance you end up with a bootleg!
Some nendo bootlegs are surprisingly good though. It depends on the models.
I agree. It's unfortunate but collecting figures come hand in hand with expensive prices so if the price is too good to be true, best believe it's fake or if it's real, might have some kind of damage or defect 😩🤷🏻♀️
How many Nendos do you have? I want ask, why some nendo's paint is so bad? Original but when I "play" with it, the paint is chipped off. It hurts.... I have Takashi Natsume. His shirt is so very sensitive.
I'm new to collecting nendos I think have 15 more or less. I do think this kind of figures are sensitive. Some even have flimsy parts despite being originals. I can't answer to why the paints chip off sometimes tho because so far it didn't happen to me. What happened to mine was discolouring from white to light yellow tho
@@JennySupremo I pose Takashi with Nyanko. I made him hold the cat. Afterwards I notice the paint on his shirt chipped :(
@@angelo-7533 what? Whoa whoa that's too sensitive. Are all signs of legitimacy there? It's my first time hearing about this kind of issue. I do know some chipped paint issues but that would be from older nendos or stored nendos in boxes for a very long time. :O
personally i’d definitely prefer the original :) just something you should have a separate piggy bank to save up for. I feel it’s more worth it that way.
I A G R E E 💯❤️❤️
at the moment I was on a pretty low budget. I know the nendroid I ordered is fake but it’s only because I knew my mom and anyone in my family would think it’s outrageous to buy such an expensive “toy” as they’d call it. I honestly wish I could get an authentic version just so I wouldn’t promote the person who copied someone’s hard work but like I said, I was on a low budget.
It's okay. These situations are totally common and understandable. 💗 I do hope you get to have an authentic nendo someday tho 👌🤞
should've focused on the hologram sticker, as well as the printing/font/spacing on the box as the box is the first, and realistically only thing, that can be used to differ when making a purchase. Also should've pointed out the paint imperfections on the chest, belt and buttons.
Thank you for pointing that out. I'll try that next time as this is my first time comparing an original with a bootleg 💗
@@JennySupremo best of luck going forward!
Not all originals have hologram stickers! It mainly depends on distributors.
I agree. That's why I don't base fakes on hologram stickers. Some of my nendos don't have it. It's unfortunate your Nendo is that sensitive. Did you contact Goodsmile about it? Might be a defect. That's new news to me. Really. :'(
This must have been expensive all I know.
The neck gap on older bootlegs will trigger you, i havs an oikawa bootleg... Naming him bootleg-kawa after i get my hands on the original: orig-kawa
Does the fake have flat ass too? Haha!
THIS MADE ME LOL SO HARD
@@JennySupremo hahah flatter than ever😂😂😂
This channel is a real life saver when purchasing nendroids! Any nendroid I’ve bought I always THUROUGHLY check from this channel, I use mercari to buy nendroids always in the condition “new” it may be more expensive and I may have to wait a while for a listing on one labeled “new” but it is definitely worth it! I bought a nendroid off mercari once before with the condition “used” thinking it just meant it had been in someone’s home for awhile, maybe opened and the nendroid peices had never been changed or taken out. It was kind of discouraging that it had already been used and displayed many times before me! Dust was in between the hair and neck and joint and was very hard to clean! The pieces also weren’t in original plastic packaging so they where loosely in the bleachers, wich was kind of unsafe in shipping. So that’s my first peice of advise for buying nendroids that aren’t directly from good smile! Always buy “new” unless you don’t care about stuff like that haha maybe just me.
Third piece of advise! 👏Always check the images 👏 that means check for discoloration in packaging, don’t look for logos!! As we can see here company’s will use the hood smile logo! Watch videos to see small details! They can be VERY difficult to find.
Fourth peice of advise- 👏check the seller👏 I cannot stress this enough!!
Make sure they have at least 4.5 stars and have badges and reviews. Badges such as “reliable” “fast responder” look for reviews such as “great packaging” “fast shipper” these show you how safe your product will be and the determination the seller has to ship is a really good factor. Showing they do care about the products!
Those are my tips!!! Be safe when shopping on sites such as second hand and used sites! And always watch videos and reviews to check packaging!!
This comment really made me soooo happy today. \( ̄︶ ̄*\)) Thank you for using this video as your reference for identifying fakes and verifying the authenticity of your nendoroids. I feel honored😁
Second, you got very good tips there. PLUS ONE on checking images. IT'S A MUST. If buyers can ask for actual clips or videos of the item being sold, much better too.
Thank you for sharing your pointers/insights! This will definitely help newbie nendoroid collectors out there! Bless you always~ (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
I’m so glad I bought my tanjiro at a Manga store
These are some stuff we gotta look out for if we don't want to get baited by buying fakes. Glad you bought from an official shop 👌
One reason why the box is two parts for real Nendoroids is because they sometimes package large, flat parts in between both box parts that wouldn't fit in the blister. That way the nice coloured inside doesn't get damaged by the tape to hold the part in place.
I have the Sasori Nendoroid from Naruto and his 3rd Kazekage puppet decal was boxed that way. At first I thought it was missing but the manual said where it was. 😅 Only reason I have ever pulled out that inner box.
Love how the fake one looks jaundiced lmao
omg this won me over 😂😂
Bootlegs are FUN
I personally, want an entire collection of Sailor Moon bootleg wands/brooches. Why? Because they MAKE FUN NOISES
the older ones from the 90s/2000s take music from the Pink Sugar Wand, and the Crisis Brooch lol
If it's the ayayayay little butterfly sound then yes haha
For the fakes problem of the hole being to small, I just went over with a bit of sandpapper and it fit. Note I was on a budget and had never bought a nendoroid before
I didn't think of fixing it anymore since I really don't collect fakes in the first place. I sold it to someone with dirt cheap price instead 🤷🏻♀️ it's nice of you to share this idea. This could help those who also bought some fakes with the same problem. Though I advice to rather buy real ones if you can rather than spending on fakes. I-if your situation permits you to. In the future or if you have saved enough 🤗😊
@@JennySupremo tbh for me I just wanted something for that character (it's a fake pokemon N nendoroid) but I wasn't overly sure about the price especially saying I'd never bought something like it be so getting a fake one wasn't too bad, it looks like the character which is what matters most to me.
Did just manage to get a DXF figure off ebay of the same character... Not cheap... Not cheap at all...
This happened to me and i was so sad about it and I really love the character I got but it was a fake one
I found a cleaning Levi nendoroid for a super good price and it’s definitely a bootleg, but it looks super cute and the paint is nice too! I just don’t find it reasonable at all to pay 400 bucks or more in retail...I love Levi but this is where I draw the line 😹 love my little fake one tho now
I buy the fake ones to repaint them and make custom nendoroid dolls. If I wanted an existing character I think I'd definitely go with a real one. Anyway great video! I've seen some where it was obvious but others seem to be harder to spot now like this one here, surprising!
Bootlegs are improving these days but ofcourse there are still a lot of obvious ones out there. You got a pretty neat idea on making custom made Nendo dolls tho. 👌
I started collecting last year and made the mistake to purchase 2 fake nendoroids. I was so excited because I had no idea bootlegs were a thing. You can just imagine my disappointment when they got here and I realized how low quality they were. I couldn't even stand them, all their body parts fell easily, and the paint job was incredibly poor. That's when I learned about bootlegs and realized the real price of a good quality figure. Sometimes it's tempting to buy bootlegs for how cheap they are, but I 100% prefer to save up some money and slowly buy some good quality original figures over having a lot of bootlegs. Now I have quite a decent collection and can't wait to make it even bigger this year!💜 Thanks for the vid, it'll help lots of new collectors who have no idea how awful bootlegs can be!
I've been there and I fully understand how you felt. I even bought my bootlegs as a set in a mall. In a mall where I never thought I could ever buy fake items 😩😩 anyway, my collections today are full of real ones. I only bought this fake one for comparison and I do agree that it's best to save up for originals rather than spending on fakes which are waste of money. 😊😊
I also have another video for newbies in toy collecting and since you're not new anymore, I hope you could share your thoughts in the comments there too. 🤗

This is why I got my first nendroid from a trustworthy shop I didn't want to risk buying a cheap one and it ending up being a fake 😅
That's right. There are even fakes that are sold at the same price as the originals or even priced higher. I feel for those who fall for the scams 😭😩
@@JennySupremo I know it's crazy! I also feel bad for those who fell for these scams
If really I dont think it matters original or fake nendoroid for me it needs to look good and need to have normal price
The person who made the Tanjiro knock off did Tanjiro dirty

I love well made fakes! I put 3 of them with my 40+ real ones and make people play “Guess the fake” xD
That seems to be a fun guessing game. Especially between anime figure collectors. 😁😁

I got a fake Jotaro Kujo for a birthday present from a family member and the box was super sketchy and had a ton of tape- but the figure was decently alright with a few minor paint mistakes.
Not bad for a first nendroid to own :>
Hi Noah. That fake you got weighs more than any real Nendoroid as it was a birthday present. ❤️❤️❤️ It now has a sentimental value and priceless. Make it as a comparison for future planned purchases instead.

@@JennySupremo yup when I receive him ill be looking out for all the things you mentioned in this video!:P
The packaging had the separate background like the real one in this video but it had no tape keeping it closed, no extra plastic in it. But the arm popped out I think during shipping. I got Ed and al from full metal alchemist. I got the English voice actors to sign them I think 2 years ago give or take. Could mine be a better fake or cause the person had them out to take pictures that would explain why there is no tape or anything ?
Was it declared as brand new upon your purchase? If not, then it can be real but pre owned. The owner might have opened to check the items inside. Tho I don't know about other fakes having separate backgrounds. All I know is not long ago, the face plates were copied from the old nendos despite the real ones having ball joints already. 🤷🏻♀️ As of the moment I only own 1 fake so this is the only thing I could compare a real nendo from
wow...today the fake one getting better...i hardly to recognize which one the real and fake without comparison side by side..
Yes. Unfortunately. Fakes were easy to spot just by the difference in face plates. They're trying to catch up 🤷🏻♀️

Eyyy. It's okay. If money is your concern and you really wanna have the figure, buying a fake is alright. But if you can, try and save and then buy a real one the future. It will surely give you a much feeling of satisfaction especially if you set it as a goal and also help the industry. 🤗

I don't see it onhand on Amiami. Did you try browsing on Goodsmile company's official shop/website. Or if not try looking on groups in Facebook. Im sorry I couldn't be of much help.
I used cd japan, but you have to pre order for quite a few of them, it a good place to pre order while anticipating a release, they do offer a service to get older ones too but I don't know how much extra it costs and I'm not sure if theres a possibility that any of those suppliers sell fakes, it is a japanese company though so I doubt it, since all of the products are sourced from japanese shops as far as I know. I pre ordered the Natsume takashi nendoroid there and he was legit, and everything else I've bought from them has been really good too.
Crunchyroll too, but they always cost more because the company is taking a cut aswell. So I'd recommend buying straight from Japan, cuts out the US companies from the price. I live in the uk so I'll have to pay deliver either way so I'm not giving the US company an extra cut on top of delivery when I can just order from japan instead.
Ha i have both. Anyway that a good review. Just going to point out the real one is smooth i guess compare to the fake but the water is probably where you can tell for this nendoroid
Thank you. Also, yeah, most fake figures are messy or rough to touch. But if the buyer has no option in opening the item to check the water, I guess the face is the best bet or the box itself. 🤷🏻♀️ Can't say it's the same for other fakes tho. Sigh*

there are 2 easy spot for newbie collector to differentiate which is fake n real, first in every figure (nendoroid, figma, scaled figure) in real one you will find labels what company own (or publish) originally those anime, example at this tanjiro nendoroid box you will (and must) find shueisha label.
Second this is really help if you buy figure without box (secondhand so usually cheaper) just look at the figure base, real one must have their original publisher stamped either at bottom, side or behind the base, example at this tanjiro nendo the real one must have shueisha name stamped at his base.
hope this help and happy collecting

Great now I know if my todoroki is gonna be fake
I know this is a old video but when I bought my tanjiro nendoroid recently I bought him for 35 ish dollars and when I opened his box alot of his arms were sticking out too. It seemed I got a defected one as why the price was cheaper. But it is a real goodsmile nendoroid. I had to fix this issue but cutting off the nubs little by little with my box cutter to make it fit. (So you can technically get this issue with real nendoroids too.)
I got this issue with my Ochaco nendoroid. Not as worse as fake nendoroids tho.
@@JennySupremo I was wondering if you had the same issue with this too. I had bought the deku costume y ver nendoroid who's very posable right? But one of his legs is longer then the other. when i first got a nendoroid i was so confuse and might have lost some peaces i was confused on the parts but im kinda doing better when i just found out you can make the poses thats on box its getting easier now i was rlly happy when i first got a nendoroid/figure this actually helped me out as remembering i got a fake nendoroid after waiting for months for it to come and some of the peaces broke but im still satisfied with it still
Well if you're satisfied with it then everything is okay I guess. ☺️☺️ As long as you're happy with it, then it's fine
that t-shirt at the very beginning tho
💯👌👌
I need to look out for this while searching for JoJo Nendoroids.
Love your videos that explain
Thank you \( ̄︶ ̄*\))
This is why I buy mostly Jojo’s bizarre adventure figures because fakes of jojo figures are almost nonexistent. For example most Medicos jojo figures do not have ANY fake version of the original (I Looked for hours). There’s only bootleg versions of Dio, jotaro, Bruno and abbaccio
The fake and android looks better than the real one
Hmmm. Well they pretty much look the same. In person tho, the details are very noticeable with the fake. It looks rougher and the parts has gaps on some areas. But if it looks good then I think it's fine 🤷🏻♀️😂
Yay this is really helpful since im about to buy a nendroid
Ohh I'm so glad you see this video as helpful ❤️ what Nendo do you plan to buy? I also have another video like this but it's of Nezuko. If ever you're interested, it's more detailed. Here's the link 😊

Thanks
@@JennySupremo im planning to buy nezuko
That's awesome! She'd be a good starting nendoroid as she's not too complicated to assemble and she has less accessories. Less clutter I mean hehe
@@JennySupremo she's so cute
The fake some is sort of taller
I don't mind the fakes cuz where I lived a real nendoroid cost over 200 ringgit and I don't really have much money. So I might buy a fake nendoroid but who knows. I will buy the real nendoroid when I'm older tho!
ooorrr you can patiently wait for pre owned authentic nendoroids. I have seen some sell their real ones for as low as 50 ringgit.
lol I always have a problem trying to connect the base to the body!! never wants to go into the hole in the bank of the nendo!!
On your authentic one?? Maybe it's the wrong end (・-・;)ゞ
Oh my gosh I got that same nendoroid the other day
same authentic or same fake nendoroid? Dont leave us hanging haha
@@JennySupremo thankfully authentic one 😂
Ohh. Thank God. Good for you bud 👌
Thanks for this video
Thanks for watching too P ☺
Another thing before buying: if your buying online and not buying from good smiles official website always read the comments of the nendoroid
This is a good advice. Especially if someone's buying from non partner or unofficial partners like eBay Amazon or alibaba
This gives me some peace of mind that my small collection of Nendos are real. Though sadly I missed out on the Demon Slayer nendos....
There were re releases by the end of last year tho. It's unfortunate you missed out on that. Personally I think there will be a third release in the future too just like haikyuu since Demon Slayer is a very popular anime too. Just keep on look out 😉
Thank you so much, now I can tell which is real, I'm happy I got my real nendoroid
You're welcome. I'm happy to be of help 😊😊
Not a nendoroid but I accidentally bought two fake anime figure, my are kinda bad paint job but I can fix that. I feel bad when you said that buy the real one to support the real brand
Bootlegs are good for customization & just building a collection then save real nendoroids for special to you/favorite anime characters
Oh and the scar the real one is lighter then the fake one his is darker
As long as i cant tell that it looks fake, it is what i want
😂😂 This cracked me i honestly dunno how to respond haha
Very helpful
Thanks for this I can now determine the diff bet the fake & real.. I'm planning to buy Jalter bootleg in Japan soon coz I am scared to buy online and I'm thinking that maybe there's a discount there..
I bought a fake one :(
Was it bought cheap?
